I had a very similar experience with Dr. Amy Lazarides as several other reviewers. After initially being triaged by the nurse, I waited over an hour in an empty room. When she did come in -- for maybe a minute --she was incredibly dismissive and rude. She made me feel small and stupid for raising a concern, and refused to make a referral for an ultrasound for a hard mass found on my hip bone, which is standard practice when a new, solid mass is discovered. I left the appointment feeling small, dismissed, and somehow embarrassed for having sought care at all. Really bad experience. Would not recommend. read more

I have to say, I am honestly surprised by the bad reviews! I went here in August and was seen by Dr.Pamela Klein and an amazing nurse who I unfortunately forgot the name of. I go to NYU Langone for all my health needs, but the brooklyn location is extremely subpar. I was feeling awful and waited in their emergency room for hours and was discharged even though I knew something was wrong. Since I wasn't satisfied with my level of care, I went to the nearest CityMD. And lo and behold, I had COVID! Don't hesitate to come here, they could save your life. I'm honestly surprised by the negative reviews here cause I had a very pleasant experience. I haven't been to urgent care in awhile so I was a little nervous it was going to be a long wait and very expensive even with insurance. To my surprise, my copay was only $30 (Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO) for the visit and I did not wait long to be seen. Plus everyone was very friendly which honestly weirded me out because 99% of my experiences at medical offices is usually people looking burnt out and underpaid. read more

I went to a City MD urgent care in Brooklyn Heights. I was evaluated by Amy Lazarides. MD. She was irritable, impatient, and didn't listen. She raised her voice and cut me off in frustration without even listening to my symptoms. She exhibited agitation the entire time. I barely got a word in. She was very unprofessional. She would not prescribe antibiotics. I was able to get a prescription from my primary care and my symptoms improved in a day. Definitely not going back. Waste of time and money. read more

Lazarides is condescending and appears to have better things to do. There is no comforting agenda. She may be wearing a mask but you can see it in her eyes. You get the feeling she bad mouths you when she's not in the room - she also just walked out after the consult as if she was annoyed with me for interrupting her day. Everyone was very kind and professional, to your face. While waiting on my xray results I could clearly hear a group of employees outside the door to my room making fun of a patient (maybe me, couldn't make that part out) because when asked how they were the patient said fine. No one wants to come to urgent care. If we're there we obviously aren't feeling 100% fine but don't make fun of people just for being pleasant, damn. Need medical service - don't go here - Useless - only saw an assistant nurse and "assistant physician" who told me they are not sterile and can't deal with my Elbow bursitis (ie drain it), which takes one minute and an actual medical professional should be able to do. Had a great experience getting tested for covid here. There was a long line but they were really efficient with getting it moving and the staff was kind and helpful - they treated us like human beings, it was great. Once they called me, I was in and out I got my results within about 20 minutes. read more

Frequent this clinic every 2-3 weeks for Covid tests. Clinic is clean & organized with well circulated air, which is important these days. Front desk ladies are professional, welcoming, friendly, willing to assist, and accommodating. I hope the ladies do not get/become discouraged by some of the unpleasant patients, who storm in, demanding to cut lines. Front desk ladies and their services & warmth are immensely appreciated. City MD, more like "sh*tty MD" has the most incompetent "doctors" . We really just go for the convenience of of it being close to home. Went for a simple covid test and the provider was condescending, rude, spent less than 1 minute with him. Absolutely poor bedside manners. This is the second time and last time I will ever use this place. Sooner or later, there will be a malpractice suit waiting for this place...my husband went in last year for a hand injury to which sh*tty MD doc said it was nothing and swelling would go away in a few days, after taking an xray of one view. When he went in two days later for a knee doctor appointment, surgeon took one look, told him immediately that his hand was broken, took multiple xrays to confirm and got casted. Go at your own risk but if it's for anything major, get a second opinion. These doctors don't know what they are doing. At all. read more

