After recently visiting a competitor and leaving disappointed I realized just how awesome I think Leslie's is! I refer friends there all the time. Parts can be pricey and you have to watch and price match from ads. But the young men who work there are soooo knowledgeable and helpful. When having problems with my Polaris they had me bring it in and they ran tests on it for free. They are a great help for those of us who try to maintain our pool service ourselves. The mailer coupons are always a good deal and I have never left this Allen location disappointed! The customer service has always been so helpful it makes it easier to be patient when they are dealing with customers. Because they care about proper pool maintenance and will take the time to explain things to you. I've had to wait a few minutes before but was acknowledged and asked politely to wait. Not a problem always something to check out while I wait. read more

Tried to use my 20% off coupon but was not honored because "I first needed to bring water for testing". Really? Enjoy the $20 you earned on me, I'll be shopping supplies on Amazon from now on. Hope it was worth it to you. read more

Let's Talk. My son has been patronizing Leslies for quite a while and when they had a sale on the pool pump he needed - that came with advertised free installation, and he ordered it. Leslie called him and said that the pool pump was not a free installation and that the ad was a mistake -- which was the company trying to get out of it as the pool pump itself has "free installation" listed under the part. We kept the copy. Then they agreed and later verified the free installation. However, Leslie said it was a "marketing mistake" and after numerous calls to management and corporate, they finally agreed to do the installation. The installer refused to come out, saying he didn't work for free (Leslie should be paying him in this case). After numerous additional calls to the store and manager, the installer said he would come out, but the store now said there was a $40 "travel fee" for the installation. AGAIN, after numerous calls to the manager and corporate, they said the $40 was for gaskets and would have to be paid by my son. Ok - my son was willing to pay that. The installer arrived and took the pump apart and said that there was a stripped screw that would have him break the impeller to get it out and that the cost now jumped to 370+ dollars. AGAIN, AGAIN, after numerous calls to the store and corporate, they got the estimate down to parts cost which now totaled roughly $173. My son didn't like this but agreed to pay for it. Then the installer said that he needed a reverse-threaded screw that the store didn't carry. He told my son that he would have to order it and when it came back in, he would come back and install it. My son called the store and guess what? They had it in stock. My son told the installer and he said, "it was too late and he had to come back later to do the work." The installer was full of excuses and delays which tells you what my son thinks of Leslie Pool Supply. On top of making 14 calls in the past 2 days to both corporate and the store, he now has to wait until next Thursday to have them finish what they started. If this sounds like the kind of Pool supply company you want working for you -- you can have them. See the picture below for how the installer left my son's pool. This sounds like something the FTC would love to hear about. Let me know if you have had the same problem with "free installation" at Leslies Pool Supply. read more

This review is specifically for the knowledgeable service I received from a great young man named Harry. As a matter of fact,I called his boss the store manager this morning to convey how professional and knowledgeable Harry was. I have never been a fan of Leslie's primarily because of their customer service attitude. I've owned more than one pool over the decades and dealt with numerous Leslies(captive audience) over the years. It always seemed to me they had an entitled attitude that stemmed from the "the only game in town" hold they had on the pool supply market. While that hold has weekend due to the internet availability of pool supplies, there are still occasions when you need brick and mortar. Enter the Polaris Pool sweep. Over the last twenty-five years I've had many of these and repaired them routinely, squeezing the last bit of life out of each one. Why? because they are expensive. The next generation of the one I bought 5 years ago(now on its last leg) is almost twice the price. Plus, parts availability is an issue right now. So, even buying a new one is not a sure bet. I did not buy today but, my reconnescience was significantly helped by my visit with Harry. I say promote him to manager, give him his own store and replace someone with the wrong attitude! Thanks Harry! read more

Leslie's Pool Supplies - That's Harry Checking the price for me - Hot Tub & Pool Near Me - Allen, Texas

This location is not as large nor ornate as some (Preston @ Preston Park in Plano comes to mind), but they've generally got good people with good advice and all of the chemicals and "stuff" that you need. If there's a knock at all, you need to compare prices before you shop. There are smaller, independent shops that sometimes have better prices, but it's hit and miss. The best part about Leslie's, though, is the free water testing. Bring a bottle of water in (they even provide the bottle) and they'll tell you what you need. The people at this location don't usually push you to buy extras, which is nice. They'll gladly bring your heavy purchases to your car for you (like they just did with a 50 lb bucket of shock that I just bought). All in all, a good place to get your pool supplies and goodies. read more

