For the past 4 years, we have had to battle a horrible contagious disease that we inherited after purchasing English ivy from Calloway's in Arlington and in Mansfield. And they still, as of last week we're still using the same grower and selling the same diseased plants to the public this nasty English hobby that is diseased and they don't care at all. To top it off the employees had to be pointed out the disease and they didn't even know what it was and it spreads like wildfire and will destroy your yard. & garden.I have to pluck about 100 leaves a day with this brown and yellow halo spot on my leaves. It is a copper deficiency. And then the district manager named Anita accidentally messaged me instead of her boss saying that I was getting on her last nerve and not wanting to replace my IVy with needle point IV after losing the majority of my English Ivy in my yard. she said she would never slam me or smeer my name to her employees and then I receive this message that she accidentally sent to a me instead of the corporate office, besides their prices being sky, I will not give them my business when they don't give a hoot about taking care of business. They are more than willing and advertise,, '"Let us come landscape your yard," yet, not once did they come out and look at my yard I had to bring them the evidence. This has been going on for four years at least for us. The simple solution is and was, change the grower that you get your products from for goodness sakes... I am 72 years old & love growing a nice garden & yard. ...HELLO??!!‼

I have driven past this nursery for over a year and finally decided to stop in over the weekend. I'm pleased to say it was a definite win! They have a huge selection of flowers, plants and accessories. A little pricey but the pots seem to be durable. The only downfall I will say is none of the staff greeted me at the door nor were in the aisles available for questions. There were two clerks at the register who were friendly but one was on her phone so customer service could be improved. I purchased a bag of potting soil, a small daisy, a medium lily and a large pot for an existing ivy I have at home. Total was roughly $56 so looking forward to their reward program.

Calloways is always one our many stops in the spring on weekends. They always have healthy plants and the lifetime warranty (with receipt) is a plus when buying the trees, bushes, and perennials. So far we've only had 2 plants die in our yard and that's with a lot of $$$$$ many spent on our landscaping in the past few years. New homes don't come with the good stuff anymore. Only source of discontent lately is that most of the locations on this end of the DFW area have pretty much all of the same items. We say a few odd trees at a location north of Dallas a few weeks ago, but it was an hour and half away from our house. Hoped we could find these trees closer at one of the 3 locations near our home. Not the case. These 3 locations all have the same normal trees all the other places have that every other house has as well. We like the off the wall trees to add decoration and add an eye catching look because it stands out as different and out of the ordinary. Such as the Chocolate Mimosa tree we saw up north. None of the location in the south area have them.

    It's a winter wonderland

This was my first time at Calloways and I enjoyed browsing the aisles. The staff are good about checking in with you to see if you need anything. They have rows of different types of indoor and outdoor plants. The prices are on the higher end compared to places like Home Depot. I ended up purchasing two mini cacti and the cashier was helpful in regards to plant care. I also bought some cactus and succulent potting mix that I look forward to using next year. I'm grateful to have a nursery nearby that has multiple locations in the DFW area.

On the others side they had all of the trees and bushes, some we've not see elsewhere. They had a Chocolate Mimosa tree that we've been wanting for our lot, tho no price, and we forgot to ask. They had a weeping peach tree, super cool, haven't seen one of those, it had fruit on it as well, tho online sites say the fruit is purely decorative only and not edible. Prices were actually really good, especially on the perineal flowers and the bushes. $8.00 for some of the 1 gallon plants, and all are well grown and healthy. Can beat that price elsewhere. We talked to some of the staff for some time in the office about plants and landscaping, listen to them and them listening to us in regard to our extensive landscaping at our residence. We wanted to see about a Cascade Falls Cypress, which is a weeping cypress tree, they didn't have any in stock, that's no fault of there's, as it's a rare tree that's hard to find, partly because they take years of growth before they can even sale a 3 foot tree. They have a supplier that has them but can't get any until next year. We will return to check on that tree as well as get some other good deals. They have a lot of hardscape items, flagstone, landscape stone, rocks, etc. this is a really nice place.

We hired Blooming Colors after our backyard got completely out of control. We had weeds everywhere,…read moredead plants, and honestly it just wasn't a place we even wanted to be anymore. I've worked with landscapers before and usually you get a lot of talk and not a lot of follow through. This was different. They gave us a few design options, walked us through everything, and actually communicated throughout the whole project which was huge for me. What really stood out was the quality of the work. We've paid for "premium" service in the past and never really felt like we got it. With Blooming Colors, you can tell they care. The details, the cleanup, the way everything came together, it just felt right. Now our backyard is a place we actually want to spend time in again, which I didn't think I'd say a few months ago. We'll be using them going forward for both our home and our rental properties here in Southlake. No question.

I walked into Blooming Colors Nursery on Saturday, ready to spend money and left Wednesday…read morewondering how $500 trees come with $0 worth of integrity (for context, similar Japanese maples run about $115 at Home Depot). Here's the story... Before purchasing, I made it crystal clear I needed HOA approval (as an "exception" because it's not on our approved landscaping list). On that lovely Saturday, the very helpful sales associate, Olivia, confidently assured me I'd get a full refund if the HOA didn't approve. No mention of store credit. No caveats. That promise (and my love for those two trees) was the only reason I agreed to move forward and let them hold the trees on my card. HOA said no. I came back expecting a simple resolution... and instead got a full rewrite of reality. Olivia wasn't there, and the staff immediately insisted there was "no way she would've said that." One employee chimed in, "I trained her myself," followed by questions about whether I "saw all the no-refund signs." The manager doubled down with, "I really don't believe she said that." All of this--despite having a witness that was standing next to me who heard the entire conversation. Let's call it what it was: not confusion... gaslighting. After things escalated, the owner came out, seemingly only after I mentioned disputing the charge. She agree to refund me--but not before trying to shush me, telling me to "be quiet or wait outside," and saying, "I'll refund your money and you can go buy your trees elsewhere." Nothing says "family business values" quite like dismissing a paying customer on the way out. The trees were beautiful, no doubt--but their integrity and respect wilted faster than a Texas agave in August. If you shop here, get everything in writing... because their word clearly doesn't take root. Better yet, don't.
