Oh, how times have changed. We have been a very long-term client. Back to the days of Don Martini, the old owner. The level of service has gone way way down. Especially since they have merged with Wayne Alarm. There is always a problem with our system. 95% of the techs they send out don't have any clue what they're doing, the office staff is awful and will tell you things that are blatantly not true. If you want a good Team to monitor your alarms and take care of your alarm system. This is not it! As a 25 year Customer, I can tell you we are actively searching for another service. I am so disappointed in Lexington alarm and Wayne alarm systems - Every time I pay the money to have the batteries replaced and the plastic window parts replaced, it is literally within 1-2 months that the system needs more repairs after the "professionals" have checked the system. They do not guarantee their work - even after I shared my concern and now refuse to come and remedy the problem I said would happen shortly after they left - which is more low batteries and false signals in regards to the carbon monoxide detector that they promised they checked recently. Not to mention, to return would be at my expense ... again. I would never recommend this company and regret I have used them this long. read more

We had our alarm system set up several years ago. It was not cheap, but that is ok because we expected a high level of quality and service. The installation went fine. However, the alarms constantly did not function correctly and Lexington would charge several hundred dollars to come out and fix the problems. Eventually we got tired of having to pay to get the alarms fixed and cancelled service. Not a good experience for an expensive service. read more

After telling me directly that Lex Alarm would never sell, the CEO has now sold. This company was going under anyways and I guess the CEO knew it. I hope his payout was not much. This company was only worth its customer base. I hope the company that bought them is more ethical than this guy. read more

I find the negative reiews odd (I could have written those about ADT, the previous company this house had- awful) I can speak only to my own experience . We have had monitoring for years with LA and some complex rewiring and other work. All handled with courtesy, reasonable prices, people turning up when they were supposed to and basically no complaints. I might add that our contractor who deals with many alarm companies around Boston agrees. Lex Alarm is easy to work with. ADT he says is a nightmare. In our previous house in a different state we had ADT (that's why we initially used them here) and they were absolutely fine, so I suspect the variability of performance depends on who runs the office in a given state. read more

I wish I could put 0. They installed fire alarm systems in our building a month or two ago. An obnoxious alarm has been going off every five minutes for the last 18 hours! I can hear it over my tv, a/c....it's giving me a migraine. And when I took out garbage, I swear I heard the same alarm in the dumpster. So either one of my neighbors in another building is brilliant or I will never get this sound out of my head! When I called I was told they weren't done with the installation which might be causing this problem? Seriously? How many months do you need to make an alarm work properly? read more

I purchased a home where a Lexington Security Systems was installed. After interviewing other companies I decided not to go with them. The salesman was angry and now I'm experiencing their revenge. The equipment is "malfunctioning" and going off early in the morning, 7 AM and at 1:00 AM. I have called the company repeatedly and their response has been that I must pay them $145 per hour of work in order to get the equipment uninstalled. Don't get involved with this company. I brought in a maintenance person who cut the power cord. Problem solved. Why would I need to pay $145. read more

These guys did some "fixup" work for us. They charged way too much for repairing bad wiring and other problems. The irony is they were the ones who sold and installed the junk that went bad. So we paid twice. To make matters worse, after over a dozen years of being a customer, they lost a couple of checks sent to them and then proceeded to threaten and harass me to pay again. Of course I cancelled the first set of checks and sent new ones but the amount harassment in the interval was odd and "alarming." (sorry, couldn't resist) STAY AWAY! read more

I had service with Lexington Alarm for years. However recently when I was looking to upgrade they canceled an appointment with less than 24 hour notice and deceived me about the reason why I later came to find out. I went back and forth with them finally the sent a technician out to my home and at that point told me they couldn't perform the service and would not disconnect the service. I told the technician to get out and he got aggressive and indirectly threatened me with profanity in my home. I called the police who came to my home and they called the Vice President and he would not release the name of his technician. Beware of this company. I believe they switched ownership and they don't protect you. They protect their own. There are more reputable companies out there you can feel safe with. read more

Lexington AlarmSystems, Inc. charged us for years for monitoring our home in Brookline, MA. But they actually weren't monitoring our home: In fact, after our phone company had come to repair the phone lines, the connection to Lexington AlarmSystems had been inadvertently severed by the phone company. We had no idea. Nevertheless, Lexington AlarmSystems continued to charge us for 2.5 years for monitoring (even though we weren't connected to their operator in case of an intrusion). When we brought this to their attention when the alarm went off and they did not respond, they told us it was our responsibility to see if the telephone line worked by testing it regularly. They did not refund us for any part of the 2+ years of "monitoring" during which there was no connection between our home and their company. We have now changed companies and are very satisfied with our new system. Our opinion, given our personal experiences with the company, is that no one should select Lexington AlarmSystems for home monitoring. read more
