Take this wonderful store, and it was a dream come true. I was lucky enough to be visited by one of your lovely employees, Sreya, who guided me across the many paintings, furniture, and other knick-knacks organized beautifully across the store. She put up many great conversations, and it was a lovely interaction that we had while I scoped out which products to purchase. While talking with her, I ended up buying this lovely trinket to commemorate my time in MN. Thank you for having such a lovely store and for hiring such wonderful people.

I'm just going to come out and say it - this antique store is lame…read more I was SO disappointed after wasting my time walking through the entire store, every nook & cranny, first floor and basement. This former bank building is full of modern crap and - maybe - some things I might consider "vintage". It's little more than a big garage sale...a garage sale where I wouldn't buy anything! I managed to find only a handful of items that I'd consider antiques. For example, how many 1990s glass tumblers do I need to look at? And why would I want to spend money on a dance trophy from 1999? To make things worse, the two staff members at the front desk were busy looking at videos on their laptops. They said nothing, never looked up, and were completely devoid of any customer service skills whatsoever. Don't bother opening the door. Don't let the small size from the outside fool you. This may not be the biggest antique store but they know how to pack some value in a smaller place. If a high end antique store on Royal St. in New Orleans or Village Saint Paul in Paris had a baby with the best thrift store in Brooklyn, Antiques White Bear would be it. Great finds with just enough digging, reasonable prices, and workers who care enough to help out, but smart enough to let you get lost in their treasures.

J & E is, basically, 2 large heated pole buildings that are packed with antique furniture. It's a residential neighborhood. The storage buildings are behind the house of Lonnie, the owner. Since this is his home, he's open by appointment. I didn't realize until I talked to him for a while that Lonnie used to be one of the owners of J & E in St. Paul. They were on Arcade, near the 3M plant for decades! This is where everything went after they closed - Lonnie's pole buildings. After decade in the business, Lonnie really knows his stuff. This stuff aint cheap. There's hardly anything under $1000. Many of the pieces are in the $3000, $4000, and $5000 price range.
