I had such a great time here! It's one of the few karaoke spots that actually has a wide selection of Burmese songs, which made it feel so special. The sound system was clear, and the mic quality was really good - no echo or feedback. The room was clean, cozy, and perfect for a small group. I can confidently say Level 2 is now my go-to karaoke spot in SF. The first thing I noticed--and what matters most to me--is how clean everything is. A lot of karaoke places I've been to don't keep up with that, but here, the space is spotless and well taken care of. The pricing is also really reasonable, especially for the quality you're getting. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes such a difference. They don't just seat you and disappear--they actually take the time to show you how to use the system so you can get the most out of your session. I go to karaoke places in the South Bay all the time and I have pretty high standards, but Level 2 absolutely meets them. From now on, this is the only place I'll be coming to in San Francisco. A nice place to karaoke with friends! The rooms are really awesome with led lights and a glowing table. Can order drinks as well (basically grab whatever is in the lobby fridge). We came at late night and there were still rooms available for walk in. For some reason the wall was covered in the Coca Cola logo pattern. Random but had a cool vintage aesthetic. The karaoke machine itself had a lot of good throwback songs. Song selection was difficult to search through because the navigation system was confusing. We mainly looked up by artist and that worked out. Overall still a fun place and had a great time. read more

We booked a karaoke room for 8 on a Friday night for 2 hours and the owner graciously let us extend to 3 hours even though it was a busy night. Visited Level 2 Karaoke with a group of 11 spontaneously one weekend evening. We called the day off and were easily able to book a room for our party. When we arrived, check in was quick, and we were shown to where our karaoke room was. The room itself was pretty nice with a booth like seating that wrapped around half the room and a table in the middle to put our stuff and any need drinks. The one thing, however, that really threw off the experience was how challenging it was to navigate the song book. When you try to search, it doesn't show all the songs at once, and the sort/filter doesn't really help. Overall the user interface was not feasible to use and could definitely use an uplift. The staff though were very nice. You can order drinks like soju and water directly from them. There is no complimentary water though, so be prepared to pay for it if you want some. read more

Excellent karaoke place in SF, perfect for groups of 8 or smaller. Comfortable rooms, excellent song selection, great karaoke videos, and above average UI. My group of 8 stayed there ~3 hrs and had an amazing time! Ambience - 8/10 Service - 10/10 Audio quality - 9/10 Song selection - 9/10 Music videos - 9.5/10 Ease of use - 7/10 Value - 11/10 AMBIENCE, SERVICE Staff are very friendly and professional! Upon arriving at the venue, they check ID and vaccination card at the door. Then we walk up a padded staircase flanked by narrow trails of clear water. There is technically a "no outside drinks" policy, although they don't check bags. Restrooms -- unisex restrooms are clean and well-kept. One nitpick is they don't have mirrors. Karaoke rooms -- The room had a large widescreen on the side as well as a smaller screen which mirrored it next to the door. The song selection panel is situated below the smaller screen. There is a foam Golden State Warriors padding behind the couch, so you can lean back comfortably (if you get too excited singing, you don't rock back and get a concussion :)). The lighting was of a perfect dimness that placed focus on the karaoke screens, while not detracting from other activities. AUDIO QUALITY Room seemed to have well sound padding. We heard very little from other rooms, except one time when someone cheered super loudly in an adjoining room MUSIC VIDEOS They clearly strive to use the most suitable karaoke videos, and many seem to be the official videos featuring the artists themselves. I haven't watched many music videos, but the music videos here highly enhance the karaoke experience! One nit is that some of the videos were quite pixelated, but it didn't significantly detract from the experience. SONG SELECTION They have a large number of pop songs of various eras. We were a group of mostly 20s, and found the song selection very agreeable. We only looked into the English songs, although a few of us knew Chinese so were amused by the time existence of a large Chinese selection as well. The songs seem to default to Chinese songs to bookend our stay, which I found charming. EASE OF USE It's quite tricky to find songs (try typing first letters of each word in song name!) and the artist search is very unreliable. However, we kept consistently cued up a list of popular songs that lasted us 3 hr+! To fit more songs in, we skip to the next song after the chorus, and there were still many songs we hadn't touched. Definitely a good place to karaoke! I've been here twice now and it has always been a good time. My group of friends and I always get a few bottles of soju and some beer. The song selection is tough because I feel like this place is catered more for Chinese/asians rather than Americans. I tried looking for a few classic songs but the screens aren't too intuitive to use. We end up just singing all the top lists songs rather than choosing a song that we have in our minds. Great place to just let loose and sing your heart out. The bouncer outside is extremely nice too! I was on the phone hanging around the stairs area and he offered his seat for me. They also have the Chinese game with the black cups and dice (not sure what the official name is). Last time I went with a big group (around 15 people), we ordered a bunch of alcohol and we were there for probably 4+ hours, the bill came out to be around $400 which was reasonable since we ordered so much alcohol. The plus.. They serve Alcohol but only beer and Smirnoff ice of all flavors. I love Smirnoff ice and yes its filled with lots of sugar. You can bring your own food inside and the staff are really nice. The bad..the system is ok but my biggest complaint was the song selections. Not a lot of old school English songs compare to other locations. For sure a large selections of Chinese songs. Time like this, I Wish I can read and understand Chinese. Oh Karaoke! This is a newly remodeled place, so i haven't been back in years until recently. It's much more comfortable now and it's not so run downed like before. They have touch screen where you can select your songs. There is also a function where you can use the screen and write the chinese song and select the chines characters or use pin-yim to find to your song. They don't have a remote for you anymore. The area is a little bit shady at night, so be vigilant. The prices are ok , my friend and i both paid 20.00 each for about 2 hours. read more