It was the best experience i've had being tested for covid so far (i've done it 4 times). The stuff is wonderful. There was a long line outside but they did everything possible to move it fast. Everyone from the receptionists to the nurses and the doctor were very welcoming and friendly. This is a kind of an attitude we should all have during the pandemic times. Usually, I frown upon urgent care since I always feel I need to follow up with either my primary physician or the ER. I walked in and was greeted politely by the front desk staff. I signed into the welcome kiosk and was asked to take a seat. I was called into an exam room almost immediately. The exam room was clean and had friends playing on the TV screen- bonus points for that! A technician came into the room and took my vitals -- pretty standard stuff. A doctor came in next. Based on the questions they asked me, it was clear they had read my chart and had come prepared. The doctor diagnosed me and sent my prescription to the nearest pharmacy, and I was out of there in 30 minutes. I did not have to seek any additional help after this encounter. I called this CityMD and confirmed that I could bring my daughter in before the branch closed for the night since the company doesn't book appointments. Unfortunately, when I arrived shortly after the call, the angry staff wouldn't allow my daughter to test and said they were turning away people because they closed in 30 minutes. I explained to them that I had just called 5 minutes ago and was assured that it was fine to come in but the hostile employees refused to listen. I called the Park Slope location and spoke to a helpful receptionist named Tashima, who suggested that I stay where I was instead of bringing my young child all the way to Park Slope but the unprofessional staff wouldn't listen and when Tashima asked for the names of the employees, they bizarrely wouldn't divulge the information and instead said the title, "The manager is here." Tashima held firm and had her manager call the Montague Street branch and lo and behold, my daughter was finally granted the appointment that I was promised over the phone.  I again asked for the name of the manager and finally she told me her name was Asia. I was promised the results of the rapid test later that night but I never received them so my young child and I had to go back the next morning and wait in the cold until CityMD opened. This branch is poorly run and the employees are rude, inefficient and unprofessional. They could learn a great deal from the Park Slope location. read more

My surgery had to be rescheduled because I did not get my COVID test back in time. CityMD merged with Summit Health Management Labs this month who now does a lot of their testing and cannot handle the amount of tests coming in. If you need a test for surgery or travel and need the results within a certain amount of time, go somewhere else. The service on the day of the test was very good. I waited an hour to be seen. The PA was gentle and quick. Both the PA and medical assistant assured me my test result would be back in time for my surgery. They were wrong. read more

Brigitte was amazing, She showed me to my room took my vitals, and a Covid test. Very professional I made a Made a joke about the test and she laughed. Dr. Lee came in and she had a discussion about my symptoms. I needed an x-ray. Incomes Brian to explain that I need in my hair up. He asked if I had a hair tie I said yes but before I knew it he gave me one from a glove. Of course I used his LOL. Before we left he gave me an extra gown to cover up my girly parts. In the next room he used to tape to make sure the gown did not open. I told him thank you for making sure that I was coming up very well. He told me a story about his mother and how important to Protect a woman's innocence. I thanked him again. read more

The staff is nice and kind, but it is a waste of time if you are trying to get your results a a decent time , specially if you are planning to travel. They sent the results to outside lab and that takes a whole process. on top i waited on line 4 hours to get the test done (PCR Covid) and the doctor there said to me that I will get the results between 2-4 days. its been about a week a nothing. if I would know in advance that it was going to take the long I would have gone somewhere else. or If the information be accurate. The other thing is that I went with my husband and he got the results after 4 days, but we are together. so its disappointing . I would not recommended if you need your results soon, or planning to travel. read more

Waited for 1.5 hours for a 30 second conversation (I needed was a refill on my inhaler). I was super upset because I haven't been able to breathe properly all day. Only one doctor working there. Literally called multiple other urgent cares while waiting to see if I could get seen faster there. Also had to leave my door open because I was convinced they forgot about me. This was an exceptional experience. The first time I came here people were very courteous and fast paced. The second time, this morning, the desk staff, nurses and doctor were so pleasant, so fast (I didn't even have time to put my book bag down in the examining room before someone was with me) and so professional. I've come to get COVID tested during my break (around 2pm) and they were pretty busy then, the staff were still pleasant and kind at that time. But if you come in the morning, it seems like the service they're able to offer at that time is just shockingly good. On the way out the doctor expressed genuine interest and advice regarding some congestion I had. Honestly, I haven't had this good a medical experience anywhere before. On July 28th I entered CityMD with extreme pain in my wrist. X-rays were taken as well as my temperature and BP. The Dr. then entered the examining room, touched my hand/wrist a few times, and said my X-rays came back negative so I just have Tendonitis. I've explained to the Dr. and nurse that despite my lack of medical knowlegde, I DO know my body and I do NOT have Tendonitis! The Dr. had also said that it could possibly be an INFECTION IN MY WRIST DUE TO AN STD! (I cant make this up) The nurse then gave me 5 ace bandages to wrap the wrist with because the hand/wrist braces they had didn't fit, and the Dr. said he'd write a prescription for pain medication. I said no thanks to the meds, paid my co-pay (which was $20 more than initially stated), and left the CityMD office with frustration to accompany my pain. I then called another medical practice, and drove 40 minutes to get there. Upon looking at the X-rays and doing a thorough assessment of my hand, wrist, and forearm, it was determined that my WRIST WAS DISLOCATED! (never once was I asked by Dr. No. 2 if I have an STD) I was treated correctly, and released. Tendonitis/Infection vs. Dislocation of the wrist? I will never go to that CityMD again! read more

