Awesome. So I called the number on Yelp and Abdul answered right away. He came almost immediately, and texted me when he was downstairs. Leucadia has an interesting business model he explained to me. He has a "radio service" with a local cab company, which basically means that if you call Yellow Cab (or some other one, I forget which), he might get a call to come get you. But he also takes calls directly on the number on his business card (or Yelp): 858-625-1200, and he also has a few other drivers in his network that he can dispatch to you. How does he get enough business for the extra effort to be worth it? Great service! The text message and instant answer were awesome to have (I was a little panicky since I had to get to the airport) , and he made great conversation, or at least I think so. He explained the ins and outs of the San Diego taxi and car service business and got to learn a little bit about Lyft and all the taxi chaos in SF from me. WOW and not a good Wow! I booked a car pick up to and from LAX from Rancho Santa Fe for my boss weeks in advance on Leucadia's website. The website itself is great, super easy to use, you book your service and get an email confirmation so I'm thinking wow this company is great they really have it together. Yeah...um... until my boss calls me at 10:30 AM telling me he's driving himself to LAX because his car never showed up. He called Leucadia Transportation at 10:00 when no one showed up. No one answered so he left a message, he gets a call back and he asks where his car is. The lady on the phone asks who he is, he gives her his confirmation number and she can't find it but then says the driver had a flat tire and that she could send a backup car but that would take 45 minutes. Ahhhh no... and why did no one call him to say hey I'm sorry I have a flat tire I'm going to be late or I can't make it? He is getting on an international flight for business the whole reason I booked him a car is to relieve stress and so he would be able to work on the drive and now instead of being less stressed he had to worry about getting himself last minute to LAX not to mention after traveling for a few short days overseas with a time difference he will have to drive himself home after a long exhausting flight. I will never use this company again and wanted to share with others, so they don't end up in a similar situation. read more

$80 one way from Carlsbad to Lindbergh is the lowest fare you will find of any surrounding car service. I used Leucadia Transportation last week as my GF and I readied ourselves for our trip to San Francisco. The car was a few minutes late getting to us, but understandable due to the inclement weather. The car itself was older and had an overbearing smell of men's cologne. The driver was cordial. However, during the trip down the 5, my GF and I both noticed him dozing off. He seemed to swerve every 10 minutes or so. It was a cause for concern but we reached the airport without incident. Leucadia has superior customer service. My flight to San Diego was delayed multiple times and was then cancelled. I stayed in contact with them and they assured me that it was no problem. I ended up arriving 12 hours late and they were ready to pick me up shortly after my plane arrived. There was no extra charge. They also provided me with transportation to the airport after my stay in San Diego was over. All of the drivers are very courteous and personable. They far exceeded my expectations! At 8pm, the night before my flight, I realized that I needed to book either a cab or car service for my 6am flight. When I called for a quote, the person (I think it was the owner) quoted me $30. After checking the exact address he realized the flat rate was $35. After mentioning this, he agreed to honor the $30. He was incredibly nice. What I found to be great, is that he sends a text message confirming your ride and asking for more information including street address, time of pick up, drop off location etc. He then replies with confirmation. He even offered to give me a wake up call in the morning!! The drive showed up on time and called when he arrived. The driver was friendly, well dressed and professional. He seemed passionate about his job and happy to be in the industry. Being in the travel industry, I've used a lot of car services. What I appreciate about Leucadia Transportation is that their cars are clean, the drivers are courteous and friendly, and they're always on time. When a trip is coming up, I call in to order a car to take me to the airport, and they always show up on time. When I order the pickup, I also give them my return flight information. They send a car to meet me, even going so far as to track my incoming flight's schedule, in case it's running late. As soon as I get into the terminal, I give them a call, and arrange where to meet my driver at the curb outside Baggage Claim. I used Leucadia Transportation when I had to take a flight for a business trip but needed to leave my car at home for a visiting family friend to use while I was away. I basically checked out some of the car services around and decided to try L.T. since they had the best reviews on Yelp and also the best prices. Well, the reviews are accurate. Very friendly drivers. Abdul (I believe he is the owner) called and emailed to confirm both my departing trip and my pick up from the airport when arriving back home. Even when my flight was delayed an hour and a half, it was no problem for them. My driver called my cell phone as soon as I picked up my luggage and he was picking me up curbside within less than two minutes. They were on-time and were very accommodating to my schedule. I have to also say that the towne car on my return trip from the airport back home was really very nice. Really tip these guys good. They really did do a great job. read more

WOW! I have a story about this company that I'll tell for years. THE best company I've used -- and I'm someone who has travelled extensively (I'm a top reviewer on Trip Advisor etc) including abroad. I had to get to the airport to go to an out of town convention since I'm an entertainer and had to meet an agent In Utah who'd pitch my show to fair managers. I got into my car at 10 a.m. My car would NOT START! And I had to be at the airport by 11 a.m. I called Leucadia Transportation after frantically picking it out at random from Google. I was assured they would get someone out there to me in Rancho Penasquitos soon. And, in fact, in a few minutes I got a call that someone would be there IN 10 MINUTES -- and he was. The driver was great -- and I got the airport around 10: 50. I have NEVER gotten such quick response time-- and been so poised to miss a flight or get there without time to spare. In this case, I got there about the same time than if I had parked my car and taken the shuttle to the airport. I WILL be seeing if they can pick me up and take me back home (so I can two my car to the dealership as soon as I get back). HIGHLY and I mean HIGHLY recommended. read more