Having not known a thing about pools, I've had a hard time figuring out what I need and how my equipment works. I've come into this store a whole lot lately and Bruce, the manager has helped me tremendously. With some excellent advice from him and some lengthy stages of work on home, I was able to resurrect my pond into a pool again. Thanks, Bruce! read more

I've been to this Leslie location twice and I'm not a fan. Their pricing is higher than what you can find elsewhere which would be okay if their service wasn't so terrible. I've been in this store twice and both times I had to wait for someone to man the cash register. My last visit was yesterday (Sunday) I waited at the counter for 10 ... ten ... 1 - 0 minutes for someone to man the cash register. And he managed to show up just seconds before I was about to leave the merchandise on the counter and leave. One employee was wrapped up giving a free water test and mini-pool maintenance seminar to a customer and another employee engaged people who just entered the store seeing there was a line at the register. A third employee finally showed up after being in the back room for some period of time (I didn't see him the 15 minutes I was there until the end). No apology for the delay, etc. read more

Updated Review: May 2015 - I stopped by their store last week - and noticed that they have some new faces in the store. The sales guys were friendly and helpful - which made all the difference. Original Review: 2 Stars - Poor customer service and high prices. Don't trust what they say about equipment and prices. read more

I have been shopping here and getting my pool parts at this location for the last 12 years. Shannon Smith is by far the best manager this store has seen. Her positive attention to customers and great service is refreshing and unchallenged in this area. Great experience as always. read more

Leslie's has helped me many times over especially with Shannon the new manager at this location she and the younger guy there have helped me over and over. Leslie's in Allen will recommend chemicals you do not need so be wary when you get your "free" water tested. In addition, their prices are hugely inflated on most everything you get from them. Check the web, check Crown Pools in Allen or even Lowe's or Home Depot. Finally, they will apparently try to charge you the regular price of anything that's even on sale. In my last straw and last visit ever to Leslies, they refused to refund me over $40 for a piece of equipment that was still listed on sale. I strongly recommend you steer clear of this store and undoubtedly any Leslies since it must be a corporate mindset to train their employees like this. read more

Shannon is AWESOME! She took care of three customers while on the phone with another customer who was over an hour away and needed help. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

Leslie's has received the last dollar they will get from me, after 40 years of pool ownership and countless thousands in equipment, chemical and peripheral purchases. The last straw has been the purchase of a Jacuzzi variable speed pool pump several years ago. Leslie's took on the Jacuzzi line and push dit hard when I came in for a pump replacement, the Jacuzzi system and Leslie's is a bad joke, no parts sin the country, weeks with a pool inoperative, dozens of phone calls, and I'm on my third motor as we speak. The last "motor" was finally replaced but the digital readout isn't working and the flip up cover is broken, I have to assume that those items weren't covered. Leslie's is the poster child for the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, the store tells you to call the 800 number, the 800 number tells you that the story has to handle it. I've made a dozen trips into the store and at least that many phone calls to try to get aaa $190.00 credit for a service call on a warrantied pump failure, almost a year and all that contact, no one has ever even returned my call on it. They have lost a lifetime customer over a crummy product recommendation and a $200, bye bye Leslies's! read more

I have been going to Leslie's for years now and have always had amazing service. The crew there is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. There is a young man that has worked there many years named David who has helped me numerous times. I want to point out that this kid (yes I said kid, hes only about 18) is the most friendly, helpful, and caring person you will find in retail. Anyone with a pool would be a fool to not go see him for their pool issues. He always finds the solutions to your problems the quickest and cheapest way there is. When entering the Leslies in Allen I never feel like I am going get sold something I don't need. David even said "I am in business to get your money, but the last thing I will do is steal it from you." I think that says it all about this location, a pool store you can trust! read more

I use this location as my 1st choice for the commercial hotel pool I take care of & for my own personal pool at home. They always have a great attitude & willing to help with anything I ask of them. Shannon Smith is the store manager & with her help this is my favorite pool supply store. Good weekly sales & great service. Two thumbs up. read more

Poor communication, limited knowledge of robotic pool cleaners, and one of their employee (younger female) is very rude. I have also found their products to be over priced. My last experience with this store was dreadful. I dropped my pool cleaner off on a Sunday, after not hearing from them all week, I went by the store the following Friday. At that time they told me that no one had looked at it but they will call be before they close, of course no call. While I was in there I spent over $200 on 1 float and 2 bags of salt. After I left a message for them on Saturday they did return my call only to tell me that they are not experienced with repairing the robotic cleaners but they will look at again with someone else. The following Monday, after no call, I called again and left a message. My call was returned again only tell me that even though he doesn't know how to work on them, he thinks I should replace it and they mysteriously lost any records of the warranty work I had completed at their store. When I came to pick to cleaner up from the store, pieces were missing and the cord was tangled up. The clerk just walked away as I untangled and wrapped up the cord so that I could get in my car. With so many options for pool supplies, I recommend going somewhere else. read more

