I went in looking to buy out half of his outdoor flowers he had sitting outside of his store front and literally told me it is too cold out here to put them out in the front of my home. We live less than 2 miles of your store so how would the climate be so different? Secondly if it's so cold why do you have them outside of your store front? Very disappointed if he is in fact racist. The owner and his staff go out of the way to buy the most unusual items. If I need a birthday gift for someone, I come here. I purchased a hand blown glass bird feeder for a friend. The price was not outrageous, as I am cheap, and my girlfriend LOVED it. If you need birdseed, at 69 cents a pound, buying it loose, you can't beat this place either. Of course they have the usual items, but you can even haggle a little sometimes and get a REAL bargain. Last year I got a beautiful bush for 1/3 off, just by asking if they had ANY specials at the end of the year. The woman in the gardening department actually said, I could let this one go a little cheaper as long as I know it is going to a good home. She feels about her plants the way I do! And lastly, in the country, you have to deal with mice. It is a necessary evil of the joy of the mountains. I was directed to a device that kills the mice by one of the ladies inside. They're mice, so killing them is fine with me as long as I don't see their feces on my counter top and in my food anymore. She even knew what she was talking about with that. In one week, my mouse problem has been solved. I was able to catch one mouse a day, and now I live rodent free. Thanks AGWAY for knowing your stuff!!!!

Heavy cardboard blocking the oven opening. No oven racks or air fryer tray. I (73) moved & wired (220v) the stove myself. After spending half the day on the phone with Home Depot, they determined the workers left these items on the truck. WE were told they would return and drop off these items. They did not. I would like these items as the oven is unusable without them. I would not recommend buying ANY appliance / large ticket item from home depot.

I have been coming here for 10+ years, always first before Lowe's because it is so clean and easy to navigate. Eileen seems to know everything about the store from memory. Andy and Brian don't sit still, they are always flying around helping everyone find the right stuff. I recently went there looking for furniture hardware to fix my bed headboard, right before the store closed. Glenn and Lou both helped me design a new bolt/nut setup to fix the pieces with stronger parts so it wouldn't break again, while using the existing drilled holes so it looks perfect. I was the last customer out as they were shutting off the lights and then I heard it was even Lou's birthday...stayed late to help me with a $10 purchase. This is how True Value earns the loyalty of their customers and takes the stress and uncertainty out of the average DIY jobs. Glenn and Lou could tell how important this repair was to me, and they gave it the same attention as a major renovation. It is amazing how cheap it can be to fix/maintain things instead of buy new ones. Take some digital pics and bring to the store and tell the crew to give you whatever you need to tackle the project. Be sure to rent tools from them too, so easy and cheap! They will even deliver the equipment to your house for you. Get Benjamin Moore paints from them too, good stuff lasts longer than junk and requires fewer coats...your time is valuable!

We'll still get those- but now as things have changed for us, we're getting kitchen items, cast-iron skillets, etc to use on weekends when we're in town. The right side of Houst is dedicated to kitchen items such as cutlery, cleaning supplies, pots+pans, serving spoons, welcome mats+other outdoor items. The left side has painting supplies, plumbing products and other DIY projects that need seeing quickly. For bigger home improvements, ask. Price? It's Woodstock. I'm not driving out of my way to save a a few dollars. But, these folks have a rewards system which you can accumulate and use for future purchases. As far as service, it's unbeatable.

They have anything that a home-improvement store or hardware store could reasonably be expected to carry (and then some); the prices are fair; and I've always found the staff friendly and helpful. There have been quite a few times when I've stopped by with nothing more than a vague idea in my head, and walked out with a plan and everything I needed to make it happen because store staff brainstormed the project with me and gave me ideas that helped my vague idea a reality. Wadler Bros. is also a True Value franchise and carries (or can order) anything that True Value sells. I've read a lot of reviews that only mentioned masks and said nothing about the store itself. If whether people in the store are wearing masks is your main concern, then maybe this store isn't for you. Some employees wear them, some don't. Customers are free to wear them or not wear them as they see fit. There are plexiglass barriers at the checkout, however, and social distancing is enforced; so I, as an older man with multiple risk factors, feel comfortable shopping at this store. The hours took a while to get used to. The store is open M-F from 7:30 a.m to 4 p.m., and 7:30 to noon on Saturday. They are closed Sundays and on major civil and Jewish holidays. I'm semi-retired and live close by, so none of that is an issue for me. If you're coming from a distance, be aware that this store's hours are pretty limited. In summary, I like this store. I like the location, the selection, the prices, and the people. It's also nice to support a local family business, not to mention not having to drive to Kingston every time I need a nut or a bolt.
