Fall activities. These are fun for kids and adults!

The Lever family is so kind and they have created an amazing business for the community. We went in October to pick our own pumpkins, although they are also open for pick-your-own-strawberries in the spring. From the moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed with the hospitality of this family. We were guided into a parking lot and Mrs. Lever gave us an overview of the activities. For $6, you get to do the educational wagon ride (tractor ride), corn maze, corn pit, pumpkin toss, hopper balls, hay mountain, and cattle hoop activities. The first thing we did was the educational wagon ride with Mr. Lever, who gave some background on the farm and showed us the bees, animals, strawberry plants, and the troublesome peach trees. The wagon ride provided some nice insight into the life of a farmer and the struggles (and joys) that come with it. Next, we picked our pumpkins from the patch. It was difficult to choose which to pick because all the pumpkins had such a nice color and were in great condition. I liked being able to actually pick your pumpkin from the vine. You can also purchase some of the pre-picked pumpkins up front if picking is not your thing! The pumpkins are 40 cents per pound, which is a great deal. The Levers also sell their own pork and a variety of jams/jellies. Note that they only accept cash and check. This place is a must visit for families! I will absolutely be back next fall.

Lots of parking, no lines for food, and plenty of room to roam in the pumpkin patch. We grabbed a wagon and some clippers and found a pumpkin to cut off the vine. There are plenty of pre-cut pumpkins too if you'd rather just pick one that way (and take some cute pics). The wood-fired pizza was SO good and fairly priced. We really enjoyed the salsiccia pie, but all of them sounded delicious. And had to get a half dozen cider donuts for the road, obviously. I'm looking forward to returning when our kids are a bit older to try more of the family-friendly activities!

I absolutely love this set up even more than the last location! There is so much for kids to do here and lots for adults too. We picked our pumpkins for the season and considering the amount of people here, there were still many great looking pumpkins. The lines were too long for the donuts/food so I didn't get to try any but I am hoping to eventually try the cider donut in the future! Definitely bring your friends and family here to check out the Hall Family Farm. Side note- I know the Halls from many years ago and they are a wonderful family! If you see them around be sure to meet them!!!

Although, it was easy to make a reservation and there were a lot of time slots to choose from. This included seeing the animals (goats, pigs and bunnies), walking in the flower fields (a sunflower field and colorful flowers), the playground and taking photos. The playground really was not much and I think older kids would've gotten bored easily. For an extra fee, there is a corn pit to play in, a wagon ride and a train ride for kids. We did not do these. There wasn't a ton of places for photo ops, but there were some. They have a shop with goods for sale as well as some snacks and drinks like apple cider, slushies, apple cider donuts, alcohol, etc. We went the weekend after Halloween, so there weren't many pumpkins to see/choose from, but if we went earlier in the season I'm guessing there would have been. On the opposite side of the property, there was a Thai restaurant and a shop that served ice cream and alcohol. There were plenty of picnic tables and even a couple TV's showing football. This was a bit of a walk to get to, though. They also have pizza which you have to order ahead of time with your reservation if interested, but I've heard great things about the pizza. Keep in mind it is only porta johns, like many pumpkin patches. All in all, not my favorite pumpkin patch in the area, I questioned why we needed a reservation and to pay, it really didn't include much, but I'm wondering if we would've had a different experience if we went earlier in the season.

There's lots of land, two protected flower tends and a beautiful room inside, which can host a small intimate but beautiful event. The inside space is clean and well-maintained and even the bathrooms are comfy and cozy. One of the owners Julia accompanied by her assistant Kendell showed me around and told me all about blackberry Ridge Farm. Blackberry Ridge Farm is a CBD and hemp farm where they harvest these herbs to make natural products as well as a cut flower farm. Speaking of cut flowers, while I was there, I saw customers picking up the most beautiful cut flower arrangements. They also have a large selection of dried flowers which we intern used to create beautiful, decorative heart-shaped wreaths. If you are looking for a small, intimate place to host a gathering or a place to do a hands-on, creative event with your friends, family or coworkers give blackberry Ridge Farms a call they've got you covered.

It's a small family farm and they are always super nice. The strawberry fields are well maintained. It's not as large as some other places we've been, but we like that. There were a few muddy spots which was advertised and we had rain recently, but the paths were easy to walk. It was a busy day so they told us we would have to look under leaves to find the ripe berries. We still ended up with 2 lbs of berries and my daughter enjoyed. They tasted delicious, too. It was $4 per pound when we visited and they had jams and other products available. My daughter's favorite part is visiting the animals. They have some chickens and goats that are easy to get to. Sometimes they have corn out you can feed them with or you can bring some food to feed them. There's also a sink to wash hands after. Be careful with your strawberries or take them to the car first. I was taking a photo and a goat started to grab my bucket of strawberries. Lol. We haven't been to their fall event but love the smaller feel for strawberries. They post updates and info on their social media channels.
