Our first venue that we had our heart set on was not working with us to hold our wedding in 2020. Our florist referred us quickly to these ladies three months before our scheduled wedding. They were super responsive immediately and got us in for a tour and to our luck had our date still open! The place is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. The convenience of tables, chairs, linens and chinaware included in the price was a huge plus. The newly renovated Grooms and Brides rooms are super pretty. Tracy was always so quick to answer all of my many questions through text and telephone conversations along the way. Deb was there the night before at rehearsal helping set up and putting little touches to our décor we brought along, that she had. The day of the event the ladies were always checking in with us to make sure everything was running smoothly and if we needed anything. I am so happy we went with Whispering Pines of Carlisle and would have definitely started with them from the beginning had I did a bit more research on locations in this area. It comes close to inedible. First, breakfast....over cooked eggs, and I know that they have to be liquid pasteurized eggs, but they are so over cooked, held too long in a steam table are hard and awful. Saturday lunch, some they called grilled chicken - NO sign of grill marks, but a steamed half breast, in some sort of fluid, covered with dry herbs that made the chicken looked grey. The other option, heavily breaded chicken "tenders" and cold french fries. NO vegetarian options are EVER offered. Saturday dinner, something called roast beef. As an experience food service professional again, this product is not roasted, it is a frozen pre cooked "pot roast" it was "painted black:" with some sort food coloring. Served in a pool of think brown sauce. Inedible. The other option? Fried fish triangles. Fried food offered two times in the same day. Side dishes? Instant mashed potatoes and woody frozen asparagus. I ate asparagus. The potato was unseasoned and tasteless This is about the 10th time I have attended weekend events for 10 years and the food gets worse every year, with the possible exception of a few years ago when it seemed they actually hired a cook. On the other side of business management, there is SO MUCH WASTE, large bowls of condiment packages - financial waste as well as trash. AND after years of attending - they sTILL USE STYROFOAM ! WHY! They have a dishwasher! Plates and real flatware - but use gross styrofoam cups and bowls for salad WHY! AND I have addressed my issues with management many times in the past, I have offered my services to create a plan to save money and offer better quality food.
