Stopped in for league night and ended up having a blast from start to finish. I'm far from a pro, but the atmosphere made it easy to relax and just enjoy the game. The lane rotations took a minute to figure out, yet once I got the rhythm, everything flowed smoothly. The staff kept things organized and friendly without hovering. Our lane worked perfectly all night, which made the experience even better. There's a lively bar area to hang out between frames and a small arcade that adds extra entertainment. Oh my God, the people at the front desk are terrible. My kid went there to get his little brother bowling ball and then the lady at the front desk said this is f****** unbelievable. I think those people need to get retired or retrained. But overall, my bowling is fun, but they made it not fun. We don't need slobs like that. read more

Came here for league night as a substitute for my sister's extended family. Hey, I may be a terrible bowler, but at least I fail in style. I had to get accustomed to league rules (switching lanes confused the crap out of me), but had a good time. Staff was nice. I don't think we had any technical difficulties with our lane. There's a bar attached to the place, and you can play Quick Draw. Also an arcade room for the kids. Good times all around. read more

Levittown Lanes is a very big bowling alley with 36 lanes all on one side, with AMF 82-70 pinsetters at the end of each one. At first glance, the place looked nice, but it wasn't busy when I arrived. But, as time went on, it got busier, so that means a lot of people wanna bowl. I paid for four games on lane four (coincidence, i think not) and got to work hitting some pins. My first complaint is that the approach's dots aren't like what I'm used to. Usually when I go to Bowlero Commack or Larkfield Lanes, the dots on the approach are the right scale. However, the front one, which I normally bowl off of, immediately gave me a gutter ball because of how much I had little to no distance there. (They had three rows of dots instead of two) Another huge complaint I have is that they put some sort of weights in the bowling pins. When I think I leave a difficult spare, one of the pins just comes around and knocks another pin over. It can also be that pretty much every shot that should've been a strike, usually never was! (I only managed to bowl ONE STRIKE out of the FOUR GAMES) My wife also noticed and was upset with that too. My last complaint is how the scoring system is attached to the ball return. I usually keep my towel on the scoring system, but because I have a 12lb ball, and that the scoring system is attached, my towel usually falls off, making it inconvenient. All in all, I don't really recommend this bowling alley. Go to AMF Wantagh instead. It's bigger and they don't screw with the pins. 4/10 read more

Pretty awesome local bowling alley. I go with my husband every Sunday (or try to) for their special after 12:30pm. Recommended to call them to see if there is open lanes. Sometimes league take over and there won't be open lanes. It can get pretty crowded at times, usually before 3pm. It's not a bad after. Overall, glad to have it in my neighborhood! read more

So my family and I came here cause there was a good deal on Groupon. The place is ok- a little outdated and a musty smell when you walk in. What really annoyed me was that my daughter asked for fried pickles- 5.50$ for 6 little tiney round sliced pickles! Wtf serves that little for that much? One of my BIGGEST pet peeves came again today. These damn businesses that put themselves on the GROUPON circuit and then have a thousand exceptions. IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE INVOLVED WITH GROUPON, DONT SIGN UP WITH THEM! So I call up Levittown Lanes because all the reviews say call before you buy. So the kid who answers says I have to buy the Groupon 24 hours in advance. Ok. That's always the case. BUT THEN....I HAVE TO CALL ON THE DAY I WANT TO BOWL AND MAKE A RESERVATION. Super clean, fun and friendly place for anyone with any bowling experience. Keith, the general manager is absolutely amazing. He's friendly, he's knowledgeable and honestly just a genuinely down to earth guy. After talking to him, and experiencing these lanes, we not only feel welcome, but we will definitely be back. Some of the workers here are a little off and can take forever to get a game started. However the place is a decent size and Friday night they turn the lights off and play good dancey music. Pretty much everyone bowling late Friday night was in their 20s. $16.95 for unlimited games for 3 hours and comes with shoe rental. On Fridays after 11 pm girls bowl for just $5.00. I suggest getting bottled beer and stay away from the taps and food. I haven't felt well the entire next day after drinking their tapped beer and it's happened 2x. And no it was not a hangover. Honestly I lived across the street from here my entire life...I've had a few birthday parties here for my kid in the past..I had a birthday party here this past Sunday and when I tell you it was so bad..the hostess lady was clueless, she put out 1 pitcher of water for 25 kids...mind you I paid $25 a kid. The food was disgusting not to mention so what the person cooking the food. It's a good place to go and bowl and have a few beers but I would never have another party there again it was so bad. My boyfriend purchased a Groupon for 2 rounds of bowling here. We called on a Friday night to make a reservation and were told that we could not use it until after 9:00pm. Understandable, it was a Friday night after all. He also said that there would be no point in using the Groupon that night because it would be cheaper to pay for the rounds and save our Groupon. So we asked if we would need to call back and make a reservation for Sunday. The guy on the phone said no and to bring it our Groupon then and we could use it. We get there Sunday and he says we needed to call ahead of time to make a reservation. We explained that the person in the phone on Friday said that we didn't need to make a reservation for Sundays. ((Also the bowling alley was by no means full for them to be requiring reservations.)) He then proceeds to yell at us about us "wasting" our Groupon since it was cheaper to just pay and how he wasn't trying to argue with us. Why would we pay again for something we already paid for on Groupon?? And apparently paid more for, meaning he would actually be making more money. Also- this place looks like an AIDS Dungeon. I wouldn't be surprised if you stuck your hand in a ball and pulled out dirty syringes. If I enjoyed truck stop glory holes I still would not appreciate this establishment. read more

