We often go into the lovely coffee shop Lewis's have in Lancaster, polite staff, friendly, can't do enough for you. What a difference in Morecambe! It seems that the elderly and disabled aren't welcome here the food was good, although we had quite a wait even though there were very few people in but the staff seemed, at best, disinterested and at worst, downright rude! After our meal (which as has been mentioned, isn't a huge amount for the money), I asked where the toilets were I am very obviously disabled and can only walk with the aid of a walker and was told that they were upstairs. I said that I wasn't able to get up the stairs, whereupon the female member of staff remarked, with a smirk, that there was a bucket out in the yard and maybe I would like to use that! She may have thought she was joking, but I was offended and embarrassed and she evidently thought that my disability was amusing. I got a cursory apology which was grudgingly given, and my daughter complained to another member of staff about the attitude her reply was 'well, it wasn't me that said that' the other girl admitted it was her and said, in an accusatory tone, 'I apologised!' we most certainly will never be visiting this place again, and will be raising it with the staff in the Lancaster branch to take this further this is certainly no way to treat a customer! read more
