Best experience I've had with a doctor since I've moved from Alabama to Florida. Personable and truly cares.

These appt's couldn't be combined into 1 visit per the office staff. During the 2nd ablation appt, I was told the 1st procedure still showed leaking in my lower leg, and I would need to schedule the ablation to be done in the lower leg. I returned for the follow-up ultasound on my right leg (2nd procedure) Oct 29th. The tech told me that the upper leg appeared to have no further issues and that portion appeared successful. I asked if she could tell me if there was still leaking in the lower portion of the leg, she said it would need to be reviewed by the doctor, he would let me know. I expressed to the tech I understood and wanted to get the process rolling with approval from insurance so I could have both lower legs completed by the end of the year as I would be out of the country and had met my deductible and out of pocket. She said she understood and said the doctor would review and follow-up. Shortly after leaving the ultrasound appointment, I received a call from the office Manager, Carolina, stating the ultrasound tech can't give any information to patients and that I shouldn't have asked. The information could only come from the doctor. I explained that the information regarding my lower leg was relayed to me by the tech the first time, so I asked this time as I wanted to get everything done before the end of the year, explaining to her the same that I had previously explained to the tech. Carolina kept insisting the tech couldn't tell me anything, and I shouldn't have asked. I asked if I had upset the tech in some way and she said no, you can't ask a tech those questions. I was confused as to the reason for the phone call as this same information was already relayed to me, I didn't push for information, raise my voice or anything, I solely expressed the urgency and reason. After the call with the office manager, I received a call from the doctor regarding my call with Carolina. Carolina was present during the call with the doctor. I explained the importance of getting both lower legs done before the end of the year due to work schedule/time off and the insurance portion. The doctor confirmed during that call on Oct 29th I needed the second of the lower legs done and assured me the referral would be sent over to insurance right away for approval. I asked the doctor if there was anything I needed to do or if I needed to contact the insurance company. He stated, there are people in the office that handle all of that so the patients don't have to. Fast forward to Dec 3rd, I arrived at the office for the first of the two lower ablation procedures. At that time, I asked about the referral for the second leg, and after 4 weeks, nothing had been done! No request had been put into the insurance company. I asked the lady at the front desk to please reach out to the correct person and have them get on the approval, she said she would pass along the information. A week after the first lower leg procedure was complete, I called my insurance company to check on the status for the second of the two lower ablations. I was told they hadn't received a request from the doctors office. It's been 7 weeks, and still no request sent to the insurance company after being assured by the doctor, they'd work on processing the request right away. And after reminding the office my last visit. I called to speak with the office manager on Dec 13th. She was out of office and returned my call on the 16th. I asked her to recall that I had been in numerous times for both procedures and ultrasounds and reminded her of our phone call along with the one from the doctor. I expressed my disappointment with the lack of follow-up from the office and the negligence of doing their job. At no time did she accept that she was at fault, she put it on the billing dept. I reminded her again of the call with the doctor stating if he included her on the call and was assuring me we had plenty of time to get approval and the procedure done within the 4 weeks remaining for the year, it seemed like she was being included to make sure all the i's were dotted and t's were crossed. Again, she blamed the billing department taking no accountability. At the end of the call I reiterated the importance of having the procedure done for and told her I would be writing a review of my experience so others were aware if we couldnt get this straightened out . She asked me to give her a couple of days and she would get back to me. Theres nothing they can do now because it's too late and insurance can't approve before end of year. This doesn't even begin to tell all the problems with them requesting me to bring bandages back from the first procedure to the second. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone.
