The store has plenty of liquor options and they have very nice collectors bottles as well. The prices are fair and much cheaper than downtown. We were unsure of the size and he made sure we knew was we would be able to cross over with. The parking lot has two security guard that are very attentive to the customers and keep the area well secured. Nice little place to shop.

I tend to like Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir, so it wasn't surprising. I was excited to try the Nebiollo after hearing the hype around Mexican Nebiollo and never having tried that type of varietal before. The grape is typically grown in Italy, but the Guadalupe Valley has a reputation for producing excellent Nebiollo wine. The verdict? I found it to be a bit reminiscent of Zinfandel, with a finish that was slightly peppery. It was still a great wine to enjoy, but because of that I preferred the Cab. I would definitely like to try some of their other wine varietals. Looking forward to being able to do that in person someday after the pandemic.

The customer service was outstanding. Felipe really went above and beyond. He suggested we try the Penthouse (an IPA) and the Escort (a blonde ale), both great choices. Later, he even brought us a free sample of La Burra, a wheat beer that was so tasty. We ordered the fries, which came out perfectly crisp and topped with cheese- simple but delicious. I didn't realize they had a second floor, but we were lucky enough to go up and take some pictures from there. The view up there is definitely worth checking out. Hidden in a little indoor mall is one of the tiniest craft breweries I've seen -- just a window where they serve great craft beer, with a few tables to sit at. We tried a stout and an IPA. Both were very good-- the stout was low ABV but not watery and tasted great, and the IPA was around 7% and was quite hoppy and bitter, a true West Coast style IPA. You won't find tasters, but they serve 12, 16, and 20 ounce pours for between 30 - 45 pesos, depending on the size of the pour. They had an ad on the wall for beer brewing classes, too -- it would be a really cool thing to check out, especially if you're local. Estefany B. is right; the location is hard to find! Here's how to get there: go down the Pasaje Revolucion located at #942 Revolucion, and at the end of the hallway you'll see a little indoor mall. Azteca is on the basement level; there are signs once you get to the back of the Pasaje; Baja Brew Labs is there, as well. Viva la cerveza artesenal!

What once was a very small beer bar is now a small (they expanded about 10 feet) beer bar in the corner of Coliectivo 9 on Revolution Ave. You aren't likely to find any other tourists here but have no fear. Order a bottle of local Tijuana craft, ask for the game of Jenga from the bartender and plop down at a table with your friends. The mood is light, the pace is slow and the beer is cold. Can you really ask for much more from a humble operation? I think not. Hungry? You're in luck! There are still a slew of local food options dotted around the perimeter of Colectivo 9 but the longterm tenants such as the empanada shop still rank as my favorites. Oh yeah, the A/C is kickin' so this should definitely be your TJ hideout on the hotter days of the year. Just don't bring too many friends...

Though not as sprawling as the operations mentioned above, you'll find an undercurrent of younger chefs and bartenders collaborating an a fun concept right off one of Tijuana's most infamous thoroughfares. From truffles to savory empanadas to craft beer bars, they've got their bases covered. Regarding the latter, Barrica 9 might be one of the few bars specializing in craft beer anywhere in the immediate proximity. Taking a page out of their neighbors to the north, this place could fit in nicely in a neighborhood like South Park or North Park, San Diego. A crevice of a space, they have upwards of 30 different bottles you can try, as well as a few craft beers on tap. They even feature a handful of Tijuana microbrews that you won't find anywhere north of the border, so it was great to see the trend that's been fire in the states crossing international lines. If this is a sign of things to come, Revolutión Boulevard just might transition from a sinful place of decadence for 18 year old coeds, and more of a respectful destination for gourmands and fans of quality food and drink alike.

The food was nothing special for bar fare, but my expectations weren't high when the total equivalent US price was approximately $12. It was helpful to learn from other customers that the line to the left side of the bar was designated to order food only. I didn't drink any of the beer, but my friends who did imbibe seemed to enjoy the brews for such a low price.