In the past I would've given this three stars, but since the prices went up a bit - I really would just go elsewhere if you're looking for a good place to bowl. Overall it's pretty dingy and run down, the music wasn't too audiable and yes, the location is random. Decent house. Not bad... but then again not good. It is dirty in there and my bowling shoes did get wet, thankfully not my slide foot, on the first ball that I threw. Someone had spilled something on the lane to my right and didn't clean it up. I have high end bowling balls that came back dirty from the lane and ball return each time. The bar is good. That have a nice selection and the bar tender does indeed buy back every 4th beer (give or take a pint). They often have karaoke there in the bar as well. read more

Avoid this bowling alley at all costs! Dumpy location, old and stretched-out shoes, and really the worst: cocky staff. The young guy behind the counter was rude to me and when I returned to try on a second pair of shoes, I saw him laughing with a league player. No one playing during "free play" (as the guy behind the counter called it) observed the rule of one bowler at a time. When I went to the counter for a refund at the end, a lady rolled her eyes at me and said to her friend "we have a serious bowler here" because I asked her to please tell her son not to use my bowling ball after he bowled twice already using it and he had two of his own. (It wasn't my bowling ball, it belonged to the alley but I only grabbed one at that moment.) Anyways, no matter how cheap this place is, it's not worth it. A small bowling alley stuck in the middle of a residential neighborhood. A strange place to find a bowling alley, nevertheless its there. It's old, kinda grimy. The bathrooms stink. Carpet is real old. The house bowling balls are really beat-up. My wife's bowling shoes were new, but mine were pretty broken in. Lots of kids around when we went. Computers are a bit outdated but did the job just fine. Not a bad deal for $19 for an hours worth of bowling (about 2 games) including the clown shoes. The crazy kids running around the alley were no charge. Also, NJ Grunts bar is attached to this alley. Years ago they had a lively karaoke scene. read more

Sitting at the bar...looking at all the dust, grime, mold and nasty crap all over. Obviously no one cleans. There is a drain on the floor behing the bar that has so much dirt in and around it. The people that work there are delightful. Its a bowlers community bowling alley. I cant wait till they can get those automatic doors that make it easy to get your many bowling balls in and out. But there's only 2 to 3 bowling alleys in NYC that have automatic doors. So that's par for the course. You have to bowl here as they have a unique ball reaction. The lanes Hook a lot. And I come here to work on my game for dry lane conditions that hook a lot. Last week the lanes didnt hook a lot. They threw us a curve ball. Always a great place to bowl to get better You have to add a star. Because Yelp extorts business for that 4th star. If they had automatic doors it would be perfect 5 star. But I'll be here bowling regardless and I always leave there happy!!! =D read more

I've been there a few times for bowling and maybe 50+ times for karaoke night. Yeah, I like karaoke. The NJ Grunt side is for karaoke. They have karaoke every Friday and Saturday night. The crowd is mixed with many regulars. I'd suggest going with a group of friends. read more

South Levittown Lanes is the perfect outing for my family. It is spotless, and the staff is very accommodating. My young daughter loves bowling here because she can pick up a light ball and get a strike with assistance from the ramp and bumpers. I would highly recommend a day trip (or Glow Bowl) with kids, as well as a fun date night at their newly renovated bar--equipped with several TVs--to catch games and enjoy a cocktail or two.
