First off, ambiance is nice. Frank Sinatra, couches, nice lighting. It was almost completely empty on a Thursday night at 6pm. We were greeted immediately by who I assume was the owner. She was nice and allowed us to choose where we're sat. I was in a party of three. We chose one pizza to share, truffle fries and each got a drink. They have a mocktail menu (if you want it spiked, bring your own booze). We each got one w no alcohol. We waited shortly for our food (about 20 minutes) and they brought out delicious truffle fries, enough to share among three people. We chose the burrata pizza to share. It was a small personal pizza, not nearly enough for three people. The pizza was yummy but they give you scissors to cut your own pizza and it was SO soggy. The crust was good other than the fact that it was raw. We ordered a second pizza, a classic margarita with mushrooms and sausage (not my choice). It was completely soupy and raw. The sauce was watery. Also, why was a mocktail $7? It was only three sips in a tiny glass. It came to $81.00. Overall, it was not worth it at all. Maybe I'm bias because I'm from New York and I eat a lot of pizza. I probably won't go here again. People were nice, food wasn't.

A culinary treasure serving authentic, Neopolitan style pizza using exceptional ingredients which is evident immediately. We shared a burrata pizza with arugula and balsamic drizzle. We also ordered the white clam pizza that was delicious and had a hint of lemon. The truffle fries were also delicious to have with our pizza. The atmosphere is relaxed with live music ! A gem in the Elverson area.

Delightful place! Went on a Friday night with some friends and the food was good, atmosphere was nice, and service was wonderful. There was live music too. Awesome little band!!

These were good signs that an authentic dining experience was about to occur. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting and the staff is terrific. We enjoyed it so much we made a repeat visit the next day. We were lucky to have Maya as our server on both occasions -- what a wonderful young lady! She spent ample time with us explaining the whole menu, some local favorites and the love that the owner/chef puts into his dishes. And she checked in with us often. Excellent! We had a great time on both visits. From cocktails, appetizers, entrees and our desserts, Maya walked us through everything - so friendly and knowledgeable! We enjoyed the sampler appetizer with bruschetta, meatballs and mushroom crostini. Very good! Bread came out with our soup and salad - my wife's Lobster Bisque was very good and my house balsamic salad hit the spot. On the 2nd night we had the crostini variety, with fig, honey, prosciutto - great! For entrees, the "Sunday Gravy" dish can easily feed two - delicious! An assortment of meat simmered in their sauce with homemade pasta. My wife enjoyed that on visit #1; my son went for it on visit #2. We also enjoyed the Chicken Milanese and 'Ndunderi - delicate gnocchi in vodka sauce with small Wagyu beef meatballs baked with smoked scamorza cheese (similar to mozzarella). Excellent! Desserts included chocolate lava cake w/ ice cream and a smores-themed dish. Very good! We can't wait to visit again ! Definitely try Salute when you're in the area! Ciao!

Unfortunately that's where it ends. Service is a 1-star. There seemed to be a language disconnect with the server. An overall near-zero experience. Our server was attentive to other tables seated after us who received their desserts before our entrees. Not one table check-in before, during or after the meal. Had to actually get up out of the seat to make sure the drink order was understood and it was right because the server did not seem to understand. Maybe that put the server off. We also flagged down other servers for assistance during the meal and even for ordering dessert. It took a long time to take payment for our bill. We almost got up to pay at the bar. Thus the crap shoot gamble at La Sponda. Atmosphere a 2.5 star. Loud atmosphere with a heavy metal music rotation. Good music, just not for this dinner atmosphere. Overall a 2.5-star on the strength of the food. We will not be back. Spending the money I did, even though the food is good at La Sponda, I don't want to risk a bad service experience again there. Not worth it for us but might not matter for others. Nevertheless - Caveat Emptor.

The food had both highlights and disappointments: * Lobster Ravioli: Tasted very good, although the portion was small. The sauce was flavorful and enjoyable. * Cioppino: This was the standout dish of the evening. It was loaded with delicious seafood, and while the pasta was slightly overcooked, it was still a very good meal. * Penne alla Vodka: The sauce was delicious and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the pasta was overcooked, but we still enjoyed the dish overall. * Caprese Salad: This was disappointing. The mozzarella balls tasted like they came straight from a container, the tomato wedges were not ripe, and instead of fresh basil there was a dark green paste-like topping. It did not taste fresh. * Chicken Parmigiana: This was the weakest dish we tried. The chicken was neither crispy nor particularly tender or flavorful, and the penne pasta was very soft and overcooked. Bread with olive oil was provided, but salads were not included and had to be ordered separately. Overall, this is a decent restaurant with excellent service and some very flavorful dishes, but consistency in the food and pasta preparation could be improved.

Not one, or two but Six came with appetizer, like I said, we were there to eat!! Tempted by the creative menu and the numerous seafood dishes, we opted to keep it old school, chicken cutlet parmigiana!!! A massive cutlet covered with love and a thick layer of oozing hot parmigiana. Fantastic! The cutlets came with a rustic bowl of penne in a tantalizing blush sauce and kissed with some yummy cheese shavings. Completely full, I was unable to explore dessert but I happily managed to cleanse my palette with a complimentary shot of homemade lemoncello which was like a goodbye hug from a staff that was welcoming and attentive throughout our meal. This might've been the highlight for me. It was rich and flavorful without being heavy. For my entree, I ordered the seafood pasta special, which was gorgeous and colorful with shrimp, clams, and mussels in a lobster cream sauce. It was creamy and the fish was very fresh. I didn't pay this time, but it was a bit on the pricier end with entrees ranging from $25-$35. I really loved it here.
