Once in the room, the medical assistant took my vitals and listened to my concerns. He gave me the rapid swab and Dr. Gupta came in to consult, who was also very attentive and a good listener. The front desk faculty can be curt and direct and forgo pleasantries especially when there are a lot of people in line, but they aren't mean. Cons: * Wait times are hit or miss- either 20 min to 1.5 hr! * They don't allow cell phones, so bring magazines or e-books. * They are very strict on being a clinic that does NOT administer travel vaccines. So don't mention the word "travel" in the staff's presence or they will correct you immediately. I came back again to try and get a Hepatitis A vaccine shot for an upcoming trip to India, but got turned away because it was only for "high risk adults through age 59." Doesn't going to India make me high risk? I didn't know whether it was worth the effort to argue with the front lady on what is considered "high risk." Left disappointed.. The check-in process was quick, the wait time was reasonable, and the front desk staff was genuinely kind and attentive. NP Tammy was incredible she made me feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her bedside manner was so comforting, and the level of care felt just like seeing my regular PCP. If you're looking for an urgent care that actually listens, provides real treatment, and won't make you feel rushed, I highly recommend this location!

More Like CityPA: Disappointing, Incomplete, and a Waste of Time…read more I went to CityMD Park Slope and checked in using the QR code. That part was smooth and efficient. Unfortunately, everything after that fell short. The Medical Assistant who brought me in barely engaged with me--no warmth, no empathy, and just completely dead in tone and demeanor. She said, "The doctor will be right in," but instead a Physician Assistant came in, with no explanation or clarification. That was misleading. The PA, a male provider, was courteous but not thorough. He quickly flashed a light in my mouth, didn't use a tongue depressor, and didn't perform a proper examination. He didn't check my ears, eyes, or mouth properly. Despite that, he prescribed antibiotics without verifying whether my illness was bacterial. They swabbed me for strep which was negative and sent out a throat culture. What would have also been helpful is to rule out a viral infection, so a respiratory PCR panel should have also been ordered. That way if it came back positive, I would not needlessly start antibiotics that would not work. My illness turned out to be viral, so the antibiotics were not only unnecessary but also completely ineffective. That decision showed a lack of clinical diligence and wasted valuable time. I ended up following up with my primary care physician today who took the time to do a full evaluation and immediately noticed an issue in my throat that the PA had missed. My PCP was able to give me a proper diagnosis and appropriate care--something that should have happened at CityMD. It's incredibly frustrating to go to a facility expecting medical expertise and leave with poor care and more questions than answers. If there are no MDs available to review or confirm treatment decisions, then calling it CityMD is misleading. Be transparent and call it CityPA if that's who patients are going to see. Just a reminder to folks, your insurance likely pays for you to be seen by the MD so insist on it. In my experience, PA's are valuable team members for patient care but they often miss the mark when they assess you alone so you're better off seeing the MD to follow up after them. I won't be returning. Next time, I'll go straight to my own doctor from the start and I suggest everyone try to do the same.

Called them up and the billing department basically says yea no matter what . . . in-network, out-of-network, no insurance, doesn't matter: it's now $500 to walk into the urgent care for a visit whether they do anything for you or (in my case) nothing at all. What an absolute rip-off, number one. And number two, this needs to be transparent. Many people, such as myself, would opt to go somewhere else if we knew that they're going to bill this much just to walk into a room and a guy tells you that you have to go somewhere else.

But best of all, there was almost no wait time. An efficient clinician escorted me to an exam room. She was friendly and pleasant, recording my current symptoms along with my medical history and LONG list of medications. Dr. Dhillon was fabulous!! He also was friendly, pleasant and wanted to know my entire medical history. He took as much time as was needed to address all my questions and concerns. After the examination I felt completely confident in the doctor's diagnosis and the medications he prescribed. The prescriptions were transmitted electronically to my pharmacy. I was given a log-in to their patient portal. And best of all, they had absolutely no problem accepting my health insurance. Thank you Medicare & AARP. All employees starting with the front desk, medical assistant to x-ray technician and definitely doctor are outstanding, caring people. I will be returning soon since I have another mysterious illness.
