Everyone at the salon was very sweet and accommodating. It was a nice environment. I went in for a modern bob and got an appointment with the shop owner, John. What I got was an uneven mess. Instead of a stacked bob, I got the back of my head shaved and thinned beyond recognition (I already have thin hair). Then on the sides, it looks like 2 "curtains" that don't even look like the same haircut. I immediately went in to a different salon and she said it was possibly the worst work she had ever seen. She called some junior stylists over to show them what happened and used the opportunity to teach them how to avoid it. I did not complain to John and try to have him fix it, because I just wanted him to put the thinning shears & scissors down. He clearly had no idea what he was doing and I didn't want him to touch it again. I wish I could post a picture so you could see. I went in for a modern bob, which was supposed to be a little longer than chin length. To get it "fixed" to look like an intentional haircut, I'm going to have to get a pixie cut. I have never had my hair that short and I have never wanted to go that dramatic. To add insult to injury, I was charged $45 for the haircut at Mr. John's! Save your money and go somewhere else. If the "master stylist" and shop owner doesn't have the skills to do a basic (and popular) haircut, I would suggest that you go elsewhere for a haircut. I wanted to give 0 stars, but the it wouldn't let me. Trust me, this haircut deserves no stars.

The initial appointment went fine, and I left with what I thought was a great result. I was happy to pay the $450. Prior to taking the step and making my appointment, I had done extensive research online, and watched copious amounts of YouTube videos, and felt I had a good idea of what to expect. Everything from start to finish, the marking, drawing lines, colors, pain tolerance etc. Within just a few days, after the excess ink had washed off and the skin started to heal, I became aware of the lack of actual symmetry, and what appeared as fading in the middle of the one brow. I returned to my touch-up appointment 4 weeks after the initial appointment, and pointed out the areas of concern. Julie apologized, and ensured me that's what the follow-up appointment was for. So, I laid back down and endured another session. The pain is quite real, even with the topical applied. Again, I left, thinking all was wonderful, only to again, a few days later, realizing nothing had been corrected. The 2nd session hadn't changed anything! This is where I should add, that before EACH session, Julie had me draw how I wanted the brows. She gave me a brow pen. She didn't measure, draw lines, which is what I would expect from a professional. I found this highly odd, but again - one thinks you're in good hands, and dealing with a professional. This time I let a bit more time pass. The tattooing is painful, and having undergone two sessions and still feeling horrible about the result, I wasn't exactly in a rush for a 3rd. I spoke with my husband about what to do. Does a customer even have recourse? The fact nothing had improved after the touch-up session, made me feel a 3rd time wouldn't change anything. The same fading was back, and the lack of symmetry did I was still having to "draw" my brows on every day, just as I had always done. Just as I was about to make an appointment somewhere else, I decided to send Julie an email, explaining my dissatisfaction and disappointment, and to ask her if she would help cover my expense going somewhere else. She replied after about a month, and pleaded for me to come and have her try one more time. Not really wanting to spend another $400 somewhere else, I agreed. But no .. 3rd session changed nothing. Again, Julie free-hands when she tattoos ... no lines, plus she site to the side of you, and not behind. I'm surprised the result wasn't even more horrid. Needless to say, I was done. Just done! After 3 times, with brows that were now turning purple because of the substandard ink used, I gave up. It was time to go somewhere else, and actually get a face again. I made an appointment with the highest ranked micro-blading tech in AR (Affinity), paid the $350 and have AMAZING brows now. For the sake of professionalism, I wrote Julie an email the following day, letting her know what I had done, asking if she felt compelled to contribute to the new expense I had had, due to her lack of skills. This is now 9 days ago, and I haven't heard back. To anyone considering going here for permanent cosmetics - save your money! 6/21/2017 UPDATE - I resent my email to Julie, and she sent me the following answer back: "Thank you for your feedback. I do hate that you were so unhappy with your brows. You and I have worked together at each visit to draw guides to reach your goals. I put strokes in each place you asked for them and you seemed pleased with that. You and I had also discussed another visit last time you were here. Instead of that next visit, you decided to go elsewhere for a different procedure. I am glad you are happy with your recent microblading procedure. Sadly, at this point, there is nothing more I can offer you. Again, thank you for your feedback"

I could have taken Ashiatsu training here, but I have learned that I am rather selective when it comes to who I want to receive training from. When I came across Tiffany Diaz on youtube, I was instantly drawn to her professional approach to teaching. I was equally drawn to Tiffany as its clear she takes fitness and health seriously and practices what she preaches. After contacting Tiffany about Ashiatsu training, she responding to me that day with enthusiasm and professionalism. She also gave me travel tips on where to stay in AR. There is a Holiday Express literally next door to her studio, and the airport is only a 5-minute drive. It made it really efficient to travel there by myself and not need a car. The training was an intensive 2 days, that started on time and we went straight to work immediately. I really enjoy the no-nonsense approach to massage training, and highly value that there were only two other students in the class besides myself. I left the two-day trainings feeling ready to do Ashiatsu on the public. We received a lot of hands on training, or "feet on training" during our class time, which is critical to feeling confident about selling a new massage modality through your business. Ashiatsu is unlike any style of massage, and Tiffany was there the entire time making sure our bodies were in the right place to prevent injury to ourselves or to the client. I also took the advanced Ashiatsu course the following day one on one with Tiffany. It was incredible to be a solo student, and I highly recommend if you take the beginning Ashiatsu course, that you follow up with one more day of advanced to tie it all together. I wanted to get the most out of my time in AR, and Tiffany definitely delivered. If you come down to AR to take Ashiatsu training from Barefootbodyworks, you should prepare to sweat, prepare to work, prepare to learn! Overall, Tiffany is an incredible teacher and leads by example. After I left AR, I felt on cloud nine. It is hard not to feel motivated around Tiffany! Overall, I took the leap to come to AR by myself not knowing Tiffany beforehand. And I can tell you, she is the real deal. I can also tell you, Ashiatsu was the right choice for me as I plan on having a lifelong career in Massage and need to use my body more efficiently, especially when it comes to deep tissue. Massage is really wearing on the joints, and by doing Ashiatsu, you can use your body in a radically different way. I also love receiving Ashiatsu. It feels like smooth, solid and deeper pressure that really gets the job done and keeps you very relaxed while doing so!
