I'm not writing this review to discuss the produce or canned goods except to say that there is probably something there for you if you need it - not the place to shop if you want to prepare a gourmet meal. However, once you've got your meal figured out and you want a nice bottle of wine or a craft beer - this is the place to be. I was first impressed with the many different craft beers - many from Vermont and the North East as well as my favorite from Escondido, CA Stone IPA - what a beautiful site. However, once I fond the wine selection, it was wonderful. Not only were there some great local wines, California wines, Imports and wines from various other regions of the country, including a wonderful Syrah I got, from Washington. Turns out it was rated at 91 points by Wine Spectator and olnly cost me less than $20 - sweet! And it was good - not sweet, but big and bold the way I like my Syrah! so, if you need a quick loaf of bread, milk, eggs or any other essential - then by all means come shop here. But if you are looking for a true choice of ADULT beverages, this is the only place I can recommend anyone from the Lake Bomoseen KOA Kampground.

It's a restaurant supply/food service company that so happens to have an "open to the public" retail operation as well. You'll find meats, seafood (including live lobster), produce, GIANT containers of mustard, ketchup, hot sauce, olive oil, you name it. They've also got plants/flowers for sale outside in the front. Inside also contains bread, milk, cheese, really all of the "essentials." In a pinch they do sell single rolls of toilet paper like you'll find in a hotel, and paper towels. They have some kitchen utensils if you're in need. Hell, I picked up a bottle of windshield washer fluid here too. Added bonus: they carry nuns of new skete cheesecake! If you aren't familiar with this, google it. It's made by local nuns and is delicious, puts Sysco to shame. $36 for a 4 lb cake. If they don't carry something here that you need, you can find it the dollar general or CVS that's right down the street. Despite not being anywhere near a full service grocery store, Green Mountain Food Service's store is a godsend for the depressed town of Whitehall. Remember to bring cash, or if you're someone who pays by check (how many people do that anymore?) you're covered. Same with EBT, that is accepted. GMFS does NOT accept credit or debit cards. There is an ATM and a restroom on site. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Saturday. The store is closed on Sunday.

He was shoving furniture around and near chased us out of the furniture section. Pushing a heavy flat furniture box right at my childs feet nearly knocking her down and right behind my back. I turned around to see her pinned up against large standing piece of furniture. The manager never apologized. He just glared wide-eyed and said "I was watching. I have kids of my own!" This employee should not be working so closely to customers that if they take a step back they are going to get hit by what he is kicking around. Especially near children who often move abruptly and sporadically, especially when frightened. This is a threat to public safety. I will NOT be going there again. And I don't suggest going there with children. It is not a safe place and does not uphold community integrity.

They have a cooler with ice cream, lots of snack items, and some pantry staples. They also have a decent part of the store dedicated to Adirondack souvenir items...a good tourist stop for a memento without dealing with parking hassle in Lake George. The woman working was very friendly and wrote down both sub orders for my brother and I and they were made quickly and we were home in no time eating them on the patio. The bread is soft and the veggies were fresh. Not being a meat eater I did cheese and veggie only (american cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo) and the portion was still great. My brother who did turkey had quite a bit of meat on his...not bad for the price ~$6-7 each. We enjoyed the homemade mozzarella sticks, which were fresh tasting and not soggy at all. I had the chicken pesto pizza to myself, which I polished off. It was delicious and filling. My girlfriend is a vegetarian, and she had the veggie burger and fries, which she thought were excellent. She was very pleased that the waitstaff and the cook double-checked and informed her of the cooking method. Service was excellent. The food was delicious. The beer was cold and delicious.
