Tom was 1 of 4 estimates we received for the job. His prices were right in the middle of the other contractors, but he was the most knowledgeable, and gave us ideas for design. I'm very happy with the results of our project, and everything was complete and ready for move in less than 3 months after closing escrow.

I have never left a bad review but this contractor did such a horrendous job that I would give them…read more0 stars if I could. I guess that's what I get for going with the lowest bid. Due to severe water damage the bottom 3ft of sheetrock on our first floor had to be completely replaced with new baseboards and wainscoting. 1. They went in my garage and used my equipment on multiple different occasions (ie. my drill, compressor/nail gun, ladder) despite me reminding them they were not allowed to use my tools each time. 2. From the start of construction Tom knew they could come only after 3pm on week days. He said that won't be a problem. The contract estimated it would take 7-10 days to complete the job. It took a month and the job was never completed. The delay in schedule was because they no showed us several days in a row. Each time they apologized and promised to put in extra hours but then on the fifth no show they tried to convince me to hire someone else to finish the job because "scheduling is just becoming an issue because we have a lot of other jobs- it may be better for you to find another company to finish the walls." I finally got them to agree to come back the following Saturday to finish the job but then they no showed me AGAIN and as always there was no heads up or explanation. 4. They left a 10" hole in my drywall and when I asked them to cover it they nailed a MDF panel over it instead of patching it properly. In other areas they just packed on compound (instead of laying mesh) resulting in major cracking. 5. The plumbing in the bathroom was not damaged from the cold freeze so it was not touched by the home owner. They broke the water valve to the toilet so they told me they would repair the plumbing. They did it incorrectly and then never reattached the toilet that they removed. 6. Baseboards were left loose and unattached in multiple areas. They only put caulk in a handful of spots (probably in attempt to hide the bad cuts). The mitered cornered were incredibly sloppy and on rounded corners there were supposed to be bullnose corners which wasn't done 7. The wainscoting looked like they played "find a stud" with my nail gun- it shouldn't take more than one nail to secure an area and there were up to 30 holes in some areas which completely destroyed the panels. 8. Tom no showed for the final walk through and then refused to reschedule with me. Since he wouldn't meet with me, I had to resort to sending him photos (which I have attached to this review) to express my concerns. I asked him to send someone out to fix these issues and he refused. Since the job was never completed by them, I personally had to go out to purchase the materials to finish the job. I'm just glad I know enough to be able to do the remaining work myself, a typical homeowner would have to hire a new company to do it. They very well may respond to this because no company wants a bad review staining their reputation but I urge you to disregard what they have to say. We gave them ample opportunity to redeem themselves throughout this ordeal- their word is untrustworthy and their actions are unreliable. *update* reviews have not been posted on any other social media by me. They have an awesome design center and team (special shoutout to Luisa!) where you can make many great selections, but they also took my vision for custom flooring and cabinetry and made them possible as well! The quality of the team's work is amazing! They meticulously laid out our tiling and carefully installed all of our fixtures and everything looks and works great! We had gotten a quote from a corporate remodeling company before reaching out to Tico and it was astronomically higher and they offered no real customizations so we would have gotten a cookie cutter bathroom for double what I got my dream bathroom for. We enjoyed our experience with Tico Home Remodeling so much that we used them soon after the bathroom for another smaller project in our kitchen to replace old lighting as well. Initially hired All American Tile to remodel my bathrooms. They did an especially outstanding job…read morewith master bath. They transformed a 24 year-old shower/Jacuzzi combo with a doorless curbless walk-in shower. Which included floor to ceiling custom porcelain wall tiles, floor tiles, and a glass frameless shower enclosure. They removed/bricked up the outdated 5 x 5' shower block and replaced with a smaller more modern frosted window. The results are stunning. Both bathrooms vanities replaced with beautiful quartz countertops. The results were so nice that I was compelled to update my kitchen with the same bathroom countertops and then made a decision to paint the interior & exterior to match the bathrooms. Jose and Arturo painted my house (inside and out) to make it look brand new. The showpieces were the freshly painted kitchen cabinets and matching fireplace. The exterior was painted fresh and clean, and walking inside, was a wonderful experience like living in a new home with the same address. :-) My sales rep, Chad Williams, did a fantastic job with bathroom remodel recommendations and painting suggestions. He also provided a thoroughly detailed estimate, and I was not surprised by any additional charges. Contrary, there were a few minor changes of things I did not need, and the estimate was adjusted accordingly. My project manager, Erik Zamperini, kept the project on task and provided me with timely updates.
