Updated November 2019: Still very clean, not crowded, with…read moregood equipment and some great upgrades. Most of all the people Here and friendly and want you to get in the best shape of your life. A gem! Original review Nov. 2018 FANTASTIC small gym with affordable personal training. Easy and friendly environment for older clients but anyone of any age will feel comfortable here. Clean, modern equipment and very nice staff. Good selection of cardio machines, weight machines, and also free weights. There is a good squat rack. It's quiet and organized, there are no grunting "bro" bodybuilders hogging the weights. In fact I imagine if you're rude you'd lose your membership quickly. It's a very calm and pleasant environment. Conveniently located in the shopping center by the Safeway. Easy parking. A terrific neighborhood gym. A++!!!

If you're serious about working out, this is not the place for you. While it appears that the…read morerehab/recovery services are pretty good, there are a few rules that make it a bit difficult to, you know, "exercise." I was scolded on three occasions while attempting to work out. The first time, it was for "running too loud." The second time, my offense was "squeaky shoes." the third time, I was thrown out of the gym for sweating. Yes, I received a letter regarding my "deplorable" behavior after my sweat made contact with the gym floor. I was charged $279 for this in what can only be labeled credit card fraud. If I weren't a thousand miles away, I would be sitting in Small Claims Court. If you value your fitness or the law, you should avoid this place.

Always a fantastic workout - absolutely a great option when you are in Bethesda! Highly recommendread more

I've been obsessed with the megaformer workout these past few months and I've found it…read moretransformative for my core and tendencies towards injuries. I normally go to slt in NYC (which is phenomenal) but have been very curious about sculpt. I went this am and while one class is hardly the means for a rating, I found the studio meh as far as megaformer workouts. Don't get me wrong. This workout is difficult and not geared towards beginnings. The straps, balancing and movements cause one to need a few times to get the gist of it. Add on to the general difficulty! So why 3 stars for sculpt. Playlist and drill sergeant like instruction made the class not fun. She counted 20-19-18.... more repeatedly. Grrrr. I found myself repeated looking at the clock which is something I rarely do. In addition, music was circa 1980s and definitely a feed issue to the stereo because there was a scratchy sound for parts of the class. Moves and corrections were generally very good, however. As I've mentioned with other specialty classes it's the instructor that makes all the difference. I'm super spoiled I live in NYC and fortunately a couple of my favorite folks are not only at the tops in their field, some have even developed cult status (so says allure magazine). Best practices equal always a fresh playlist (I've never heard the same list twice for my favorites), good choreography, energy and corrections. So for $35 a class, I'd hope that I get just that. Otherwise I could go to the free classes at my gym. I think solid core which I rate 4.5 stars is better on instruction and energy, music also could be improved. 3 stars bc any megaformer class is a minimum of ok, but the extra factor is instruction and music.
