They left us alone to browse, as we requested, but then showed up when we needed their advice. We've found the store clean, well-stocked and the sales genuine. Maybe not the largest BB outlet, but not sure what else we could expect, and sorry others have found unpleasant issues here.

Most shops have already moved on to the spring stuff by now, but Van Heusen had a good stack of sweaters and pullovers. In decent sizes, colors and wow, the prices were excellent. I liked it so went to to the register to purchase it. Nary a greeting was uttered by the lackluster guy at the register. And after paying more than I should have in retrospect for the top, this lamebrain took it from the tousled heap he had made of it on the counter and deposited said "heap" into the bag. Oh...he asked me first if I wanted a bag. I had a tiny purse with me and nothing else. Yes, I want a bag even though in your eyes you want to make me out as a wasteful person hence your question because in this day and age no one should want a bag...ever. I am not going to walk out of there with a shirt slung over my bare arm. "Just give me a freaking bag", I wanted to yell. My husband thought I should return the overpriced top after such crappy service but that meant I would have had to spend more time in this awful store. After the payment transaction and before leaving the counter, I took my too expensive top out of the bag and proceeded to fold it properly as should have been done to begin with. It's in the middle of a major renovation so, there was a large tent where the women's and men's clothing was located and you couldn't get to the giant boot for a photo - but they had a temporary option set up with their boot car. Cute. I loved walking through the Home and Outdoor stores and shopping for items I've never seen in person before. This is a very nice corporate headquarters and flagship office area. Some things are ridiculously overpriced (Internet search!), and I willingly paid... because I wanted to. Many of the quality items, IYKYK, are completely worth it because you'll own them for life. After browsing the candy store and going into the wrong store due to a mistaken idea about which display window belonged to whom, I ended up in J Crew. I can't recall ever being in one of these chains before, perhaps because most of my clothes came from the 50s? Anyway I hit pay dirt. My rain boots are pink. And are you ready for this? They have little bicycles all over them!!! It was like somebody made them just for me. Best of all I only paid like $30 for them because it was an outlet store. I strolled out of there happier than when I left the candy store. And that's really saying something for a girl like me. Um, I also think J Crew sells clothes, but I can't confirm that. ; )

The music was on point for its' vibe--which is funny to say, but you notice when it's annoying. I was greeted kindly and offered help from every employee I passed by. Jamie(the manager, I think?) was especially friendly, which I really appreciated that day. The clothes are classy, good quality, and--unlike most clothing stores--better to shop for in person than online. I will definitely be back.
