The appointment notifications were being sent directly to him via text and email. I had NO CLUE of his appointment date and time. Nor did I know that he missed his appointment. I found out about his appointment and subsequent no-show from an email I received from Shallon informing me she cancelled MY PERSONAL appointment because my son missed his appointment. Trust me, had I known he had an appointment he would not have missed it. She sends me this passive aggressive email berating ME for my adult son missing his appointment alluding that it was my responsibility to let her know and apologize to her for him missing the appointment. I HAD NO CLUE!!! She has my phone number, she could have called me to let me know what happened. I would have happily paid for the missed appointment. I have been a responsible client, have always booked expensive appointments and have tipped her very well, even bought different oil concoctions she's sold in her shop. Along with her canceling my appointment without her contacting me directly, she goes and pettily removes me from business IG page like I wronged her somehow. If you are congested, she likes to use eucalyptus to open up those nasal passages. Just a little background on me: Today, I sat down and finally counted the # of massage therapists I have tried in Columbia for a deep tissue massage. The total? 8. Yup, at several other brick-and-mortars in the city. I like a true deep tissue massage, not gentle Swedish strokes though she does offer Swedish as well. She hits my tension knots every single time without missing and I consistently leave much more relaxed and relieved. Jen truly has a gift of a healing touch as well as a caring empathetic bedside manner to her. She will make you feel at ease instantly. This ME is clean. They have spaces for people to wait. All-in-all I would say my experience has been great. I was suffering from round ligament pain especially to the my right hip - it had gotten to the point where any movement or reposition was painful and I was having difficulty walking and sleeping and nothing helped - warm baths, Tylenol, off loading, nothing. Liz was very personable over the phone and easily set me up for an appt. This spa is located in the Old Mill area of Lexington downstairs where Pooleoza is at. Doesn't look appeasing to the eye when you walk down there but her spa was really nice, spacious and beautifully designed. She greeted me immediately, I filled out health form, she asked me a couple of questions about my pregnancy to ensure I wasn't a high risk pregnant momma, then she informed me of the details of the spa. The room was really nice with brick walls and the table was specially fitted for pregnant women with a special massage pillow. The music was really relaxing. The massage was awesome - she really works the kinks out. Went she got to my hip - I wanted to weep in relief, those stretches and massages felt so good. It lasted about 1 hour. Afterwards I was completely relaxed. My hip was still in pain that night but the next day and there after, I have not experienced any pain in that hip since, that massage was really what I needed. I would highly recommend her and if I still lived in the Columbia area I would go frequently until baby is born and afterwards. Every woman needs that!

(So far, same day if not as soon as you can get there. Probably because they aren't too busy.) For me, this is pretty important because I primarily get a massage after I've overdone it physically and am sore or tight (like after a very long drive.) I don't get them for pampering, which can be scheduled well in advance. I also like that you don't have to sign up for a membership. On the negative side (the reason for the loss of a star), communication is often challenging. English is definitely not their first language. So small talk or conversation beyond explaining how long you want, and how firm, and what areas to focus on is unlikely. I suspect if I spoke their language (Mandarin? Cantonese? Vietnamese?) it would be better.
