I love the landing because it is a great place for a concert or any other event and parking is usually pretty good as long as you make a plan to arrive a wee bit early. The reason for 3 stars is that there is NO where to hide from the sun except a small overhang on the back wall. It would be awesome if at some point seating with umbrellas were put there. But once the sun sets, on a summer night the view is absolutely spectacular I am torn between the view of the Missouri River and city skyline and the concert.

I'm sure it didn't look like this when Lewis & Clark landed.

HISTORIC MILESTONE My 1300 review needs to be historic so why not choose two guys who traveled along some uncharted lands. They were technically the first two Yelpers in America at the time. I wonder what their Elite events were like. Imagine these two guys traveling up stream in the terrifying wilderness and dealing with the natives, the elements and wild animals. Lewis and Clark were true pioneers as they charted a new land that no American had ever seen before. I'm sure that money was their motivation as the fur trade was a very lucrative business back then. If they had actually reviewed this place they might have given it 1 star back in the day including references like, "We almost died!" and "Not a fun winter destination!" I simply wonder what their reaction was to landing here. I also wonder how much upper body strength they possessed to paddle up stream. If I close my eyes I can hear Lewis say, "I'm going to pump you up!" Please don't quote me on that if you ever find yourself on the tv show Jeopardy. The water heading south was very fast as I observed on the day we visited. I saw a water tuber fall off and then he was whisked down the river as the boat pulling him tried to catch them. Personally I would have been a little scared if this was me in the water. This was a fun little stop as we were on a business trip. Sometimes you need to stop and see the sights because you never know if you are ever going to come back. Thanks Lewis and Clark for getting out there and being the first to truly "Check In".