I have never had such a terrible experience with City MD as the Brooklyn Heights. I came at 8 am to take a rapid test for COVID. I was told to leave my phone number and they will call me back within 2 hours and I should come back. More than 2 hours later, I have not received any calls or message. I called again and they did not explain to me the reasons why no one called me and said that I could come back. I came in and Finally did the test. After I was asked to indicate my email address and within an hour I can get the result. I wrote on a piece of paper my email, the girl at the reception asked me again. 4 hours later I did not receive an answer! I called back to which the girl on the phone said that I had not received my result because my email wasn't written correctly. How is it possible if we double checked? Terrible staff!!!! And frequently employees took off their masks while working in a hospital during a pandemic.Never come back here again! read more

Do not go to CityMD if you are needing a timely Covid-19 test result. My father went into end-stage palliative care and I needed a Covid-19 test to apply for an exemption to the mandatory 14 day government quarantine to travel to Australia. I went to CityMD and they seemed efficient. I asked if it was possible to expedite the results. I was told that although they have to say 3-5 days it is usually just 2 days. With this reassurance I went ahead and had the swab test done. Three days later, I called CityMD and was told that it would be 7 days and that they couldn't do anything, I'd have to call Quest Diagnostics. Quest told that they had only received the swab the day before, which was two days after I had the test done. They also said that only the doctor who did the test could request that the test results be expedited, and that I most likely would not receive the test results until the end of the week (which was 7 days). Eight days after I'd had the test done I still had not received a test result. I called CityMD and was told that the result was negative. While I understand that these tests are in high demand, if they are that backlogged they shouldn't be continuing to perform tests. read more

This place is literally beyond racist and I would never recommend to someone of color. The white nurses in the back would only help those who are white and will purposely ignore you. When I got up to say something they said they forgot and how the doctor " went to lunch". I also have a recording of them laughing and talking bad about patients from the room. read more

I had to wait in line for 2 hours, it would be understandable if there was a huge line but there were only 10 people before me (i went a couple of minutes before they opened). & they gave me a hard time when asked for a PCR AND rapid covid test. I injured my knee on a Saturday and the conditions got worse on Sunday. I figured the best choice would be an urgent care. There was not much reviews for this city MD location at the time I checked, but it is one of the nearest. And since the knee injuries limited my mobility, I didn't want to go far. The receptionists turned out friendly. They took the trouble to walk to me when they needed more information, instead of calling my name and made me limp to their desk. I got blood pressure and heart rate taken, told the nurse my condition, talked briefly with the doctor and then took X Ray by another nurse. After a while, they gave me a disk with my X Ray photos, which was nice as I was just about to ask. And then I got to talk with the doctor in details. He gave me a crutch and a prescription for the pain and referred me to a specialist for MRI. After that, the first nurse showed me how to use the crutch (not that easy). When I left, the receptionist opened the door for me so that it would be easier for me with the crutches. Overall, I would say the service here is friendly and professional. The doctor is knowledgeable and kind. The wait was a bit long, as there was wait for every step. But as they showed patient and care, I didn't mind that much of the wait. I wish they have MRI on the site though. It is not fun to have to go to another location with an injured knee. read more

This place is dangerous. I went in two months ago because I had an extremely severe headache, nausea, neck pain, etc, and my GP was booked out for a few months. I was charged $250 and told that it was just a tension headache and that I needed to find a therapist and get a massage. They told me they'd call me to set me up with a neurologist if I wanted, but that never happened. I called multiple times trying to get the referral but they never picked up or returned my voicemails. I recently found my own neurologist who sent me for an MRI and found A BLEED ON MY BRAIN for which I was immediately sent to the ER for surgery. I was charged no small fee and wasn't tested just to walk around with a bleed on my brain for two months. These things kill people. I'm still not recovered or out of the woods for this. Please, if you have any kind of pain, I implore you to go literally anywhere else. This place is in this field for money only, and will happily let you die if you don't find a real doctor. read more

I have a regular primary care doctor but I developed a deep cough with an intensely congested chest that caused a shortness of breath. Deep breathes were painful. I was concerned that I might have pneumonia and didn't want to wait until Monday so I came to this facility. I really didn't want to go to emergency with the reams of paper work and the interminable waiting. CityMD Brooklyn Heights was the perfect solution. I had excellent care. Efficient, caring, with a very focused and assured diagnosis. Every staff member was professional and pleasant. I left there with a few scripts but more importantly with peace of mind. I Saw 2 Police Officers. I asked them seeing they Protroll this Neighborhood can they recommend an Urgent Care. They sent me to City MD on 135 Montague. The Security, Front Desk, Nurses and Doctors did an excellent job to let me know I will get the best care. I would recommend this Urgent Care . Thank You. read more

Nice facility, very clean, and the nurses are amazing. Front desk personnel could be friendlier and more patient, though, when we call with questions. Main reason for only 4 stars is that the doctor should ask basic screening questions. I was given an unnecessary test today that could have been avoided with one simple inquiry which all other doctors always do. read more
