I went in to have my Polaris looked at for a broken wheel and needed to purchase a new tail. The guy in there was obviously completely overwhelmed and couldn't give me a straightforward answer on when he would even be able to look at it. I try to avoid shopping on Amazon to help smaller and local businesses...will buy what I need on Amazon. Horrible customer service...didn't even bother to help. Won't be back. read more

Brought my Polaris in for what I thought was a simple problem with the filter instead I needed a complete overhaul. Kevin and Blair did a fabulous job restoring my Polaris to new condition in less than 20 minutes I can't say enough of the outstanding job they did recommend the store Latest pool issue was a failed pump. Not only did Billy give me a blow-by-blow instructions of how to remove the pump and reinstall it but when I had a problem with with the new pump Billy patiently replaced it and did all the electrical wiring work ensuring a flawless reinstall. I've been patronizing store # 516 in Mansfield for a long time. The current Manager Billy W is the main reason I drive past another Lesiles and go to this store. That reason is Billy. I've been a frequent customer in this Leslie's over the past few months and have had nothing but great experiences with all the staff members I've encountered. A recent experience prompted me to finally write a review, along with my want to counter some of the negativity expressed by some in the reviews here. I brought in an older Polaris 280 pool cleaner to inquire about getting a few replacement parts. After a wheel axle screw went missing and the other stripped out, our cleaner wound up running around in circles in the deep end. I'd gone in expecting to purchase a replacement axel, screws, plates, etc. and was blown away by the level of service from Billy and Blair! They not only gave me some used screws and plates, but an entire used housing they had laying around, which fixed my stripped screw issue! Plus, they even swapped all the parts over and reassembled the 280. All this with nothing more than a request that if I ever replace my cleaner, to donate my old one so they can help out another customer as they did for me. If that's not phenomenal customer service, I don't know what is. Billy and Blair were both incredibly professional and extremely knowledgeable. True assets to Leslie's and their profession. My rant for the day!!!! I went online after being told you can not buy a pool in store (Burleson TX location) I ordered a pool set on April 28th. Then the pool Liner was left out. Called they said it was on the way. Sorry about that. We get the liner on 05/18/2020. The company that we hired to come put the pool up came out yet again to find out the wrong liner was sent. We ordered a 27 foot pool and your company sent a 30 foot liner. I have called and sat on hold for over 1 hour and 30 min to be told you are going to e-mail the return department. I have advised I have a child's birthday party this weekend the 6th. I have called you every day from the 18th and yet you still have not even offered to send the correct liner. I have sent several e-mails I have sent photos of the box the liner is showing we did not open the box. Your company is the worst to work with and I will never recommend anyone to buy from your company. Also on the same topic I called every store in the dfw area and tried to get a exchange the (Mansfield Location) told oh just bring it in and we will exchange it for you and have the correct size sent to you. I loaded up this 200lbs box and took it to the store to be laughed at and told I was not told that. All I want is my pool liner so I can have the pool installed that has been spread over my yard for the past month. Can you please help me! read more

I have been dealing with Leslies for over 20 years! I had my own pool construction business for 25 years. During that time, I also contracted with Leslies to install above ground pools, pumps, filters, liners, basically anything a pool needed, we did. I worked with Leslies stores in Wichita Falls, Texas, Lawton Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, and several in the DFW area. So I have a great deal of experience with numerous store managers and assistant managers. I can honestly say, Billy, the manager of the store in Mansfield, is THE BEST, I have ever had the privilege of dealing with!!! He is very knowledgeable about equipment, parts, and pool chemistry...BUT....most importantly, he is HONEST!!!! He doesn't try to sell customers things they don't need. He doesn't try to sell a certain pool cleaner, just because it is the most expensive one. What he does do is, provide you with knowledge, based on his experience, and allows YOU to make the best decision based on your specific needs. No where else, in my dealings with Leslies, have I ever experienced the quality of service that Billy gives his customers!!! And it's not just me, I have listened to him many times, take the time to explain, even to the most inexperienced pool owner, the ins and outs of pool chemistry or how pumps and filters operate. And lastly, he is the kindest, most polite man you could ever meet. A warm smile and a firm handshake is his distinctive trademark !!! UNBELIEVABLE! Terrible service and advice that would have HURT my 3yr old boy! Unless you have a "real" pool, dont bother. The staff was rude (all 4 I dealt with), unfriendly, and downright gave me terrible advice! If your a beginner and need help, dont go here. I bought my 3 year old a little 8'x30" 631 gallon Intex pool, on Saturday. I've been through many of blow up pools and this time I wanted to at least keep from re-filling up the pool every weekend and getting slime on the walls. So instead of just going to wally world of trying to do this myself. Sunday I decided to go to a reputable pool place and get solid pro advice on how to keep these little pools safe for my kid. When I walked in, everyone seemed pre-occupied and just busy with existing customers not one can I help you. I finally got in the water testing line and when it was my turn I tried to explain what I was trying to accomplish only to be handed a bottle "cant do anything without a water test" Honestly, he was right, if I wanted real results I needed a real starting point. So I headed back home, brought the sample back and waited in line. After some time it was my turn, a different associate that handle my the bottle was going to test my water and asked the size of the pool. I said it was a 630 gallon, and proceeded to explain why I was there and that my son was learning to swim and wanted to keep the water as maintenance free as possible. He was extremely disinterested, and asked me zero questions, and didn't even respond to me. Being new to this, I asked a lot of questions, and mentioned that I thought I could treat it like a spa. The young associate said "What "I" would recommend is the flipping frog" A 30.00 frog with a large tablet in it, that flipped over when it was time to change it. It had a cartridge and I wouldn't need to do anything but leave it there. I said okay, and tried asking a bit more...how much are the cartridges, if I could leave it in 24x7, how long would it last. He giggled "I dont know, an unfiltered pool that size it will probabaly last 6 months" So I came home read the instructions and put it on the lowest setting. I noticed that the "lowest" setting was for a 2000 gallon pool! This was 630. I put it in anyway and we played in it all night, my wife got out because her legs "itched". The next day, Monday, I couldnt help think that the fact that the Frog was for pools 2000 to 10000 gallons was a bad idea so I decided to call about my concerns. I called 30 minutes till closing. I said specifically that I was worried about my son swimming in a pool with this much chlorine and that I thought the product was meant to be used in a much larger pool. She just said "I need to retest the water, come by tomorrow to talk to my manager Billy" Basically, we're about to close. I filled up the bottle and got there 10 minutes later, 20 till closing time. This time I got to wait in a longer line and hear the associates talk to each other about 'why do people come all in at once right before closing" right in front of about 4 customers! When again it was my turn, she tested the water, again I tried small talk on what I was trying to accomplish. She was SHOCKED on the HIGH chlorine level and almost laughed about how high it was, showing he co-workers the "colors" how high they we're like they never noticed it before. I told her the story on how the associate recommended "The Flippin Frog" she laughed and the guy next to her comically said out loud "Someone recommended, the flipping frog???" That always makes me feel good. At this point I was like "Okay... the guy recommended this product to me, and the water test printout I brought in SAID 630 gal" Again they just recommended I talk to the manager. And oh I will! If I took that kids "recommendation" and not come back the next day to get the water tested" Then what? I would have let my lil 3 year old swim in it that night. Listen. I NEVER post bad reviews, and I was nothing but kind with all the employees, going to that store for pool advice from someone that know nothing about pool chemicals. on top of that the advice given could have REALLY HURT my little boy! What if I left it in there 24x7 like I was told? and he swam in it a week later. Their solution? Let it rain in the pool, leave the cover off and let the chems burn off or dump and refill. By the way, I talked to the manager Billy, his advice was to dump half the pool water and refill, which I'll have to do...Thanks for costing me 300 gallons of water guys! from a pro pool supply store.. read more

