Extremely popular place! On a Friday afternoon the line was out the door & round the corner! The wife just wanted a coffee so that necessitated a 20 minute wait. I'd have loved a shake, but I'd rather not wait that long myself. Time waits for no man & this man does not wait for a shake. read more

I was lucky enough to stumble across an article written by a local artisan about this Cafe and walked 40 minutes just to find it. It ended up being more than worth it. Leopold café is the most diverse, interesting, inspiring Cafe space i have ever seen. It is unique and has so much character without being overwhelming. There was a space to get comfortable and stay a while, take a seat for a short break, sit outside, read a book, for kids to play. Ontop of that, the menu was really cool and full of drinks from hot to cold, to caffeinated to smoothies, to cakes and sandwiches to bagels. I could have easily stayed all day. Lovely spot. It's 9am and the place is packed. The atmosphere is inviting for all sorts; Kids, business people having a meeting, Construction workers, Hugh school girls, Young professionals. Hard working female staff do a good job handling the line. My croissant was not super fresh. My large cappuccino was great. I love the mia matches chairs books toys and sofas. I see where they're going with this bar, but it just doesn't work. My friend made reservations for brunch, as we were with a small group including little kids. When we arrived, it turned out that the staff didn't enforce the reservation when other people sat down there, so they just made us sit elsewhere on tiny tables squeezed together with hardly enough space. Moreover, this place is cramped anyway. Random objects on the shelves. Too many tables and chairs. So that there are also too many people. There's hardly any space to move in the queue in front of the counter, and staff is constantly annoyed because they can't walk around to serve or clean tables. Finally, the food and drinks are 'hip' and overpriced, clearly aiming for the young professionals with too much money in the neighbourhood. Also, the food quality is far from great. My vegetarian bagel with grilled veggies was literally swimming in oil. Maybe it's better on quiet days, but I'd say in the weekend this is one place to be avoided. read more

Downgrading this establishment, which was out of bagels *and* eggs this morning. Service consisting mainly of shrugged shoulders. Opted for a croissant, which didn't taste that fresh, and not very impressive tasting coffee. Not in a rush to go back! read more

This is a great place for a Saturday morning tea and a croissant. It's cozy (sometimes a bit too cozy), and the food and drinks have always been good. It's a somewhat kitschy interior, so whether or not you're comfortable to hang around for awhile depends on what table and chair combination you get. One thing that is awesome is that there's a little nook for kids with some toys and a projector hooked up. At least on Saturday mornings, they show old (roughly 80's and earlier) Looney Tunes cartoons. I mean come on, that's fantastic. You need to educate kids on the classics. read more

There are people who come here for a bagel brunch and milkshakes. This isn't New York, so fuggedaboutit; shakes are milky and bagels, are, well... not what you're looking for. But let me tell you, all I have ever wanted from a corner café was for it to be exactly like Leopold. Coffee and hot chocolate with a little bonus madeleine if you stay, breakfast pastries, fresh baguette, juice, and PASTEIS DE NATA. Ok? CHEESECAKE. You understand? Beer! All manners of chocolate things, too. Plenty of stuff ready to grab and go for lunch. Newspapers. Postcards. Books. A nook with cartoons. iPads that do stuff that I haven't cared enough about to check out. The list goes on. I could live here, if I liked being around hungry strangers all the time. read more

This place has a super nice decoration - colorful and original and that is why I entered here in the first place. Today I went here for the fourth time - third time for lunch and I think it will be the last one. I ordered a soup and a bagel and I paid 14 euros - yes, the soup costs 5.50 euros! Honestly I think it is a scandal to ask this amount of money for a small bowl of soup. The place is nice for a tea and a cake but I wouldn't recommend it for lunch - prices are dam too high for what they offer. read more

I ordered a Latte Macchiato and it was a perfectly acceptable coffee. They had a nice array of pastries and even gluten-free cake options! The wifi worked well and there were outlets. Good study space and a solid coffee shop. read more

One of the best cafes in Brussels because of their hours and opening times. It has lots of room if you want to do work or meet with friends and has a really hip, charming atmosphere. Prices can be a bit steep but I love their macchiato. Overall, a lovely spot. read more

Brunch was pretty dire. It's a tight squeeze where even the service doesn't have enough space to pass between clients.

I haven't managed to sit there and have a coffee yet because the first time I arrived there i was surprised when they told me that it was the time to close ( Friday evening ) and the second time it was 6pm and they were about to close inhale an hour and i was able to have only a take away coffee!!!!, The place looks very interesting with great decoration ( I hope the coffee is above the average and by ordering an espresso you don't get a warm dark water like the most places around here). It is pity to close so early especially when the main competitor has open almost all day! read more

I had a slightly disappointing experience today. I would love to like this cafe since it is one of very few cafes in Brussels that (i thought) welcome small children as it has a children's play-den. I was there with my 2 and half years old son and my friend who has a 1 year and 9 month son. As my friend's son is only a little, he cannot quite understand mummy's instruction yet to remain quiet in public space (he is too young to communicate in language yet). In other words, he was joyful and loud, but within the boundary that can be torelated by adults. However, a staff member at Cafe came over and told us to be quiet for other customers there. If small children are unwelcome, don't put the small den as if they were welcome. It is natural that small children, like my friend's 1 year and 9 month old son, get excited and voice some excitement. Note that my son was not loud at all (as he is old enough to understand the instruction to remain quiet in public space), but to the staff's eye, my son was apparently loud too since she told me to keep kids quiet as well. My friend is very disappointed as she was in despate need to find a place where she can enjoy coffee while watching her son playing. She doesn't feel that she could come back to the cafe. and I do feel bitter about the whole experience even though my son was quiet. I thought people in belgium are quite understanding towards small children, but certainly not at this cafe. If you want a quiet cafe, take the den away and put a sign "no small children who cannot understand the instruction yet"! read more
