What a strange shopping experience.
2 customers in the store, 3 to 4 employees.
Couldn't get anyone to help me, finally a woman acknowledged me when I asked to have a dressing room open.
This was after 10-15 min of shopping and choosing 7-10 items. No one checked on me or offered help.
This was likely because the employees were involved in a very intense discussion the entire time I was in the store. A deep convo with gasps and constant laughing. It almost felt like I had encroached on a party of 'cool kids' who were annoyed I had come near their space. I sort of started feeling bad that I was interrupting them with my presence.
I walked up to a register and an employee walked away without looking at me. Finally I just stood trying to catch someone's eye, and was finally able to pay.
Please note, this is a very small store. Everyone in the store can see everyone else.
I wanted a specific item, so I bought it. But, wow was that a far cry from the Levi's experience I used to know.
I went over to Ann Taylor loft after and what a difference: a guy welcomed me in, a woman tried to help me. An employee went upstairs to find something for me before I had a chance to tell him I would go up. The ppl at the register answered questions and smiled.
Levi's outlet store management could learn a lot from Ann Taylor outlet management. read more
