Do not let that deter you. The space is much larger than it looks. There is an indoor bar and an outdoor bar with some table games and outdoor seating. There is a separate pick up window for snacks. They offer pizza by the slice, hot dogs and other goodies. The food is cheap and the pizza was solid for the price. The games require tokens which you can purchase at the bar. They have just about every game you could want! Even had a Super Nintendo set up, Dane Revolution, and my all time favorite skee ball!! My Zennial spirit was happy for this bit of nostalgia.

Pizza , drinks are available for purchase. I did try a Pineapple Cider draft that was fruity and delicious. We played pinball , old school Super Mario Brothers , skee ball and Frogger to name a few. We must be getting old because both our arms started cramping and as of right now sore :) Two levels of childhood fun, dark and sultry, and plenty of drink holder spots to play your games. Spacious. Outdoor patio. Staff friendly. This was a really fun date .

They were having issues with the machine upstairs dispensing balls but the employee and her co worker were quick and fast in fixing the problem. Friendly and professional staff! The meun is very limited and I wish it were more options. Ordered a fried Caesar salad and it was delicious and probably one of the best salads I've had in a while. I had a small bite of the stl tailgates appetizer and it was good. Our waiter was nice and attentive. The bathroom are extremely clean and I was impressed by that for it being so busy. I finally visited Magic Mini Golf... on its last night of operation! I read about the closure in…read morethe St. Louis Post-Dispatch and stopped by after a meal at another establishment in the Loop. (I suspected MMG's food offerings would be limited on the last day, and I was correct.) I was surprised MMG operated for only 3 years. I thought it was at least 8-10. The decor was old-timey magic show-inspired. The mini-golf was I believe 18 holes and STL-themed. One of the holes as a STL (Delmar Blvd., right outside) walk of fame w/ a tv screen slideshow of the honorees. Most (all?) of the other holes had a STL or a magic theme. What else was there? Tables for eating. A few arcade games. A mini Ferris wheel. No one rode it; this was a slow night. The bartender made it sound like this was because Mother's Day weekend is typically not a busy time for establishments such as Magic Mini Golf. The bartender was so nice. His family/friends were hanging out at the bar. The specialty cocktail menu was so to my liking that I had difficulty choosing, so I let the bartender choose for me. This was a cocktail of a good size. It was sweet and tart enough. I think it was the blackberry... margarita, was it? Yum! Would drink it again. Owner and local legend Joe Edwards was sitting at the bar and left a few minutes after I arrived! The bartender and the other staff member said he's a very nice boss. I was glad to hear that and that both employees have new jobs lined up. I exited into a downpour with a souvenir deck of Magic Mini Golf STL cards and a big smile. I'm glad I finally played.

I visited Magic Mini Golf on the Delmar Loop this past Saturday around 2 PM, and overall, it was a…read morefun and unique experience. The main attraction is the 18-hole mini golf course. Each green is elevated above the concrete floor, with custom build-outs that include nods to St. Louis history and culture, which was a nice touch. Each hole is around 12-15 feet in length, and while they're fun to look at, I will say the gameplay is a bit lacking. The greens are not particularly challenging, and because you can't actually stand on them, some of the putts were a bit awkward. Not the most practical setup, but still enjoyable. In addition to mini golf, the space includes giant shuffleboard, a few arcade games, and even a miniature 5-person Ferris wheel. There's also a full bar, which definitely adds to the atmosphere and makes it a great spot for a casual hangout with friends. When I went, there were about 2-3 other parties playing, but the flow was smooth and we never had to wait for a hole. At $12 per person for all 18 holes, it's reasonably priced for the novelty and the environment. All in all, I would recommend checking it out!

Last night was our time seeing a show at Red Flag, and we came away very impressed! Going in, the…read moresetup is very smart.. Toward the back of the room on the floor level, in front of the bar, there are bar height tables with seating. In front of those tables is open floor, so people can stand at the rail right up at the stage or form a mosh pit or dance, or whatever they do while enjoying the show. In addition to the floor space, there is the option of balcony tickets. The balcony space runs along two sides of the room. The sections along the back wall are separated by shipping containers so you have separate "rooms" with seating, some tables, and room to stand. The balcony above the doorway side of the room is open, without any rooms dividing it up. Sight-lines are great, upstairs or down. Whether you are upstairs or on the floor, the sound is amazing. It's pretty surprising to have such good acoustics in a square, mostly concrete room, but the designers obviously knew what they were doing. Between bands we could hear people on the other side of the room downstairs talking. My husband when downstairs, and I heard his voice from the balcony when he ran into and had a conversation with a friend, and my husband is a "quiet talker." But that brings me to my one criticism. The plan didn't seem to include dealing adequately with large crowds. Getting in required waiting, mostly outside, for quite awhile while one person scanned or sold tickets. Two bathrooms, one designated as men's and one for women, and the one bar are downstairs. Maximum capacity is 1.000 people, so the wait times for entrance, bathroom facilities, or bar service can be long. While that won't stop us from returning to see shows here (in my opinion the setup and acoustics more than make up for any wait times) it's just something to keep in mind.