Been here a few times ...when Festa had a private party and when rooms at Fillmore Karaoke were all taken. $28 per hour for the small room that fits 4 people comfortably. Last visit, a little over two hours came out to $62. Beers are $5. Waters and soft drinks are cheaper. They also had a select amount of wine available at the front counter. Sound and lighting in the room wasn't bad. Although, the room itself was hot. Even after asking them to put the temperature down, it was still hot. The touchscreen menu was difficult to use. Then I kinda got the hang of things, but only by song title. Searching by artist was a task. You can spend a good deal of time just trying to figure out the whole thing. Just bring back the binder of songs with a simple remote control! That would benefit EVERYBODY! Was also hoping to control mic levels, since some of the music was lower in volume than others. We asked for Tagalog songs, which they made available. But were missing a lot of popular Filipino songs. Or maybe I just couldn't find it on their system. Strong two star (we definitely experienced better) ...but with a few pluses, like friendly service and accommodation. We would've just called it a night if this place had no rooms on a busy Saturday. The bad: touch screen system took some time to figure out and then when we did, we found the song selections extremely limited. Lots of Asian artists/songs though. Definitely not my favorite, but passable. - the song selection interface was a waste of time and a total mood killer. I thought the Wii-mote style interface they used to have at Fillmore Karaoke was bad, but this touch screen was far worse! The interface was slow (like Google search, they populate search suggestions for each letter you type in). It was also finnicky in that you could type out a song name exactly and not find it, but some other search query would find it. -the categories were messy (there are separate categories for Chinese male/female, HK/Taiwan male/female but under Foreign male/female they clumped together American, Japanese, and Korean). - some lyrics were wrong + open late + mics were good! Unlike at other karaoke places (*cough* Voiz), the mics never shut off/needed adjusting/made you doubt whether they were even working + spacious and surprisingly not cigarette scented; clean + person working there was nice + serves beverages + couldn't hear the neighboring rooms (or maybe there wasn't anyone in them) read more

I found this place by accident and boy what a gem! It's super cheap ($14 per hour for a small room before 9:30p), the room was very clean, and their system for picking songs is pretty easy to use. We were able to find both English and Chinese songs with no problem. Be careful though because if you go even a little bit over the end of happy hour, they somehow prorate it so you end up paying a very rounded up amount. Another thing is that their Korean song selection is quite limited and more difficult to search for specific songs. Overall though, this has become my go to karaoke place in SF. read more

