This park is brand new in downtown Lakeport, within walking distance of Library Park. There are basketball hoops, shaded picnic areas, bathrooms, skate park, lawns, and an awesome obstacle course that is adult size, but partially usable by kids, it's right on the water, and has a beautiful view. Check it out!

This is a beautiful park that's adjacent to Clear Lake. Today we were watching a tribute band to Tom Petty (Petty Rocks) as part of the concert series. All you need is to bring your own chair, cooler with drinks and maybe some snacks for a date. The park is filled with large trees that provide shade. The beauty of this park is that it's adjacent to Lake Port. It also has docks, playgrounds, a place where you can launch your boat as well. Parking could be tricky for events but if you don't mind parking a few blocks away, you're still within walking distance. My boyfriend and I have also been here during quieter times and there are picnic tables available. Great for some family time or a picnic date.

The new section of the park is really beautiful. Walks on the park have been so nice. The lake is at it's highest and so beautiful.

Lots of shade near the playground.

This is the center of life in Lakeport. Despite its name, it's actually a waterfront park. The old building surrounded by palm trees was once the city library. But Library Park is more than that. This is a piece of small town Americana. An old town on one side, a beautiful lake on the other side. Clear Lake is a popular boating lake, so there are also docks to park your boat, and also a boat ramp to put it in. And a shady, well-maintained lawn spanning several blocks, including a gazebo. All of Lake County has become more sleepy since Konocti Harbor shut down for good, and Lakeport is no exception. You could easily find yourself nearly alone in Library Park. Good for a picnic for your family, or for yourself. The kids could throw the football around or go swimming. But wait, there's more! Remember how I wrote that this is the center of life in Lakeport? Come on a Friday night in the summer, and there's a band playing in the gazebo, and the park is filled with people. Independence Day is also a big deal. Library Park is a lovely park for the residents. And if you find yourself visiting the west or north shore of Clear Lake, Library Park is a good place to relax for a bit.

One of my good friend Yelp friends is famous for reviewing parks. My 2011 New Years Resolution is…read moreto match her park for park. And I will begin my quest with the world's champion of parks. Growing up, this place was known simply as the Ukiah Municipal Park. I'm not sure when the whole Todd Grove thing happened, but it's the in thing to name parks after people. I'm all good with that. Some of the park kid toys are gone, but the giant tractor tires remain. What is it about a giant rubber tire that would get me to spend countless hours entertaining me? The parks iconic symbol to me was always the rocket. Now that was the single biggest childhood attraction for me growing up in the entire town. I still remember the day I felt like one of the big kids when I finally stopped my crying and summited the very top. I swear you could see the Golden Gate Bridge from there. Sir Edmund Hillary has nothing on me. . This park includes two swimming pools, plenty of picnics and countless trees that provide protection and shade from the hot summer sun. I took swimming lessons here as a kid and is where I conquered my fear of the water. I cannot even begin to count the fond memories of this place. From the family summer outings, to the yearly school picnics this place will always hold a special place in my heart.
