My hair is super thick and before Charla I got "Fairy Knots". I had a love hate relationship with my natural hair. Kinda like a boyfriend...Ha! Well, Ms. Charla or the Hair Doctor as I like to call her has helped me to love everything about my hair again. She's patient and gentle with my hair, which BTW has been natural for 10+ years. I left for school for about 18 months in another State and my hair was abused by stylist who know nothing about healthy natural hair. I have had my hair literally pulled out from the roots which left thin hair. I am back in Atlanta and back with Ms. Charla and together we are fulfilling my healthy hair goals. I am rocking beautiful Eurasian hair which she sells and I am amazed at how many people are shocked when I say my hair is weaved. Give her a call...I promise you will be on your way to VIP at the Healthy Hair Club. I am sure I will meet my waist length thick hair goals with Ms. Charla as my Hair Doctor.

I found Charla from a Groupon deal. I needed to locate a stylist quickly because my normal stylist…read morewas unable and I was going out of town. Charla was very unprofessional and did not give me the respect I deserve as a new client. Her Groupon states that she handle natural hair. That is not the experience I had. I have been natural for over 6 years and have has many blow outs done by many people. She did not handle my hair as if she knew much about safely dealing with the curls of black hair without damaging the hair. She did things that go directly against how natural hair should be handled. Like instead determining what type of hair I have and how it needs to be handled she blow dried my just a bit then put me under the dryer causing the roots of my hair to dry while still in its curly state. After that she proceed to comb through those dry stiff curls with a small tooth comb. The Groupon deal I discussed with her did not include a cut. I did not want a cut. She never actually had a conversation with me at all once I got to her chair. This should have been a sign to me that this was going to be a problem. After she did a horrible job of blowing out my hair and flat ironing it she started to cut my hair. At no point was there a mirror I could actually see the progress of my hair. I was not even given a mirror to check the final results when she was complete. By the time I realized that she was cutting my hair without permission it was too late she had already started. She did not trim my ends, she totally cut my hair into a different style including bangs! When I told her I don't want it cut she said a trim is including and continued to cut. there are not enough words to express how displeased I am with not just the style but the service I received.

Shonda has a couple of assistants who are awesome as well. They get me started by washing my hair. I'm always taken around my appointment time. This is great! The shop is very nice and it has a nice atmosphere so it is kid friendly if you needed your little ones hair done. Shonda is also a Microlink specialist that offers training classes for a fee. Shonda puts so much detail in everything there. She really wants the customer to have a great experience. Happy customers become repeat customers. They also have refreshments available for customers. I collected the items that I needed and as I was checking out a lady came in and made her way over to the counter and she just stopped and started staring at me as if to make sure I'm not stealing, while I stand at the counter to check out. Weird Lastly I made a mistake and purchased a tester concealer, now any other employee at any other store would have stopped me and told me before I purchased to go get a brand new concealer one that has not been opened and tested by strangers. But bc I had some totally clueless guy on the first day at his new job ringing me up he allowed me to purchase the tester without alerting me to the mistake. I'm leaving this 2 star review bc I would liked to have returned this concealer for a brand new one, however on the receipt it says "no exchanges no refund all sales final" . Don't shop here I would avoid this place at all cost.

My sister's wedding was in 24 hours and I needed my hair done. Reggie Jaye was very responsive and got back with me immediately after i sent a facebook message to her. She took me at the last minute with no hesitation. She provided me with the location of her salon whuch is conveniently located near the airport. She was very welcoming and friendly and her salon is very clean and professional and her decor is amazing. Reggie asked me questions about my hair in attempt to get some insight about my natural hair journey. After my vonsultation I received the best hair wash that I have evet had. The deep condition hydration treatment was very exhilarating. Reggie made super my hair was very hydrated which is a must for healthy hair. Reggie gave me a much needed trim without going scissor happy and chopping my hair off which i appreciated. Ive had horrible trim experiences but she eased my mind by showing me what we going to take off. She pressed my hair out super straight and silky and then curled my hair the way i like amd pincurled up for me so that my drop curls would be popping the next day at my sister wedding. My hair cam out amazing and Reggie is super amazing herself!!!! My hair maintained its curls and did not revert after being pressed out. Her cashmere silk presses are the best. She is a must see!!! My curls lasted for about a week but my hair remained light and full of body for 2 weeks. Reggie Jaye is my new go to person! You should check her out if you are in the Atlanta area and you want someone who is talented, fast, and efficient.
