The process to get in the class is easier than any other permit to carry classes in Minnesota. They even offer you to bring someone to class with you they have enough room in the class to accept them after you sign up. AJ has a lot of training behind him and has serviced our community in many ways. First experience was I signed up for an intro to pistol class on June 23rd and was in the store when the trainer called to cancel stating that the range had flooded so the class was cancelled. I know things happen so I went ahead and rescheduled for two weeks in the future for Tuesday July 7th 2026. And the young man behind the counter that evening was so nice and helpful that I decided to reschedule. The trainer for that class was a jerk!! I am a marksman with the M16 and I used to carry a .36 for work about 30 years ago. I was nervous when we got on the range as it had been a while and IT'S A GUN. He was snotty and rude when I asked him for help. Then he proceeded to make fun of me and said "Weren't you listening in the class?!?" An absolute jerk. I was not happy to say the least but in my mind I thought I would avoid his classes in the future and never have to see him again. So I proceeded to sign up for the $30 a month membership fee so I could practice and obtain my license to carry at some point. Since that class on June 7th I have been there three times (today would have been the fourth.) I had experienced great customer service and helpful gentleman behind the rental counter. Last Saturday July 11th the men behind the counter were very nice and helpful and I learned alot from them. I go by myself and use the members lane simply because I don't know anyone that is interested in shooting and I started this hobby as a form of personal protection so it was amazing all the things I learned on this day in particular. I recently applied for my permit to purchase and was planning on buying a 9mm from this establishment. Now today Sunday July 19th 2026 in the morning shortly after opening, I went in to rent once again as I have been doing without issue. I stood at the rental counter and watched two young men messing with a rifle pointing it and talking and stood there waiting for someone to help me so I could rent a pistol. One young boy stood facing me and completely ignoring me. I waited and finally the short blonde boy at the register asked if I needed help which I replied, "Yes that is why I'm standing here." Come to find out that I need a permit to carry/ purchase, my own gun or someone with me. This makes total sense to me but up until this point nobody has asked for these things and I have rented without issue. The tall blonde boy says, "We don't want you to off yourself." Ummmmm...who tf says that?!?! I'm like omg wtf is happening?!?! I decided to cancel my membership as I realized that this place is not following their own rules and apparently they just rent to anyone with only an ID. How scary is that?!?! There are plenty of places to go in Minnesota so I'll take my money elsewhere. As a consumer I just want to give an honest review of what I've experienced here. I would recommend checking out other ranges before coming here. I will be cancelling and getting my money back for the permit to carry class as well and taking it elsewhere. I believe everyone can benefit from these classes. The classes I took were Progressive Pistol, Progressive Carbine, and also Night time shooting. The instructors, Craig and Tony are great guys. Everyone in class was awesome and the environment was upbeat and everyone had a great attitude. The perfect place to learn and ask questions. Safety was stressed and at no time did I feel uncomfortable. I loved the fact that we were taught multiple techniques and were encouraged to find the ones that worked the best for us. There was no "my way or the highway" attitude. I strongly recommend everyone take a class and get out and shoot. Previous to taking the class, I had shot a rifle a few times and a handgun twice about 8 years ago. Clearly a novice. Scheduling the class through the website via email was really simple. I was nervous about the whole thing. The safety of being around guns, my obvious lack of experience and skills and not getting what I wanted out of the class were some of my concerns. Within the first 20 minutes of class, all of those concerns evaporated. We went over safety rules for the class and in real life situations, and discussed options for defending your home. I improved my shooting skillz dramatically although there was nowhere to go but up! The instructor, Jeff, is currently in law enforcement and has extensive training and real life experience in stressful situations. To hear his perspective on home defense issues really opened my eyes. He gave us suggestions for home defense handguns and safes, evasion tactics and so much more. He also covered the laws in MN with regard to how you can protect your home. Overall, a really great day full of information. Highly recommended!

While waiting for family to get off work, I was able to find Quilter's Haven. It's located in a…read morenice area of Rosemount. Husband and I were greeted as soon as we entered the store. The lady was helping another customer, but stated she would assist us as soon as she could. This was fine with me as I would rather browse than be pounced upon. There was a class in session in a small room toward the back. They must have good classes as it looked as the room was filled with women and their sewing machines. There's a fine selection of fabrics on one side of the store,along with the usual notions, rulers, patterns and other supplies. Completed projects were displayed on the walls and throughout the store. Some of the projects had kits available for purchase. I did end up buying a nice holiday runner kit to make when I get home. Various models of Bernina sewing machines displayed for someone looking to purchase a top end machine. As the woman was waiting on me, she was kind enough to give me the name of a special quilt store to visit along our route home. If I lived in this area, I would definitely look into some of the classes offered here.
