Our 3-year old son has been attending Juguemos en Espanol in Campbell for 3 months now. He had no previous knowledge of Spanish and nobody speaking Spanish at home. He attends both Mommy and me and the Pre-school, initially 2 than 3 times a week total. He is absolutely obsessed with this program and has been progressing exceptionally well. He loves coming to class, makes us play him Suzy's CDs in the car and DVDs at home. He knows all the song by heart. When he opens the book, he goes through most of it as if he was reading it (even though he cannot read yet!) The program is designed very smartly: - Words and phrases are taught through songs and rhythmical structures - There are puppet shows, games, toys and lots of other fun activities kids are involved with - The knowledge is built up by expanding on the themes, vocabulary and phrases learned previously to introduce more advanced stuff Last but not least, teachers are fantastic. All native Spanish speakers. Maestra Dahli, Hila, Helena and, of course, Suzy herself truly love kids and enjoy being around them. Very warm and caring. Our son as well as other kids are met with a welcoming genuine hug every morning. Suzy herself has this magical aura around her that makes kids melt when she enters the room. Hands down the BEST Spanish Immersion Class for Children. And you adults that take your child there will enjoy it as well. Susy Dorn is amazing. Her class is ever changing and extremely engaging. The class combines music, puppets, theater, stories and games. My daughter has been going since she turned one and in the past 3.5 years has learned all the songs, words and simple language skill that Suzy teaches. And amazingly this class never gets old. I am actually somewhat surprised that there is only one review of Susy Dorn's class and that it is so dated. I am not sure that I can add much to Frances' review except to say that I whole-heartedly agree with it. Especially the "hands down BEST Spanish immersion class" part. My 5 year old loves Susy's classes...and most importantly...my 5 year old is really learning Spanish. And, the CDs and DVDs will amaze both those that take the class and those that don't -- those CDs and DVDs teach just as effectively. I suspect that fact is because the CDs and DVDs are just like the classes. Two more relevant points. One is diction. Susy is incredibly clear in her pronunciation. This is invaluable for someone who is trying to learn a foreign language both by ear and by sight. Those of us older kids can actually "see" the words that Susy speaks. The second point is musicianship. Susy teaches mainly by song. And what stands out is that her music is compelling. Not only is it catchy for the kids, but even my musician wife is impressed by the quality of the compositions (Susy writes and sings her own songs) and the quality of the singing. I am a bit mixed with giving this review -- Susy deserves a 5 star review, but it is hard enough getting into her classes. Maybe I could ask that you don't pass this review on. I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I started taking my daughter and WOW!! The class is so much fun!! They have everything.. music, puppets, story time, letters, numbers, and the alphabet ect... The teachers AMAZING and so patient!! My daughter just turned 2 and acts as if she has a hot plate on her bum... she is into everything!! We have only been going for a few months and already my daughter knows numbers, colors and sings along with Susy's CD'S.... which we love!!! So the mommy and me class took place in a room at the church next door. The class format was okay but they just dove into songs and activities without explaining what was going on. In addition, the instructor was very loud. My son covered his ears the whole time. I don't understand why she was so loud. read more

Wow! Awesome and amazing Spanish program that works for kids and adults! I have been coming here since 2005. My girls were in Suzy's class when they were 1 and 2. They are now 9 and 10. My son just started and he is 3.5. I must say that Let's Play in Spanish songs never get old in our house. I learned a great deal of Spanish though the class, Cd's, and DVDs. We LOVE Suzy! Even my late husband who was a Spanish speaker loved the program. Next Fall we plan on enrolling in the preschool. I'm very impressed with this program and looks like we will be attending for a couple more year since we are expecting another bebe! I highly recommend this class and preschool. read more

Absolutely love this place!! My son took the Mommy n me clases since he was a baby and the assisted to the pres school for 2 years. They prepared him really good for kindergarten and I feel the program they have is very unique, because the kids learn while singing and playing the songs that Susy Dorn created. Now in taking my second child to the mommy n me classes too, i feel is such a good transition for the kids to pass from this classes to preschool. My children have been taking classes at the Campbell location for 4 years. Wow - have we learned a lot of Spanish! And in such a fun way! Susy Dorn, the creator, has created a program that involves music, movement, puppets and more! Susy and her staff are talented and gifted educators and entertainers! I love that this program has advanced classes, Saturday classes, infant classes and a movement class. My children have also