I felt that that was unreasonable and wanted to leave, let them keep the $25 dollar deposit. Then the shop owner (derricka) said if I leave they will still charge my card ( which is illegal) but to avoid a legal battle I stayed. As you can guest, my hair came out looking real amateur looking, you could see the lace, and the hairline did not look realistic. I don't mind paying for good work. But Foxy's work is not worth $175. Not to mention In the middle of doing my hair, they made me walk to the atm next door to withdraw cash since I didn't have it on me. I had to walk to the store in my Meeks. We spoke extensively on the phone over her process for curating the wig and then we set a consultation. She was quick to get us in as my mother was going to be starting chemotherapy soon, and we wanted to make sure that she had a wig when her hair would start to fall out. We were greeted at a lovely office and went through all different types of wig options and customizations. They even offer a very private session where you get your wig, and your head is shaved and you leave essentially the same way you came in... so you don't experience all your hair falling out in a dragged out process. We were all very emotional at the consultation and touched by the pitch. At the end of the consultation, weI were informed the wig would be around $5000. This would not include the class offered to learn how to care for the wig properly. That would be an additional fee. While my mom felt very encouraged and positive after her meeting, I was a tad skeptical. The sales pitch made it seem like the wigs were made, totally in-house, but in reality they were just basic wig samples, matched to the color needed, and then cut in office and colored to desired shade, highlights, etc. There was nothing custom essentially to the wig as complete measurements were not done. The price and the added items that weren't included did not sit well with me. While my Mom was ready to pull the trigger, I told her to hold off while I researched more and quickly---thankful she trusted in me. It was so important that my mom found the best quality. In doing my research, I found a wig 90% cheaper and got it custom styled and colored for less than $200. It was the same real hair that was going to be offered at this custom salon and it looked exactly like my Moms natural hair! I am saddened to think that people can be taken advantage of during difficult times in life , especially when they do not really have any knowledge of wigs. We knew, going into finding a custom real human hair wig that it would be expensive, but after stepping back from this consultation, we realized that the price point at this location was absolutely absurd. I encourage you to continue looking. I was left stewing after the consultation inside unbeknownst to my mother, because I knew that this place was totally taking advantage. The fees that were never mentioned, and the extra offers that are included in the price of their very expensive wigs is disgusting for the fact that it's just taking advantage of people. I proceeded with the install which she did not show me, but I thought in my head she wanted to do a reveal so I went with it. She said not to worry because the hair would cover it and she turned me back around and continue with the install as she was cutting the hair I mentioned there's a lot of hair being cut off and nothing. When she finished installing the hair and cutting it and showed me what it look like. my words exactly where that looks funny and she got offended and her energy had shifted at that point I said well I wait till it's fully styled but made a reference to looking like Stuart from Saturday Night Live and she got offended started cutting even more hair and put product in my hair and when she did that, it still looked short (and nothing like the cut I requested) , but I had to leave urgently - I was there from 9 AM to just after 4 PM. Right before I left she had offered to add additional.Wefts so that i could have longer pieces if I was interested which the next day I took her up on the offer. I went back she installed longer wefts. I was happier with longer wefts and left not 100% satisfied, but it looked better than the first appointment. She added the longer wefts on Saturday and come Sunday. I went to bed woke up in the middle of the night in pain. My scalp was tender, and I couldn't sleep. I tried to bear with it thinking maybe I just have to get used to it, but throughout the day, I couldn't focus because my scalp was irritated and tender. Upon lifting the hair I could see the redness and irritation all along where the beads were at, so I sent her a message to advise and of course receive pushback ultimately two days after and I paid over $1000 to have a hair installed for my birthday, I had to have the wefts and beads removed and visited a dermatologist that advised me that was traction alopecia. The natural hair I do have left the cut is uneven. There's a lot of breakage and it will take me years to regrow my hair to a decent length and the hundreds of dollars I spent on PRP injections and caring for my scalp has now gone out the window and I'm embarrassed to be out. I can't have a wig installed as now I have to seek medical treatment (now several hundred more dollars) to rebuild what was destroyed in less than a week. I asked for a refund and she offered to provide me with $360 but offered me that at 8 PM and told me that that offer expired at 8 AM the next morning which of course I did not see until after 8 AM and by the time, I saw the message typed up a response and sent it before noon she never responded back because it was after 8 AM which her timeline was outside of business hours. but respectfully, a haircut and style I didn't even get was priced on her website at $775 and after reviewing all the charges, I pay more than that which means she didn't apply my deposit to that so the hair cost me over 1000. To avoid providing a refund and being accountable, she claimed that I agree to the hairstyle that I got, which is not true and when you look at the picture that I provided and what I got, it is vastly different. Just don't understand how someone could charge more than what's published on their website, not give the person the haircut they want destroy their hair that I walked in with and then not even offered to even provide me a wig to wear to support the regrowth. Instead, I get accused of annihilating and destroying my own hair, which is absurd to say to someone who's already invested thousands of dollars in their hair prior to their appointment and several hundred after. I hope this review helps anybody who has alopecia and is seeking a stylist and maybe my experience will save you from the despair and damage that I went through.
