I was recooperating from a move from hell by a different moving company from Olympia WA. to…read morePortland which was the most traumatic experience I've ever encoutered in my lifetime of moving all over the world. My husband had just passed away and I was further traumatised by their horrible service, lack of professionalism, disorganiztion and carelessness with our possessions, then even more incensed when I saw how they packed our items like a stack of garbage. Hearing good things about Two Men and a Truck I called them when I needed to have things moved from storage into my apartment. Two Men and A Truck made the move from storage so stress free I almost burst out in tears. They not not only showed compassion and empathy but patience as well. They moved what items I chose for my apartment, and offered to come back, ( I will gladly rehired them), to redo the packing of storage so I could go down from 4 units to 2. My bill was extremely fair, and they put everything exactly where I asked them to at my apartment. This move was stress free, pleasant and a relief. A big shout out to Christopher Horn and Logan Parish from the Hillsboro/Beaverton hub. Thank you for making this Grandma one happy customer.

We assumed a professional moving company would arrive with basic equipment (straps, harnesses, or moving aids) and the know-how to move large furniture. They did not. The three movers were kind and polite, and this review is not meant as a criticism of them personally. However, they were clearly unprepared for the job. No measurements were taken, no equipment was used, and they appeared unfamiliar with basic techniques like angling furniture through doorways. This was frustrating, especially since the couch had previously been delivered through the same doors without issue. When the crew struggled and stopped, they called their manager, Brandon. Based on what we were seeing, my husband honestly said it wasn't going to work with this crew. Despite the fact that nothing was moved, we were charged $190. After the movers left, my husband contacted Brandon to discuss the situation. Brandon was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to take responsibility. When my husband pointed out that no measurements had been taken, Brandon responded, "Well how are they going to know if it will fit until they try?" despite the fact that using a tape measure is a basic, professional step that was never attempted. Brandon refused any refund or partial credit. We are out nearly $200 because Two Men and a Truck sent an unprepared crew and then backed that up with poor customer service. If you are moving anything more complicated than boxes, think carefully before hiring this company. We strongly encourage the owners to consider additional customer service training for Brandon. His behavior showed no professionalism, accountability, or interest in finding a fair solution. If he is an owner, that is even more concerning.

My move consisted of two stops, my apartment and then to my storage locker to move my belongings to my new home. I had everything taken apart and in boxes, When we arrived at the storage unit. All was well, until one guy dropped my table (breaking the legs off of it) and threw a tantrum. And it all fell apart. Everyone stopped working. F this, F that, I quit!. I'm dumbfounded. I look at the other movers who are just watching. One of the other guys says that he has a tantrum every move and you just have to wait... After the tantrum, he decided they couldn't move all of my stuff that day and that I would need to hire them again the next day to finish the job. He knows there is another truck available tomorrow. (What?) The truck from the apartment was packed well, using all the space to the ceiling, the second half of the truck is packed only waist high. And what was left was mostly totes that would easily stack. Salvaging the day I have planned for weeks, I get more stuff loaded (but not everything) and let them know I would not be hiring them again the next day to finish the move. I give them the address of my house 2.5 hours north, and go back to get my cat. I arrive to find the truck waiting halfway down the driveway, backwards. Same guy, another tantrum. - Not willing to drive the truck down the 2% grade. (Why am I negotiating with Movers to do their job?) I tell them that the previous owners had movers that had no problem, one of the other movers grabbed the keys from him and drove the truck to my house without issue. I had them unload and leave. Total bill ? $2760. truck fee $250.00 move labor 7:30-9:30 14@ $180.00 $2,520.00 14 hours of labor - 2 hours of which they stopped working during their tantrum and 5 hours of them sitting in the truck - driving 2 1/2 hours each way (Yes, they charge full price for them to return home from the move as well.) Two main issues. I'm paying a crew $180/hour, having to manage their issues and negotiate what they will and will not put into the truck. Most importantly, my move was not completed, and I will have to finish the move myself, which I would have done in the first place, knowing what I know now. (see more below*) I give Ben, the owner, a chance to make it right. His response - "Sorry you had that experience, hard to find good workers, how about I give you $200 for your truck rental?" My response? 'Ben, that's completely underwhelming.' I call and out-of-state friend to help me with the logistics of moving the rest of my stuff. I: Rent a truck drive down load drive back unload on July 4th weekend. Another 10 hours of my life, but I am all moved. I submitted my expenses with pictures to Ben a week ago. Haven't heard back from him. What was left fit in 1/2 of a 10' truck. (Picture of what was left below) It would easily have been able to be completed if they had packed the second half of the truck to the ceiling. This was a thoroughly unprofessional and expensive experience. *Here's the helpful information I learned: If you are a packer and planner and can drive your own truck, U-haul gives you the option to hire movers to load at each destination. You can have them load the truck where you're moving from (2 hours, 4 hours, you pick), and then hire a different company to unload it when you arrive at your destination. This would have been 1/4 of the cost of hiring "professional" movers.

Their quote was…read morereasonable; however, I was fairly certain that they had underestimated the time, which they had. I believe they charge you from the time they leave their facility until the time they return, so keep that in mind when estimating your own cost and keep careful track of when they come and go so that you don't get charged more as that almost happened to us. Their employees were friendly and polite and arrived within the timeframe they had promised. We had three guys show (instead of the two that were expected). They moved the furniture fairly quickly as we had a tight window to complete the move on both ends. Unfortunately, there were a couple of items (an electric fireplace and a shelf that we are aware of thus far) that we discovered had minor damage, so be sure to wrap everything carefully that you really care about. They also forgot to bring some of the bolts for the bed frame (which we discovered later) and their drill from the first location, so my husband had to drive back to original house to let them in. Despite these few issues, we were happy to have movers who actually showed up when promised and did what they said they were going to do. We would absolutely consider using them again.

About halfway through our move, we heard some intense yelling followed by a slew of curses and threats. I was en route from loading my truck and witnessed the older staff member of Tiny Tim assault his younger co-worker by shoving him violently against the stairs and grabbing his throat, wringing his neck while screaming, "You wanna call me an idiot again? Say it one more time, a**hole. CALL ME AN IDIOT AGAIN." It was awful, I'm sure they were having a difficult time, it's hard work, but the younger employee was both embarrassed and deeply affected throughout the rest of that awful load-out. He apologized to us for having to witness that, and I told him that he shouldn't be working with a violent abuser. I really don't feel right about what went down there, that poor dude looked like he could've started crying if he hadn't stuffed his personal feelings down so quickly, no one should be treated that way while doing one of the most physically demanding jobs you can be paid for around here.
