I tend to like Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir, so it wasn't surprising. I was excited to try the Nebiollo after hearing the hype around Mexican Nebiollo and never having tried that type of varietal before. The grape is typically grown in Italy, but the Guadalupe Valley has a reputation for producing excellent Nebiollo wine. The verdict? I found it to be a bit reminiscent of Zinfandel, with a finish that was slightly peppery. It was still a great wine to enjoy, but because of that I preferred the Cab. I would definitely like to try some of their other wine varietals. Looking forward to being able to do that in person someday after the pandemic.

They have a large outside seating area where people can relax in the shade. We also had a mini cheese/meat charcuterie box which is nice when your looking for something to snack on. I do wish I could order some wine from their website though.

What once was a very small beer bar is now a small (they expanded about 10 feet) beer bar in the corner of Coliectivo 9 on Revolution Ave. You aren't likely to find any other tourists here but have no fear. Order a bottle of local Tijuana craft, ask for the game of Jenga from the bartender and plop down at a table with your friends. The mood is light, the pace is slow and the beer is cold. Can you really ask for much more from a humble operation? I think not. Hungry? You're in luck! There are still a slew of local food options dotted around the perimeter of Colectivo 9 but the longterm tenants such as the empanada shop still rank as my favorites. Oh yeah, the A/C is kickin' so this should definitely be your TJ hideout on the hotter days of the year. Just don't bring too many friends...

Though not as sprawling as the operations mentioned above, you'll find an undercurrent of younger chefs and bartenders collaborating an a fun concept right off one of Tijuana's most infamous thoroughfares. From truffles to savory empanadas to craft beer bars, they've got their bases covered. Regarding the latter, Barrica 9 might be one of the few bars specializing in craft beer anywhere in the immediate proximity. Taking a page out of their neighbors to the north, this place could fit in nicely in a neighborhood like South Park or North Park, San Diego. A crevice of a space, they have upwards of 30 different bottles you can try, as well as a few craft beers on tap. They even feature a handful of Tijuana microbrews that you won't find anywhere north of the border, so it was great to see the trend that's been fire in the states crossing international lines. If this is a sign of things to come, Revolutión Boulevard just might transition from a sinful place of decadence for 18 year old coeds, and more of a respectful destination for gourmands and fans of quality food and drink alike.

We were originally planning to visit four wedding venues, but Danny went above and beyond -- thanks to his insider local knowledge and great suggestions, we ended up touring TEN venues in one day. There's no way we could have pulled that off without him. At each stop, he dropped us off right on time, picked us up promptly, and even helped communicate with venue staff so everything ran smoothly. It really felt like he always had our backs. He also made an amazing last-minute lunch recommendation that turned out to be one of the highlights of the day. Danny got us home safely, and we're so grateful for how easy, fun, and seamless he made the entire experience. I truly cannot recommend him enough -- 10/10 would absolutely book again.
