My mother and I were out for a nice Sunday drive, as you do, when we came across this park in Inverness. We only discovered it because we like to go down into the city center when we go into a town to see what it was like in the past... most often the main thoroughfare through a town these days bypasses the original downtown, so you have to do a bit of searching sometimes to find it.
Situated on the shore of Henderson Lake, the park has an expansive area which is good for a number of activities. There are also public restrooms available, and a children's playground at the South end for the little ones.
At the time we arrived, there was a Halloween gathering put on by the city, so lots of kids were there trying their luck and winning prizes. The park is setup for just this sort of thing, so it was a nice experience.
Keep an eye out on the city website for upcoming events and take the time out of your busy lives to experience some of them! read more