Employees are very inconsiderate of customers. My husband went to the store to speak with them about testing his water. He was waiting in a long line with other people that wanted their water tested. A large man was taking care of the customers when a black gentleman came over and said that he needed to go and drop some things off. The large gentleman then began to argue with the black gentleman (my guess the manager) in front of all the customers that he was supposed to get off at three and did not want to stay here any longer. The large guy said he would drop the stuff off, off the clock of he had to. The argument persisted for quit a while, while customers waited in line. The argument ended with the black guy walking off with the items he needed to drop off. On the way out he shouted jokingly, "hey how's your water?" To which my husband said "I don't know looks fine but it's eating chlorine." The black person wanted to know how large our pool was. Just moving in our home, my husband of course did not know. He just said well it's 5 ft deep and this long (tried to point at items to show the length). My husband said he just wanted to test the phosphates in the pool. An argument ensued between my husband and the black gentleman about whether or not the size of the pool mattered or about the phosphates. The black gentleman told my husband that he should call our builder. (Which we don't know who that it and neither will our realtor know how big our pool is). Eventually the large gentleman had to break them up by turning to my husband and asking him to go home and measure our pool and he will tell him how big it is when he gets back. This isn't the first time customer service here has been more than poor. There have been two other occasions that I entered this store upset on how I was treated. Employees laughing at the questions that I asked, never being a pool owner before, and trying to take advantage of me on some occasions to buy very expensive cleaning equipment. Basically they treated me like I was stupid, made me feel that way by their comments back to me, and tried to make me buy the "top of the line" cleaners. I would put no stars if I could. I have never been treated this way nor has my husband witnessed an argument between a manager and an employee about who gets to leave. read more

The Leslie Pool Mansfield employees always greet me & other customers as soon as we enter. They actually seem glad I'm there! Rare in retail, lately. They listen to my questions & reply still smiling (bet the hear the same ones over & over). This visit, Matt & Blair listened to my problems with my pump. They asked a few ?'s, suggested solutions, showed me on a demo pump. I took their advice. PROBLEM SOLVED. Cost - $7.99 pool gasket lubricant Previous REPAIR experience has been GOOD. Last was pool cleaner. Turns out, just needed a bolt & labor to replace. Billy just said it was minor, no charge. read more

THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING OR GETTING A REPAIR FROM THIS LESLIE'S STORE!!! We took a pool cleaner here to be repaired by "Billy" and after a complete and expensive overall, it broke again after two months. Of course it was "no longer under warranty." We felt that since the cleaner was older, we'd give the store another chance so we went there to shop for another cleaner. We ended up purchasing an expensive pool cleaner at the advice of the store manager (Billy) who promised that we could return it within 14 days (as per Leslie's company guidelines for defective equipment) if it didn't work. The cleaner he recommended performed poorly (didn't clean our stairs or seats) and took the paint off the bottom of our pool. When we tried to return it well within the allotted time frame (after only 10 days of watching it run over and leave debris in our pool and seeing it destroy the paint on the bottom of the pool), he informed us that we would have to pay a 15% restocking fee!!! The cleaner was defective, horribly designed or both, but Billy was unwilling to budge. Even the employees at his store felt he should have taken the cleaner back and told us so, but said they were too afraid of losing their jobs to do the right thing. I am convinced Billy will tell you whatever it will take to make his store money and leave you hanging out to dry if you have a problem. Consider yourself warned and take your business to another Leslie's. read more
