Tyler reviewed what needed to be done and agreed with me on almost everything except one tree. He said, No. We're not cutting it down - we're going to prune it, rebalance it and then feed it. Well, I had to agree with that approach. Saving a tree is a good thing. This morning, the crew arrived ready to work. They reviewed what needed to be done and got to it. There was no pussyfooting around with these folks. After the first crew completed the cutting that needed to be done, led by Steven, the second crew arrived, led by Troy. Both were just as dedicated to execute their tasks in the most responsible and professional manner. They used the required safety gear and they spoke to one another respectfully - with courtesy and consideration. It was quite impressive. Now anytime there's tree work, there's cool equipment and climbing. Which everyone wants to see so, attached are some photos of these fine gentlemen at work. If you ever need tree health assistance or tree removal help, do not hesitate to call the pros at Lusk Tree. I highly recommend them.

Trees Are Us did some significant tree trimming at our Burlington house. Being relatively new to…read moreBurlington, we did research on which company to approach with the job. Having had seven trees removed from our previous Durham property, I would like to say that I have at least a bit of experience working with tree removal/trimming companies in central NC. We selected Trees Are Us. The estimate process was easy-peasy. The pricing was very good. There were challenges of not killing a property line fence and access to one tree that needed serious work. Ronnie (Crew Chief), his deputy Miguel, and the rest of the crew arrived in a timely fashion on the cited date, with company notification via phone when they were enroute. Ronnie is super responsible, technically knowledgeable and his crew was very hard working. Ronnie and Miguel demonstrated that TAU has people with high level skill sets. The work done was superb. Nothing damaged and the post job cleanup was (no exaggeration) better than any of the Durham work done by other companies. Trees Are Us management: Ronnie is an excellent face of your company; a true ambassador of your brand. I also want to thank your scheduler, Wren, who - at her initiative - rescheduled us when a storm resulted in such wet ground that the TAU truck would have damaged our nice backyard lawn. That type of customer care is not often seen in today's businesses. Trees Are Us will get all my future work. In fact, I will call your office next week to inquire about the division of your business that plants trees as we might need a Japanese maple in front of our house.

It was a big job, and they handled it flawlessly from start to finish. From the first call to schedule the quote all the way through completion, their communication was top-notch. Dani, one of the owners, was amazing--attentive, responsive, and truly invested in making sure everything was done right. Every member of the crew was kind, professional, and clearly took pride in their work. To add some context, the neighbor whose property borders mine had given full, "cut whatever you want" / carte blanche permission earlier in the week--even sending a bulldozer GIF for emphasis--so everyone moved forward in good faith. Unfortunately, that changed mid-project, and both the company and I received a number of repeated and, at times, excessive phone calls raising concerns. What impressed me most is how this team handled that situation. Despite the shift and claims about minor gutter damage, they remained calm, respectful, and professional the entire time. They are fully licensed, stood behind their work, and navigated everything with integrity--even when the situation became unnecessarily difficult. They completed the job beautifully, cleaned up thoroughly, and made what could have been a stressful experience so much easier. Huge thanks to Dani and the whole team--I would hire them again in a heartbeat and recommend them without hesitation!

Very disappointing experience after previously being a satisfied customer…read more I have used this tree company in the past and was very pleased with their work--particularly the care they took to clean up my property afterward. Because of that positive experience, I chose to use them again. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different. I contracted the company to remove a specific tree and provided very clear instructions, both in the contract and in a large envelope taped to my front door and specifically addressed to the tree service. One of the instructions was to cut the tree at approximately 4 feet. Instead, the tree was cut all the way down to the roots. The damage and lack of cleanup went far beyond that: * My fence was damaged, including cracked/damaged posts and boards. * My neighbor's wire fence was completely crushed. * There were chunks taken out of my driveway. * Other trees were damaged, with chunks taken out of them. * Bushes were stomped on and broken, with some broken branches simply stuck back into the bushes. * A phone line was torn down from a pole. * Large limbs were left lying in the yard. * Broke my pathway pavers. * I ultimately had to clean up approximately seven 55-gallon garbage bags of sawdust, leaves, and branch debris myself. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I went out of my way to provide clear written instructions because I expected the same level of care I had received from this company previously. After contacting the company about the problems, their immediate concern seemed to be making sure they got paid. Ironically, if the crew had simply read the large note taped to the front door, they would have seen that the check was already waiting for them under the doormat. I am now being told that someone will come out to "fix" things. But I have serious questions about what exactly can be fixed. Are they going to repair or repave the damaged portions of my driveway? Replace the cracked fence posts and boards? Repair my neighbor's completely crushed fence? Repair the damaged trees and bushes? Restore the phone line? This is not simply a matter of cleaning up a few branches. There is property damage resulting from the work, along with failure to follow very specific instructions. I am especially disappointed because I had previously recommended and trusted this company based on my first experience. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would have a very difficult time recommending them to anyone else. I hope the company takes responsibility for the damage and makes a genuine effort to resolve the situation--not simply "fix" what is convenient to fix.

They have been recommended to us by a couple of our neighbors in the area. Luke Seamster quoted a fair price and did a great job for us. He is friendly, professional and easy to talk to. We actually ended up cutting 3 trees in the end because of the damage observed once the work started (two of them have been growing into each other). We were very worried about an old red oak in particular, which grew leaning towards our shed, and there was only a narrow path available to drop it without damaging property or other trees we cared for, but was in a different direction. Luke and his team put it down safely, exactly where they planned, so -great score on skill and experience! They worked fast, clean, listened to our requests and gave us good advice on how to save some other trees and on possible future concerns. In the end, we've been happy with the work done and we'll use their service again.
