When you exit from Shea Boulevard, it will be the very first left you can make on 114th St. From there on in you will be in the office complex. Just follow the numbers to where the institute is. The complex may be new and the maps have not changed. You may get proper directions when you. Just keep this in mind. Have a safe trip. The institute is a school, and you will be served food by students prepared by students. At the end of the meal you will get a short form asking your opinion of the meal and service. The school has its own way of doing things. Please be patient with them, they are students. For example they will not seat incomplete parties. You can be less patient with established restaurants that do the same things. The service is fine the students personable. Despite our group ordering almost one of everything, the execution was timely. No one complained that any of it was bad. We were served, without choice a seared Tuna appetizer. Some in our party did not care for anything close to raw, and were unhappy. Soup followed, of which the Gazpacho, (a cold soup) was excellent. They served a Pasta dish of bucatini: with heavy cream and panchetta. It was done to perfection, with the pasta being almost aldente and the pancetta lightly browned on one side. Other selections were chicken, short ribs and salmon. Prices varied but not very much. Expect to pay $30 plus tip and drink. Some items were a little less. The meal included a dessert of German Chocolate cake, which was thick and dark, permeated by coconut and abounded with a thick frosting. Coffee is served on request. What's served is what I call "ingredients food": it's flavor come from the ingredients themselves. Little technique is required. although technique was required for the Gazpacho. Salmon or Short ribs need steady cooking, and they had no adornments. You must know how to cook them. The how is simple, because baking is the one method. This is a really good place to go. The dining room is a big room with many tables. Attractively decorated with beautiful art hanging, beautiful tablescapes with the kitchen set off in the back. There were 3 app choices: I had a delicious citrus salad with greens, blu cheese and very tasty dressing. For my entree, I had a perfectly cooked salmon sitting on top of a bed of succotash. The dessert was a trio of tiny pastries - Cheesecake, lemon tart and a strawberry choc. mousse. Chocolate strawberries on the table as well. As good as any restaurant I've eaten at. I was lucky enough to get one of ten seats for the kick-off of The Farm Sessions... what a treat. For those that don't know, The Farm Sessions will take place each week at the Farmers Market from now through the end of the season (May 29, 2010). Each Saturday, a local chef will demonstrate (to a group of ten people), as they shop the farmers market and prepare a dish using fresh ingredients. Viking is the main sponsor, and I believe the space itself is there thanks to the Chef's Loft as well. But The Farm Sessions' concept is thanks to Joe Garcia, who brought his vision to fruition - kudos for that! Today's session was led by Chef James Porter of Petite Maision. He did an incredible job, keeping the session fun and interactive. I learned a ton and I scored one of the eco-friendly totes as well. Chef James made it look easy to create a gourmet meal of pork chop with salad and goat cheese and a fresh melon drizzled with honey and goat cheese for dessert. Our group of foodies followed James around the market and found the ingredients from the following vendors: -Made By Bees -Triple V Farm -Rhiba Farms -On the Vine -Seacat Gardens -Queen Creek Olive Mill -Pork on a Fork While today was free since it was the first one, going forward, the cost will be $40 per ticket and participants will receive enough ingredients to prepare the same dish at home for two, a recipe card, shopping/resource list and a market shopping tote. I am excited to see the line-up of chefs that are participating for future sessions - I am sure this will sell out each week, so plan on purchasing your tickets early! Not only was Sean incredibly friendly and helpful but the food was (DUH) phenomenal. We had a moz and tomato salad (perfect starter) followed by a kale with white bean side accompanied by some awesome pan made croutons. Using some ingredients straight from the stands at the market was a cool way to incorporate local goods (woot buy local!) This was a great way to start day two of our trip.... a definite must check out local or tourist alike! Only criticism: We had reservations but by the time we got there non reservation folks had taken our bags/seats... flipside of that is that the guy who was hosting the event went out of his way to get chairs and ensure we were taken care of...

I've never paid so little and received so much in return. I believe this class is for people of all ages. Even if you're already a bartender, I think the 32 hours of training are well worth it. If you've ever wanted to become a bartender, this class will put you well above other candidates applying for bartending jobs. If you're single and simply looking to meet new people, this is a great opportunity. For me, it was a wonderful bonding experience and a chance to make new friends. If you're married or part of a couple, whether you're looking for employment or not, you'll become much more knowledgeable about what to serve guests at home, parties, and special events. If you're still figuring out what you want to do as a career, this class offers much more than bartending skills. You'll learn valuable interviewing techniques and professional skills that can help you pursue almost any job. If you already have a favorite drink that you order at restaurants, prepare to expand your horizons. You'll discover drinks you never knew existed and learn which cocktails pair best with different meals. I'm also speaking to anyone investing money in higher education, whether that's college, trade school, or career training. The relatively small cost of this class can easily pay dividends if it helps you land a job at one of the thousands of establishments throughout the Valley that serve highly profitable alcohol. Think you don't have the time? They offer weekday, weeknight, and weekend classes. Even better, the cost includes your Arizona Food Handler's Card and Arizona Title 4 Certification to serve alcohol. Just as earning an Eagle Scout rank or a college degree can open doors, so can bartender certification. The classes are intentionally small--around 10 students or fewer--which means you receive plenty of one-on-one attention from the instructor. My instructor was Greg. He shared incredible stories, was extremely encouraging, remarkably patient, and genuinely determined to help every student succeed and pass the course. I truly don't believe there's a better value anywhere when it comes to education, training, or life experiences than ABC Bartending School. And honestly, this review is only what comes to mind off the top of my head. I've left out so much more. Highly recommended.

And at every turn, every possible opportunity I have been dissapointed by this school. This supposed "Art" school lacks any classes that would actually qualify it as an art school, and in that regard Metro manages to somehow offer lessart classes than a majority of public schools, lacking any culinary classes or even woodworking. This school offers no opportunities for students to excel within their own classes or grade level by offering the opportunity for students to skip a classes if they have already studied or learned the topic within a class outside of the school. That aside, the school does not support students who wish to gain college credits as they progress through school and as such a majority of the students cannot benefit from gaining early credits. Even still the school has absolutely terrible management, from the absolutely mediocre job as a principle that Matt Baker does. Where as he rarely participates or is even active around the school. The poor sanitation conditions within the school bathrooms both male and female. The unfulfilling and almost laughable attempts at a legitimate prom that this school has. Whereas it is poorly planned and funded, poorly put together and absolutely terribly executed. Even other students here laugh, at the miserable and terrible management this school suffers from. The teachers constantly changing yearly and the new ones coming in not knowing how to adequately teach their students. Overall this school is an absolute waste of time, money, and resources in general save yourself and your children from this absolutely mediocre excuse for a school and go to an actual school. Paragraph construction and organization skills provided by Alhambra Traditional School, not Metro Arts, this school taught and gave me nothing but disappointment.

If you fail a class (could be for any reason) & have to do an appeal don't bother. Dean McInerney will deny it & give you no explanation as to why. Which in the states they are to explain the denial. None of the chain of command cares. They may listen to you but ultimately they will side amongst themselves. The class credits are non transferable so you will have to start over at a different school. So, just imagine being so close to the finish line working so hard to accomplish a lifetime goal, to it being ripped from you forcing you to start over..if you have the mental capacity to do so. Nursing school is hard already, but these leaders in charge solely care about themselves and a paycheck. Couldn't care less about the emotional and mental trauma we endure in nursing school. Don't waste your money or time.
