The vibe is chill & lowkey; I am grateful they do not blast music because it's a sensory issue for me & I can get overstimulated, therefore making for an uncomfortable experience. The commute is cumbersome and I wanted to establish with a local stylist. Jeannie's was the perfect choice. I am in a wheelchair and Jeannie let me sit in it while she freshened my color and gave me a smart haircut. I was also able to stay in my wheelchair for the shampoo/conditioner. The back of the chair was tilted back. Jeannie's is great because it's a no-bullshit sort of place. Clean white walls, beloved regular customers, a chill vibe and reasonable prices. At my former salon, color and a cut with a tip was over $200. At Jeannie's it was $120, a nice surprise.

Do Bald Men Get Half-Price Haircuts?…read more It's about 8 barbers that work here, but depending on the day and time. You will usually only see three or four. (sometimes five or six on Saturday but that is the day I usually try to avoid because waiting for two or even four people is a very common if you pick a Saturday.) All the barbers that I've noticed are older men ranging from mid 30's to mid 40's They recently added a female that braids. (I'm sure guys but mostly only see other females/kids in her chair) It's a common African-American shop, but It's nice and friendly. Not rowdy at all. I've notice two of the barbs reading their bible on several occasions over the years....(I think one of the barbers is a deacon) Lining $10 Bread $10 Haircut $20 Haircut and bread $25. Seeing how I usually keep a ball head. I've tried other spots like Supercuts and even local spots that have the $7 haircut but find it's just not the same and end up coming back. Most are walk-ins.

He was so respectful, and he cut my hair the way that I asked. While everyone that worked there was great, I hope the owner consider doing some up grades in the future. The inside of the shop looks so historic, but it could benefit from a few upgrades. Overall, I would highly, highly recommend this barbershop if you're looking for a new barber. My old barber vanished into the thin air, and someone suggested O.J. to me, and I was not disappointed.
