The most amazing freshly baked Turkish bread is placed in front of you before the meal, along with a spicy tomato dip and olives. It's so good, it's hard to stop, and then there is no room left in your tummy for the feast of your main! Also, for drinks- the house red is quite tasty for the cheapest option. Every time someone is visiting us from out of town and we want a nice meal, we bring them here. Our options were pretty limited, but Yildiz was open and we decided to give it a shot. Neither of us was at all disappointed. I had the chicken kebabs while my buddy went with minced lamb. Both came with rice, bread, salad, onions, and all sorts of goodness. They grill the meats over charcoal right in the front of the store, so you know it's being done fresh. My friend let me try his lamb too, and it definitely had some spice to it, but was very delicious. The service was pretty quick, though we were the only ones there at the time. You just have to be patient while they grill your meats. And price wise it was very reasonable for lunch. All in all, this was one of the best meals we had in London. If I'm ever heading back to the neighborhood (which would almost certainly be for an Arsenal match), I'll be sure to stop in again.

We noticed there was no food hygiene rating displayed, which immediately raised a red flag. When we asked about it, the staff said they "didn't know"--even after we pointed out that it's a legal requirement. We looked it up ourselves and found they currently have a Food Hygiene Rating of 1 (as of February 2025). The fact that this wasn't disclosed--and that they wouldn't admit it even when asked--is incredibly concerning. Transparency matters when it comes to food safety. Would recommend caution until they address this properly.
