When I had some electrical issues with my new converted van, that was NOT built by Levity, I reached out to Jimmy and his team. I could not have made a better choice. Upon inspection, they found multiple electrical issues that severely compromised the safety of my van. Jimmy was even kind enough to reach out to the guy who built my van, who unfortunately was not receptive to the safety issues that were uncovered. My second experience with Levity could not have been more different than the first. Where the first time they had been as helpful and friendly as possible, the second time they were the exact opposite: curt, dismissive, and even cold. I would even say bullying, like they were trying to be as awful to me as possible to prove some weird point. The contrast was distubring, unexplainable, and unprofessional. The Webasto altitude adjustment is a standard procedure. Should be 20 minutes. Levity claimed to have done it before, and I had already paid them $750 with an agreement they would do the burner insert cleanout, and the altitude adjustment. Documented and agreed to. The Rheostat started flashing when first plugged in (instead of after initiating the altitude adjustment mode). This indicates an error message that needs to be cleared. Standard. Jimmy simply threw up his hands and said "it's flashing" as if that were the most technically shocking thing for a component to do, and there was no way for anything to work out now, everything was a bust, and walked away. They tried it several times, and after 1 1/2 hrs Jimmy said he couldn't do it. He didn't offer to return my money, he didn't listen to my suggestions, and he was thoroughly curt and rude, just shuffling me off property. He already had my money, what did he care? He made a big hoo ha about the time and energy of the shop and how they had to move onto other projects. Absolutely no regard for my time, energy, nor any civil regard for me as an individual, nor legal regard for our agreement. Throughout, his attitude was completely innapropriate and irreverant. I was paying attention the whole time, and have read everything about these procedures. A single extra wire from the multi controller (the temperature sensor) was still plugged in when the rheostat was connected. This was causing the error message which would be cleared easily if that wire were unplugged. Then the adjustment would indeed be a simple 20 minute job. As I drove away, I realized this, and then did some research to confirm my intution over lunch. I drove back to Levity after lunch and explained this to Jimmy; he blew me off rudely and claimed "we already did that". Looking back, he didn't even listen to me, he just wanted to get rid of me. So unprofessional. Desperate to get this fixed (so I could continue to the climates I wanted to be in) I drove 8 hrs round trip the next day for another wild goose chase on misinformation by webasto. $100's of dollars of gas, my time and energy, all wasted. I was attempting to text with Levity throughout this. They were obtuse and unwilling to recognize their mistake, leaving me high and dry. In the conversation, it turns out that when Jimmy said "we already did that" he hadn't even understood what I was talking about, he thought I was talking about the grounding wire and wasn't even aware of the temperature sensor wire and why that was significant. So he literally wasn't listening or even trying to be civil, let alone professional. At any point they could have retracted from their weird obtuseness and just finished the job they'd already been paid to do. Finally, I got it adjusted at a shop that is competent after a nightmare of broo-ha-ha. And I was right about the extra wire, that is confirmed now. This was nearly two weeks after first contact with Levity. If you remember, the goal with Levity was to get me back on the road as quickly as possible. Jimmy could have saved me the extra week of driving around and stress, all the gas money and headache. The wire needed to be disconnected exactly as I had said, it would have only taken a few minutes. I payed them $750 to service the heater and make the altitude adustment. It's documented. They did not make the altitude adjustment. The heater works, but it makes a number of devilish sounds it didn't make before, including a terrifying loud rattling pressure release pre-explosion sound as it starts up (which it never made before) which has caused me to move the fire extinguisher into a more convenient location as I wouldn't be surprised if it blows up soon. And I doubt Levity would take responsibility for their poor work unless I took them to court. Le Sigh. Levity was rude, arrogant, dismissive, and even when I did their job for them in figuring out what was wrong, completely failed to be helpful and were rude and innapropriate even further. Do not give them business. The van build industry is dirty as hell, and we need to stand together and put bad apples out of business by refusing to put money into their greedy little hands. read more

The customer service and transparency is what you want from someone in the biz of custom vans or repairs. The price was fair and quality of work was tremendously high. I had a leak in my Webasto water heater that I really needed to get fixed ASAP. I reached out to Levity and they got back to me right away, even though they are super busy with van builds, etc. I should mention at the outset that they have a great scheduling system. They send you a schedule and estimate, and email and text reminders about your appointment. Very professional and efficient. Despite their busy schedule they got me in within a week. I met with Jimmy to have him evaluate the problem. He pulled the heater out, diagnosed the issue, fixed it and even fabricated a part to make the re-install super clean. He also corrected an issue with the fuel line I wasn't even aware of. I had the van back the same day - in a few hours in fact. Jimmy is a stand up guy who knows his vans. I'm very happy with the whole experience and definitely recommend Levity. Incidentally, they had just completed a van build and were delivering it to the new owner when I arrived for my appt. Jimmy and his crew received my newly-purchased van and gave me back a beautiful home-on-wheels. The first step was to fill out the online questionnaire which helped nail down the options I wanted in the van. Considering my last vehicle was a Tacoma with a Four Wheel Camper on the back, I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, but with Jimmy's help, we narrowed it down and he created an incredibly comfortable space. He incorporated the cedar ceiling I wanted, but used fasteners to give it an artistic flair. I had been planning on adding flares to the sides to give additional bed length, but Jimmy suggested modifying the walls to give the additional space and saved me the $2,800 cost of the flares. He also made suggestions for features I hadn't thought of, but that make the van more comfortable and livable, such as storage cubbies in the garage in what would have been wasted space, overhead lights with rheostats, and flexible reading lights above the bed. All in all, Jimmy created a living space that is much nicer than I imagined. Not having done anything like this before, I appreciated his willingness to offer suggestions, but the decisions were always mine. I highly recommend Levity Vans. read more

I had to be super delicate with my funds AND still try to get started on my dream van!
