I took a tire in for a repair I thought would cost at least $30. The owner said he focuses on fixing what customers have as much as selling them new equipment. He fixed my wheel for $3. I came back that afternoon with my wife. Because he had explained what he could offer and all he could do to earn our business, we left with her new E-Bike. The owner Nick and his staff are incredibly professional, friendly, and really care about making sure we leave their store with a profound feeling of satisfaction. Today in the store they helped us get the perfect fit for my wife's bike, they were knowledgeable with the products and inventory, helped with adjustments, it was such a simple and easy process. It's a big store with loads of bikes for trail, gravel or road biking in every price range and the tune-up and repair work they do is top notch. There are bike shops closer to home, but Trek Bicycle Shawnee is worth a little longer drive. Special kudos to Grayson who recently fixed me up with some new carbon wheels and handled the warranty work on some others.

I'm on the hunt for a new bike shop, and Elite Cycling didn't exactly win me over…read more I popped in looking for a seatpost replacement, and the overall vibe and attitude were not the best. They told me I should just fix it, and to their credit, gave me some tips. The thing is, we're moving, selling our house, packing, etc. and I'd rather they just help out with a seatpost or offer to schedule a time for me to have them fix it. To me, it felt dismissive. I then inquired about a new bike, something I've been excited about the past few years and saving up for. I told them my budget for it which is on par for a small car, and they said "We aren't gonna have anything in that range." I was a bit shocked, and they clarified it's more due to Covid disrupting the supply vs demand. I know that's an issue, but again, dismissive to be shot down when I have the cash ready to go for a good new road bike. Overall it felt like they couldn't wait to be rid of me in the five minutes I was there. I got to know the folks are two now defunct bike shops and actually enjoyed going in to them. This one definitely didn't bring it for me like the past ones. I get it, they're in a high dollar area and can afford to get by without the friendly neighborhood shop feel, but it's not for me, and I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

The way he spoke with my daughter to help fit her to the right bike was just so sweet. He was helpful and encouraging of her. He was also very respectful. I am SO happy that the Bicycle Depot has come to Waldo! I have two Trek bicycles, and both of them…read moreneeded service. Thankfully, I live fairly close to the Depot and so was able to bring both of them over without difficulty on the same day. I had called ahead and explained the situation to Dave; he was extremely friendly and helpful and assured me that yes, he would be able to take care of both of my bikes and they'd be ready to ride again within the week. He was as good as his word! Within 3 business days, he called me to let me know the bikes were ready. While I was at the shop, I had several questions regarding the usual care of my bicycles. He was extremely patient and helpful and explained several points of bicycle maintenance, such as regular cleaning (do NOT hose down a bicycle!), airing up the tires (and the importance of relying on a pressure gauge, not how full the tire "feels"), the finer points of shifting, and what to do if your chain slips off. I know his time is valuable--there were lots of bikes in the shop still needing to be worked on--and I appreciate him taking the time to help me be a better bicycle owner and rider. It's good that the shop is open both days on the weekend; since I work on Saturdays, I rely on Sundays to get many of my errands done. It's nice to have a business that I can visit at a convenient time and day. Dave and his crew have won my loyalty! There's nowhere else I'm going to bring my bikes for service (or for general questions). Bicycle Depot is the BEST!!
