There is a large red sign at the front of the shop saying, rather misleadingly, PIANOS. Whilst they do sell pianos, that's really only scratching the surface. The first floor is mainly for classical instruments, whilst the basement houses the guitars, drum kits and amplifiers. There's a lovely corner full of classical guitars, where I can happily while away half an hour, given the chance. The staff are very friendly and never pressure you to buy. There are finance options available for some instruments, too - useful if you're lusting over that new Martin Acoustic, but haven't quite saved enough pennies yet!

When I found out that he also taught, I decided to take the plunge and get the lessons I'd wanted for a while. I phoned John (a friend had picked up his business card) and he took me through what I needed to consider and gave me some really helpful, impartial advice on buying my own accordion. John's a really patient and flexible teacher and is happy to work at a pace I'm comfortable with. He's always listened to me, taking the time to understand what kind of music I wanted to play and what I wanted to achieve, and choosing pieces at my level/ shaping the lessons accordingly.
