I figured there was not much chance of finding a real crystal shop here in rural upstate but we might find a little gift chop that has a few, so I searched Yelp and was surprised to find a crystal shop. Even more surprised once we got here. What an amazing place. It was once a church -- and do ask them the story, as the building is as much a treaure as the contents. Check out the stamped tin ceiling -- which was a treasure they unearthed as they removed many layers of paint. The stained glass windows are staggering and all original. The array of crystals and minerals here is staggering, ranging from tiny gems to geodes so big you can put your head in them, and a place you can lie down and do just that. Ever meditate inside a crystal? Plan to spend some time here, as there are two huge rooms with row after row of surprises, beautifully displayed and scrupulously organized. I'm glad to revise my review after a very positive experience when I went in today with no sign of the crabby lady (from my last review). It's been literally years since I've been in there, and it looks like the customer service has definitely improved. I also like the additional spaces and found a nice Buddha head for my meditation garden. Kristin assisted me with signing up for a Reiki workshop and was also very personable and friendly. She went out of her way to give me a natural resource and showed me directly where the workshop would take place. That made a major difference, and I plan to return for holiday shopping and the $5 discount for $30 plus purchases. read more

I was torn on how to rate my review so here is my explanation. I made my first trip to this place in April of 2023. It has always been on my bucket list and as a jeweler myself, I use a lot of semi-precious stones and beads. I figured I would support another small business as well as take in the beauty of the building. It used to be a church! On that day, I spent almost 2 hours going through their inventory and taking in the place inside and outside. It truly is a beautiful place. The staff was friendly and I even had a chat with the owner. I found myself filling my basket and I even bought a mystery bag. I made it a point to visit this place every time I headed upstate to visit family. Fast forward to two days ago and the atmosphere/energy was completely different. Maybe it was an off day? I barely spent 20 minutes inside. They hiked their prices tremendously and what used to be a steal, it's now either a bundle (raising the price) or just inflated price wise. I spent close to $100 and I wondered what I bought. When I was here in April, I spent close to $200 and I had 3 times the items of what I had two days ago. Knowing what I know about crystals, where they come from, etc, it was a bit ridiculous to see this in a 6 month span. They do offer coupons, great ones but they can only be used on regular priced items. Not even bundled items could be used with the coupons, which is a bit ridiculous considering that you are still paying full price (I did the math). If you are passing through, definitely stop by and check out the place and walk the grounds. As much as I wanted to be purchasing my beads from them for my jewelry, I wouldn't be doing so here. read more

This used to be a cute little quaint shop to go into, and now they've turned it into a mega mart for over priced items imported from China. Their prices are high. Their merchandise has diminished tremendously over the years in quality, and the expansion of the store made it into a Walmart supercenter for crystals, not a quaint little shop where you went in and felt the energy and vibes of cool Crystal emporium. I bought a piece of jewelry there that was marked silver and wasn't even sterling silver and then I bought a ring where the stones fell out after the second time I wore it. It's all that junk there is now made in China imports. None of it is handcrafted, and none of it is good quality. read more

This place is absolutely amazing!!! It's a crystal lovers paradise! The crystals are high quality, I found many unique crystals you won't find at a regular shop and the prices are definitely reasonable. And to top it off it's all in an old church. The vibe is great in this place! I also stayed next door in the Crystal Connection's new Air BNB, and Wow! Just Wow! The theme is of course crystals! Crystals in every room, crystal infused coffee and tea, crystal charged fruit and water, fun little crystal surprises everywhere you turn! Plus the beds are super comfy! If I could leave 0 stars, I would. The "manager" of the store was awfully rude to me & not wearing a mask THE WHOLE TIME. I kept my mask on and I was very excited to see the psychic faire and was immediately turned off before entering. The "manager" at the store told me that I wasn't allowed to go and see the faire without an appointment. So I tried to understand what readers were there and she pretty much just told me "I should have looked at the website" before coming in. Not even a "let me help you know what reader you'd like." I thought it was just how the faire ran, so I went inside the store to get some crystals. And I decided to tell the owner of the store, what had happened and he told me that I was allowed to walk back there. So I went to talk back there and again, manager lady wasn't wearing a mask and either was anyone working there. Except for the owner. And then I'm walking and the lady starts yelling at us saying "you guys really didn't listen" and starts going off at us. I would hate to think that she treated me this way because of the color of my skin because I was the only POC not allowed to walk back there. Because when I did walk back there, other non-POC were there with no issue. No one yelling at them. I told her that I had spoken to the owner who was very nice to me by the way and he'd told me I was allowed back there. She continued to yell at me and eventually I tried to leave. But not before letting the owner know how rude she was, which ended up in another bout of yelling; I can't believe I was treated so poorly. I've supported this business many times before and I feel god awful that this went down this way. read more

