She's also taking the ends from brown to a gray without damaging my hair!! And now that I want to take it all back to its dark brown again she's doing an amazing job. I've been to at least 4 salons while living here and they were all 'meh.' So the last place I cut my hair was in Denver. Loved it however flying to Denver to just cut my hair is not sustainable! Services: I came here to see Kayla and she did a marvelous job! I have naturally dark hair cause i am Asian and i just don't like the way Asian hair turns into that orange/bronze color when you bayalage it or lighten it. Kayla used the color wheel to get past those colors i don't like and it took 4 hours! We did baby lights. Worth the 4 hours! It would not fade into those colors I don't like either. I also got a haircut and she did a splendid job. I felt so pretty and young. Most of all, my husband loves my new hair! Vibes: all positive ones. Kayla offered me wine, coffee, or water at the beginning and during the middle of my hair being processed. I declined cause your girl has a small bladder. Otherwise I would have totally enjoyed the compliments! I figure my post can probably help my Asian gals out there with darker hair especially if you wanted to bring some color without that orange look, now you know where to go! Happy pampering!

When I set the appt I asked for Taryn as that was who I was recommended to. She is a curly specialist and WOW was she knowledgeable. Overall my experience with her was top notch. Taryn gave me an overview of what would happen during the appointing and has a big focus on client education. She walked me through every step and every product. Note: I am sensitive to scents due to having migraines and she was so respectful of this. Taryn had me smell the hairbath and conditioner to make sure it was not too strong before we even started. Taryn told me about the products and how and why you use them including the order and what they do for you. She educated me on how to get your curls looking your best. Overall, if you have curly or wavy hair and want to know how to take care of it and what it could look like at its best - GO HERE NOW! The education alone is worth every dollar!!! Sadly for me I learned 2 things I didn't anticipate: 1) I have a natural swirly in the back of head that will just kinda have a bald spot, its not just the way I style it 2) I was apparently already doing a fairly decent job, though Taryn did take my curls up a notch :)

Pros- decent haircut, super friendly stylist with AMAZING product knowledge. Cons - my haircut and deep condition took over FOUR hours!! She began my apt right before 4pm and I didn't leave till 8:30. While it's clear that Victoria knows curly hair like the back of her hand (and IS the curl care expert), a four hour haircut isn't an awesome sounding time commitment for anyone. I booked a follow up appointment for a few months from now - hopefully this time it won't be so time consuming!

A simple courtesy acknowledgement that I am there waiting or a text that he's behind would be client friendly but he has never ever done that. I've waited up to one hour frequently with no apology. I decided to try a new approach, figuring my hair hasn't worked in years, lets see what Jeans suggestions can do, 'what can I lose if it has looked awful for years', was my approach. So basically, I picked the perfect hair stylist to step out of my comfort zone in over 10 years, and my hair has never looked better!!! I am seriously in shock and so is my boyfriend and close friends. My hair has life, health and body all from a gloss color and hair cut. Who would have thought in a minimalist hair situation. Jean is that talented! Because I sat back and listened to Jean's recommendations, I now have hair I didn't think I could have back. I called earlier in the day to see about a simple shampoo and blow-out/style and got a 3:00 pm appointment. When I got there the two gals were running late, and I had to wait a half hour before getting a chair. I was a little perturbed by that, but understood. Ashley was my stylist. And when she started my shampooing any irritation from waiting went away entirely. Wow! Her fingers were like heaven! The actual blowout was spectacular, too. I've traveled all over the world and have been to all sorts of salons, and many times it's taken two people to get me out in an hour. But Ashley was a master and not only got me on my way within 40 minutes but did a beautiful job, AND it only cost $20. I was so impressed with her I made my appointment for next month when I'll be back. (She's only there on Sundays.) Ashley rocks!

Let me give a little background. When I was little, my mom always took me to walk in haircut…read moreplaces like Great Clips. I always received horribly inconsistent haircuts and usually ended up looking like an idiot for a couple days after. You see, my hair is incredibly thin and straight as an arrow. In order for my hair to lie down and act correctly, it has to be kept relatively long. Otherwise, it sticks straight up and can not be tamed no matter how much gel, hairspray, or other products I use. Fast forward to me as an adult. I no longer trust my hair to just anyone. I have a handful of people that I trust to cut my hair correctly. That was until I had a couple of great experiences at Great Clips in downtown St. Louis. My hair was cut the same way each time and always turned out well. This was probably my downfall... When I needed a quick cut about a month ago for a business meeting the same day, I didn't have the option to go to any of my regular places. I really needed a haircut immediately so I threw caution to the wind and went to Mastercuts in West County Mall. I was clear with the stylist that my hair would stand straight up if cut too short. I told her to just take a little of the length off. I should have realized that something was seriously wrong when I saw large volumes of long strands of hair falling into my lap, but I didn't realize there was a serious problem immediately. When she was done, I noticed that my hair was short. I mean "can see my scalp" really short. The next morning after washing it, it would not stay down no matter how much gel I applied. I seriously considered shaving my head or buzzing it close, but my friends and coworkers talked me out of it. Each one said it would grow out in a few weeks. Flash forward to a month later... My hair is finally getting to the length that she should have cut it to in the first place and I will never return to this store. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the stylist, but I'm not sure I really want to remember at this point.
