The service was slow, which we forgave because we showed up right after a big family, but that didn't really excuse the dirty plates. Also, our food came out in this order: my husband's dinner, appetizers, my dinner, forks. We had to put an extra plate over his food to keep it warm while we waited for him to get a fork to eat it with.
I love the food in Oaxaca, but after more than a week of mole and cheese, I thought it might be nice to take a little break. I came here because I saw the delicious-looking shrimp pasta in someone else's yelp review. Attached is a picture of my shrimp pasta. There was about a quarter-inch of tomato water at the bottom of what I thought was going to be a garlic and oil-based sauce. Very bland and watery.
But I probably would have let all of that slide (kind of my fault for trying to get Italian food in Oaxaca) if my husband and I both hadn't woken up around midnight after our meal to struggle in the bathroom. I'll spare you the details, but it was no fun. I'm kicking myself--the first time I got sick visiting Mexico, and it was because I tried to find some American-style comfort food. Whoops! The rooftop was nice, and the wine was good, but I won't make this mistake again.