enjoyed their summer camp for the past two yrs. Love this place to the fullest! This has to be the best program my daughter is involved it. My daughter loves speaking Spanish. My husband and I are learning Spanish with her. We took it in high school but are not good at speaking it. This class helps you learn so easily and almost effortlessly. It's great to learn through play. My daughter is two and she sings all the class songs in Spanish all the time. She has at least 150 words down, which is awesome for non Spanish speaking parents. A friend of ours bought Suzy's DVD set for my first son on his first birthday. He started watching it around 14 months and fell in love. When he turned 18 months old I enrolled him in the Mommy and Me class in Campbell and have been SO impressed! We have teacher Ana and she is simply amazing. This is really my son's first exposure to a classroom setting and it's been challenging for him to be a regular "student" because he has so much energy, but Ana takes it all in stride. The curriculum is fun and just the right mix of repetition and fresh content. Plus, my son has bilingual comprehension (and some verbalization) for colors, numbers, and shapes. i couldn't have imagined how much my kids (age 4 and 7) would love this place, and how much they would learn in 3 weeks during summer. The biggest thing you see in this program - it's extremely effective in learning, yet as fun and playful as a birthday party, and with warm TLC all teachers show - lots of hugs, appreciation and care for every child, encouragement for what they do. And all that in Spanish! My both girls want to do it again next year (this year they started from scratch), and now they can't let go of the DVD set i got them with Susy's main shows, they think it's all that easy and fun. Ms. Suzy, is amazing!! My son, Jaden, is an only child and is behind on his verbal skills, so he tends to be shy around new kids. The second he walked through the door she called him by name and helped get him involved. All the Spanish the kids knew (who weren't traditionally Spanish speaking) blew me away. I was impressed with the various was she incorporated different learning styles. By the end of the first class my son was swaying to the music, attempting to repeat words, he just came alive! My 5 year old son and I love Let's Play in Spanish class! We do the mommy and me program together and we are both very happy with it. I feel fortunate to have Ms Susy as our instructor. She is an AMAZING educator. She is talented, funny, kind, gentle, creative, and very engaging with the children. Every week she teaches a new theme (it varies, and includes things like travel, Halloween, post office, etc). The language is reinforced through speaking, puppets, songs, and hands-on learning. The lessons move pretty quickly and there is plenty of moving around the room so he never gets bored or restless. My son and I love this class. We go to the Mommy and Me class in Campbell with Ana and it is such a wonderful activity for the under-2s. There aren't many activities for children that age that offer structure, learning and fun all in one class. Most other classes are just free play or music-focused but Let's Play in Spanish combines music, fun, play and learning all in one and is structured to hold the child's attention. Every 5 minutes there is a new toy, musical instrument or learning activity led by the teacher, often through music. It is an ideal way for under-2s to learn and my son loves every minute of the class. I don't speak Spanish and didn't take it at school but I still can follow the class and am actually learning a lot myself, which is great as I wouldn't have time to take language classes in the evening right now so I look at this as a 2-for-1 deal on learning Spanish for me and my son! This is a really immersive and creative environment, and is a good jumping off point for parents who are interested in having their kids learn Spanish at an early age--and possibly continue with Spanish as they go to Kindergarten. Susy has a Pre-K and fun summer camps in addition to her classes. The coolest thing, perhaps, is the Susy is a total artist. This is by far the best mommy and me class. I have been taking my daughter to classes with Suzy since she was 2 and she is now almost 5. Suzy is nothing short of amazing. She engages each and every child. She truly has a gift for teaching. She is such a special human being and loves what she does. I have taken both my children for almost a year to Susy Dorn's class and it is excellent. I am a spanish speaker while my husband is not and I find it difficult to sometimes teach my children since they only hear english from my husband. Susy's class has been a great tool for my children to understand and speak spanish. I have seen great improvement from my 4 year old. Her teaching method is about disguising the learning with games and songs. There is no time for even young children to get bored. Susy always maintains the children's attention. I haven't experienced any other teaching style similar to this...maybe because I think it's very latin american in style. I have never had a problem registering for any of Susy's classes. This is the best education program I have brought my daughter to. She and my husband love teacher Betty. We also bought the CD, DVD, and book and my daughter is addicted like the things are crack.