The staff didn't even keep their masks on. The staff was very rude whenever my friend and I asked a question about some of the products. Also, I get that wearing a mask for 8-12 hours a day isn't good for your health- but the mask is to protect whoever you come in contact with. Nurses and doctors have to wear masks anywhere from 8-24 hours a day. Yet none of them have ever complained. Just a food for thought. Blessed be. read more

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and very willing to spend time with you. All the stones and crystals I was looking for they had and then some I didn't even know I needed.! I really hope that the owner will read this review and take in this valuable feedback, from a previously loyal customer. Okay, so here's the deal...I have been a client of Crystal Connection's for some time now. The store selection is great and I have enjoyed my previous visits; however, I was completely appalled by my recent experience at Crystal Connection. Travis, the owner, spent 100% of my visit with his mask pulled down completely underneath his nose. When I went to check out, an older blonde woman was ringing people up...she actually had her mask COMPLETELY OFF and dangling from one ear! Finding this to be extremely disturbing, I asked her if she would please put her mask on. She covered only her mouth and left her nose out completely. When I asked her if she would please pull her mask up, she looked at me and said, "Wow...you're really going to freak out like that?!" At that moment, I decided to leave my $300+ order on the counter and to walk out...permanently. On my way out, I calmly informed Travis of exactly why I was leaving. As I was speaking to Travis, the blonde "Karen" behind the register began barking, "That's not true!", at me...in front of other customers. I calmly stated that this was exactly what she had said, verbatim. To compound matters, I was on my way to see someone with a serious lung disease...YOUR ACTIONS CAN AND DO HARM OTHERS. I own a business where I use Crystal Connection's products regularly. I will NOT set foot in this store again. Furthermore, I have friends, with wholesale accounts here, who have now sought out other wholesalers; they will NOT order from you again. Travis...in the midst of a public health crisis, you are costing yourself thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars, in business...simply because you, and your staff, are refusing to be respectful to your clients' health concerns. By all means, do what you want in your own lives, but in your business, not only is this a public safety issue...it's the law. And, by the way, EVERY single client in the store was wearing a face mask, covering both their nose and mouth; so, obviously, it matters to your clients. It is very easy to lose your business, especially during these trying economic times; don't lose your business because of disrespect, defiance and rude staff members...its really foolish. LAST AND FINAL DISPLAY OF DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE I am not new here and have spent hundreds of dollars in this establishment. This woman is nasty, rude, and clearly has an issue. If its an issue with people of color, which feels very much her case: I walked in greeted her and her 2 colleagues, met with uncomfortable silence. They decided not speaking and chose the pth of an uncomfortable silence. 1 associate decided to speak. I wonder who drew straws to do it? I refer too many people here to continue being treated like this. This is not the first time. Its so disgusting and disappointing. She does not even try to hide her disdain for cultural differences. (I AM BEING KIND) Forgive any typos. I AM SO FURIOUS. My family and I are good when Travis is there... he has ALWAYS been welcoming, but today was the last straw. . I can no longer support Crystal Connection. ( I have the receipts they can dispute this if they like). This goes against everything the work is about. Don't know what's more beautiful - the shop itself, with its spectacular original stained glass windows and architecture and brightly painted exterior, or the overwhelming amount of wonderous crystals and stones that are housed here. Have been here several times over the past few years, and I'm continually impressed at how Travis and his partner have worked to renovate and transform this old church building and improve the property, and are always so friendly and willing to educate people on their vast inventory. I bought a gemcomb from the owners at the Chester craft fair a few weeks ago and I LOVE it! it is so easy to put in, I can lay my head down with it still in and it doesn't stab you in the head, or feel uncomfortable at all, like other clips. I also get compliments on it so often I have their website and store info written in the notes on my phone so I can tell people when they ask about it. At first I thought they were a little expensive but now I think it's a bargain. read more

I love this store and that they are expanding. I was very disappointed that behind the register the person wrapping my purchase a few inches from me was not wearing a mask. The woman at the register was wearing her mask under her nose and took it off by pulling it from the center to speak loudly at people across the store , put her mask back on and with the same hand picked up our purchase to give it to the aforementioned mask less woman wrapping them, which grossed me out a little more. Working in a hospital, I wear heavier masks for longer and you are never supposed to touch the front like that because your transferring all the germs you're breathing in. Maybe they've had the vaccine and don't care - they are not following their own policy and it left a sour taste. I liked the store!! the store had such a beautiful collection of rocks. but i am very disappointed in the workers inside. there was maybe 15 or more people inside, this place is fairly small so that shouldn't be happening in a global pandemic. i noticed sometimes the workers wouldn't have their masks on correctly. when I went to checkout a woman packaging my purchases, took off her mask and licked the paper bag (that she later gave to me) and didn't put her mask back on. i beg the workers to please wear a mask the crystals won't protect you haha read more