I had an error message coming up on my pool that required a service call. Leslie's Pool Supply said it is probably a bad mother board but we need to confirm that before ordering one. They charged me $106.00 for under 5 minutes of work which involved them pushing two buttons on my control panel to find out the mother board was bad, which I could have done for them over the phone saving me the $106.00. Then I am told they cant replace the mother board, you have to replace the whole system and that runs $1100.00! I passed on committing to spending that kind of money with them and searched pool services in Allen, TX online and called two local pool service companies. With no info given on Leslie's quote both quoted me replacing my mother board, not the whole system. Both were almost $400.00 less expensive. When I asked that I didn't think you could replace just the mother board, the guy laughed and asked if Leslie's told me that... When I said yes, he said they have a tenancy to give all pool people a bad name by overcharging for work or requiring more than is needed. He went on to say he has replaced two this week, and that the warranty length for the mother board is the same as the whole system. This is the second time Leslie's has quoted me 30-40% higher than local service people. Lastly Leslie's quoted me 1-2 weeks to get the part in and installed where as the small local guy said it was in stock at a third party warehouse and could install it the next day. Beware everything from equipment, to filters, to supplies are 30-40% higher than the smaller local guys. I am done with these crooks! read more

False and misleading signs in the store. The sign hanging from the ceiling above the cash register clearly states "SATISFACTION GUARANTEED! If you're unhappy with any product purchased at your Leslie's store, simply return it with your receipt within 14 days for a full refund or exchange.". My wife purchased a 35lbs bucket or chlorine tablets for over $100 on Monday evening that we did not need. I tried to return it Tuesday afternoon only to be told that you can't return chemicals. Even if it's less than 24 hours later and they are unopened and sealed. When I asked about the sign hanging in front of me I was told that it is on the back of the receipt. It's a little bit late once I have the receipt to learn the true return policy. The store manager stated that they are protecting their customers because the product wasn't in their control once it left the store. THE BUCKET WAS STILL SEALED! The 2 foot sign hanging over the cash register means nothing! It is a blatant lie, no other way to characterize it. Whatever money they think they've made or saved from denying the return will be lost in addition to more money lost due to no future business from my or my family. Overpriced on top of it: Leslie's Pool - 35lbs for $93.99, Sam's Club - 40lbs for $78.99. read more

Like Jerry Y. said in his review, I am not a fan. They seem to have prices higher than other places, and getting any help here takes forever...but today was just the last straw with us. We bought a clock here for our pool area and found one we liked better at another store, so we *tried* to take it back. At first they would not take it back because it was 32 days from the date of purchase -- 30 days is their limit evidentially. After about 30 minutes of argument, they decided they could refund us on a credit card. Out to the car to get it, we got back in -- they had it out of the box and now, mysteriously, there appears a large crack on the face of the clock. We were completely flabbergasted that they would deliberately damage it with our backs turned so we could not return it. The seal was still on the box when we brought it in, so they *knew* that we had not opened it, yet now that "we" had damaged it, they could not take it back. These guys are crooks....don't go in. read more

We love terry and the guys here. We drive past a few other locations just to come to the Allen store. Terry is the manager and Cody is the assistant. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. They are very honest. They just don't tell us what we want to hear, they tell us the truth. From a smaller to a major purchase. They speak to us on a respectable level. They don't expect us to know everything but they help us figure it out. Our pool has never looked better. They recommend the easiest fix not the most expensive way. We tell all our friends to go see terry and Cody. The other guys there are also amazing! This is by far the best leslies in the area! read more

Pool sweep wasn't moving as it should in the pool, looping in tighter circular motion more than it should. I had my pool sweep serviced with intention of replacing internal worn-out parts in the drive train. They took the time to replace the parts only to find that the frame of the drive train was slightly warped - enough to cause the wheel gears to bind a bit, but not lock. Instead of simply replacing the wearable parts, they suggested a replacement of the drive train body. They went through a cost comparison between replacement parts and the new drive train body, which was helpful in determining the best way forward. I went with the new drive train body and they reassembled the sweep. I took it home, reconnected and ran it. Pool sweep runs right! Finally! That was a good call to accept the new drive train. The folks at Leslie's took the time and effort to diagnose what was really going on with the pool sweep and the outcome was excellent. read more
