Although I felt like they were expensive, the specialty donuts were yummy. The donut holes were also, good. I feel like the regular, yeast ones that we got were a bit stale. It's hard to find good bakery these days. Service was good, no issues. Plan on spending a lot, I'd highly recommend sticking to getting the specialty donuts like the cinnamon roll, fritters and twist. read more

Stopped there on a whim 5:00 pm on a Sunday . We had coffee and a big twisted donut . Blown away ! Coffee was smooth, strong enough nice and hot, not lava and the donut was absolutely delicious. First and foremost fellow Tyndall Parkway creatures - this place opens at 5 AM, not 7 AM. Took a picture of the hours and submitted it to Yelp but they remain unchanged on the listing. So plenty of time to get a dozen for the office or fam before people get on the road. Nice older lady runs the place alone. She never takes a day off. The bacon, maple donut or bear claw is a fan favorite. The coffee is deli swill in the blue greek coffee cups that make me happy as a street cart vendor fan. It will disappoint any airman/sailor who believes in Folgers measurements being doubled at the drip coffee station at work or loyal Starbucks snob. Walk up and she takes cash and cards. There is no inside. Takeout only from window. The real test of any donut is if it is still good after a couple hours or the next day. I can confirm even the following morning, the donuts are brilliant. First, let me preface by saying, I am visiting in mid-January. This is a tough time for vacation spots. That said, I would have given it four stars, despite some of the donuts being less than fresh. Coffee, good and hot from the pot. This is your traditional pot, probably from big grounds. Coffee $1.90 for a big 20 oz. styrofoam cup. Got a dozen assorted. These were mostly at least okay. A ridiculously overpriced apple fritter ($4.50) got tossed in the trash can 'cuz it tasted nasty and was hard as a rock. And the lady wasn't very friendly, either. I visited Leon's Donuts in Panama City, Florida, and tried their apple fritter and glazed twist. Both were very good. The fritter is less doughy, but with more apples and flavor. The twist was also tasty, but less substantial than others. The "braids" we're untwisting even while holding for the photo. Just moved to the area. My family and I are Donut fans and try to find the best in the area when we re-located. Leon's was cute little walk up shop. A little overpriced (in my opinion for a half dozen). Donuts were ok. They were too dry for us. For the price you pay I was expecting something a little more light and fluffy. Would still recommend if you are in need of quick donuts. Service was fast and efficient. read more

Despite their online claim to be open 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., we were there at 5:30 a.m. on the 4th (because it didn't say online that they would be closed; tourist town on a major holiday... great time to do business, right?) and they were closed. I love a good doughnut, so I was pretty excited when I pulled up. My son and I each got a maple bar. Mine was plain, and his had bacon. When the cashier asked for $7.00 I thought I misunderstood. Seven dollars, for two regular doughnuts?? They were good. Better then a grocery stores, but by no means a gourmet, high-end doughnut. My family used to frequent this donut spot regular on our vacations and really enjoyed their donuts, but sad to say things here have changed drastically. We visited the Friday before the 4th of July around 8am. So we thought the donuts would be fresh and up to their normal standard. This was not the case. Donuts were greasy and stale. We got a mixed dozen and at least 4 whole donuts just ended up straight in the trash. The filled donuts barely had a quarter sized dollop of filling the middle and a dozen donuts was NOT cheap. My friends and I decided to do a PCB Donut Crawl one Saturday morning. The first place didn't have any donuts left at 10am. :( The second place Leon's did! They don't have a million crazy creations, but what they do have is reeeeeeeally good. Everyone's eyes went straight to the beautifully glazed filled donuts and the maple bacon donuts. I opted for a yellow cake donut that was glazed. I normally don't like cake donuts, but let me tell you, I was blown away. The cake donuts they serve are soooo moist and not dense like I was expecting. Everyone definitely left satisfied. The staff that helped us were really kind and patient.