Came here on Friday night with prior arrangements! Much appreciated, btw! :) The room was quite cozy, but definitely able to fit 10+ people. lol. Music selection is amazing for Chinese songs. Korean and Japanese are so-so. English songs.. A lot of oldies. Some recent songs available. Pretty decent since the people I was with primarily sing in English. lol. Big screen. Good sound system. Easy to navigate after clarifying some stuff with the guy at the counter. Oh, definitely other songs in other languages. Primarily Asian songs though. Haha. Parking isn't too bad. Street parking.. I love my Chinese karaoke and I'm so happy that we went to Level 2. There's a happy hour price for early birds (I think it's before 9:30) and it was very reasonable. After 9:30, it got a little bit more expensive but we had a blast. I'm used to Chinese karaoke places in the SGV so clearly no place in the area can compare. Level 2 is lacking some very popular Chinese songs that came out during the last 5 years. That said, there is no shortage of Jay Chou ballads. Another really awesome feature is the abundance of real music videos. I hate how karaoke places usually show you the same generic video of Eastern European girls walking around the beach or a marina no matter what song is playing. That happened very rarely at Level 2. Although you cannot park in the adjacent lot, you do have access to a supermarket where you can buy what you need to have a great time! read more

WTF?) -Poorly organized language/singer/song selection (English/Japanese) -Random songs added to our playlist, even with songs in queue (WTF?!) Worst of all, -Song selection system is just poorly designed. In old school karaoke systems, multiple people could input songs by using the book/numbers system. In the case of L2, only 1 person can enter at a time. You either find a ton of songs you want to sing and sing for 20 min before passing the mic, or you have to dig through the sh*tty system -- technical equivalent of digging 6 feet of dirt with your nails Note -- Menu is in Chinese. If you don't read Chinese, but plan to skip/delete/vol +&- /etc. ask for a room with labeled touchscreen. Odd request. read more

This is my go to karaoke spot in SF! The price for rooms is really cheap, they serve lots of beers which is a plus because some places don't serve alcohol which makes no sense. The guys that work there are always nice and accommodating. We sing English songs and I think the selection is pretty good. By far the worst user interface for karaoke ever in the entire world. You could spend a good 15 minutes just trying to find out how bad it is. If you want to ever make a UX/UI designer rant, take them here and hope that they don't bash this thing to pieces. I'd much rather have a book and a remote, because at least that makes sense. When you don't choose a song, it chooses a random song for you, which is 500% not okay. The rooms are pretty cheap. If you drink alcohol, they do not have alcohol. They probably do not allow alcohol. I don't drink, so I didn't care, but my group is the type that needs alcohol to sing, so that made things a lot less fun. Decent song selection if you can figure out the demon machine. read more

Christmas eve came along and decided to go karaoke with a few friends. Originally the plan was to head over to Voiz on taraval, but they were completely full! So my friend called around and decided to go to L2 since their prices were lower than other places and they had rooms available. Let's just say I understand why they were empty! Walked right into the room, didn't seem to be any different than other karaoke places, but once I started using their system for choosing songs, that's where all the problems began. First of all, it was very difficult to find the songs you want, they had very few selections and the artists you wanted seem to be in the wrong place. On top of that, it takes FOREVER for a song to load, they should compensate for that! If the song is loading, your entire system freezes! You have to wait until the song loads, then you can continue selecting your songs. Sound system isn't very good either, you cannot really control the volume with the remote-- you have to keep getting up to the actual system to change up the volume, how useless is that?! I believe this is the first place I've been to that did not satisfy my singing needs, will definitely go to another place next time! read more

We got lucky! One of our friend didn't leave with us, so when the room became available, they called us, we called him-- or was it it he called us as we were on the [hone with Level 2? Either way :) it was my first time here, and I love, love, love! the touchscreen to select songs. Is it spacious? Not sure.. it was roomie for 8 and we were in room #1. LOL, so misbehaving in front of the little old security and host in the place was a no-no. Bummer. The minus one star isn't even for the unfairness of restroom available (one mens' room and one unisex room) ... I don't even know how that works. Why not just a womens and mens room? Don't even get me started LOL It wasn'f for the pricey 6-pack of beer, which got warm real quick :( no was it for the long, long steps up the stairways... The one star is for top songs on the charts that aren't on there! There's no BSB no NSYNC.. pop boy bands alas... is no more. LOL but my usual off key singing wasn't soothed, there was no Toni Braxton, no UNBREAK MY HEART... WHHAAATTT? There's TLC's Creep, but no Toni Braxton? ... also they have CAMBODIAN as foreign, which is cool... but um, those aren't cambodian songs, those were Thai songs.
