Pea salad--delicious!
Mary Tish P.

Really good fast food. I'm a healthy eater, so I haven't had fast food in years. It was so nice to be handed my food, healthy food, immediately! My favorite entree is the aioli chicken, served with brown rice & slaw (healthy slaw with no cream). My favorite sides are the pea salad, hummus, & waffle fries. The prices are affordable. This restaurant is quite small--best for take away. Highly recommend for a quick, cheap meal.

There's a big difference between fast-food and food...fast. This place is a great example of that. My wife and I were strolling through London and looking to pick up a quick, cheap bite at a place we'd never heard of and Leon was staring us in the face. Fortunately, we were not disappointed. In fact, we were really quite impressed! The staff was helpful, considering we had never been here before and the options were really enticing. We decided on the Thai Green Curry Chicken and the Sweet Potato Falafel. Both were really great choices, very tasty, and with substantial portions for the price. Leon's menu tries tries bridge the gap between cost, speed, healthiness, and quality. From our experience they are doing a great job of it and we would definitely be back.

Moroccan chicken with brown rice and coleslaw-like veggies. Gluten free! Also tasty.

Leon is definitely the best fast-ish food place for gluten-free eaters and people who need to eat quickly and don't want to eat junk. I've visited a few Leons, and they're reliably good. This one is located right near Soho which makes it a great stop before a night out. This time I had the Moroccan chicken with brown rice, which was good and well prepared. You felt like you were eating actual food, if you know what I mean! I've even uploaded a photo of it. My favorite part is that they have all sorts of gluten free desserts: brownies, traybakes, and even pecan pie! Gluten-free notes: These people make it really easy with each dish labelled as GF (gluten free), WF (wheat free), DF (dairy free) and even give tips to vegetarians and vegans.

This revolutionary natural foods restaurant/ café will change the way you think about food! Now that I think about it Leon is one of the best reasons I come to Carnaby Street. For starters, this restaurant chooses their menu based on the time of year the food is in season- the way food should be consumed. Leon remixes foods you are familiar with such as chicken or salmon with flavours like chilli, Mexican salsa and alioli. I am in love with the clean and refreshing interior along with the art deco-ish theme. There's a delicious selection of breakfast foods including yoghurt and porridge all for around 2! Also, there's a great selection of classic British favourites- with a twist!

I love the light fresh food they serve at Leon. I remember discovering Leon when it first opened on Carnaby Street, and relishing on its simple concept and healthy food. However, I cannot help but feel that Leon has now given in to becoming a profit-making machine as it slowly becomes a chain. The locations have increased and the prices have inflated. It is still however, a great concept and I cannot deny that the food is good. Leon serves up a range of fresh foods such as soups, juices, salads, aioli chicken, wraps, falafel, and different seasonal dishes. My personal favourite is the Moroccan Meatball hot dish, served with brown rice and coleslaw vegetables. For those of you who enjoy fresh juices organic juices, this place could also quench your thirst. All of the meals are served in recyclable, brown paper boxes and the decorations are sometimes a bit quirky. Leon can now be found in 8 different locations. You can refer to the website for more information.

Yum, yum! I love Leon, it's a great place to eat on Carnaby Street. My favourite thing about this place is the freshness of the food and the relaxed atmosphere - I find Carnaby Street a little pretentious at times. The place is usually quite busy, obviously it's Carnaby Street, but the fresh sandwiches and tasty juices are more than enough to keep you satisfied. A brilliant little shopping break if you need it, highly recommended.

Plenty has already been said about Leon, but there are a few things that I would like to add. I do love the concept of this place - there are too many unnecessarily expensive restaurants which value style over substance popping up in London, and far too many chains where the food might as well have been created in a petri dish because there are no nutrients left. It is for these reasons that I value Leon. The concept of fresh, seasonal and primarily organic food is much needed in London. A couple of weeks ago, when I was feeling run down, and my pockets were feeling empty, I popped into Leon and picked up a Superfood special - a mackerel superfood dish, a juice and an apple for £4.95. The food was delicious, so no complaints there. I will say though, that I want to keep an eye on Leon, I sincerely hope that it does not follow the formula of other expanding restaurants where the prices go up in direct correlation to the sizes of the meals shrinking, and most importantly the quality of the food decreasing. I have heard a few, but not many whispers about this with Leon. For now I will say that I think the quality is still as good as the day when it first started.

Lunchbox #2 - Morroccan Meatballs, Brown Rice, Salad w/ Hummus and Flatbread and a lemonade
Iza P.

I kind of regret stumbling upon this spot the last day of our visit. Particularly because the food was good, inexpensive, and it was right across from our hotel. Sigh. I particularly liked their lunchbox combo deals as it came with ample food for 2 (my mom and I shared the meal) and their lemonade is definitely fresh = tart. We chose the Morroccan meatball lunchbox which came with brown rice, salad, and hummus with flatbread. (Oh yeah, they're pretty healthy and earth-friendly.) The meatballs have a tiny kick to them, but were really tasty. The brown rice nice and fluffy, and the salad...well, my mom ate it all.

Have you ever heard of a fast food restaurant that serves actually good, fresh, and healthy food? Well, Leon is it! I was very surprised when I looked at their menu. They do not have the typical greasy food regular fast food chains serve. The food is served in brown boxes and are of good servings despite the affordable prices. The servers and cashiers were very friendly and they actually sing! They take turns to go around and sing standard songs to the customers which makes Leon a fun place too!

Cedric L.

I love this place, nice food, music and graphics around you, inspiring and great place for meeting. Plus, the food " properties " (gluten free, vegan, etc) are easy to catch

We ordered 5 different starters (meze) and then each of us ordered their own main course. The starters were definitely my favourite; in fact - I would recommend future visitors to only order a variety of starters (hot, cold, salads, bakeries) and not even bother with the entrees. These are the starters you may want to go for: Hommos Beiruty, Moutabal Baba Ghanouj, Mouhamara (excellent!), Lahem B'agine & Fattoush Salad. Here's my thoughts on the main courses: one of my friends ordered the sea bass and she said that the cut was very "unfortunate" as she was digging through bones. Usually, she goes, when you cut a fish a certain way, you can actually take out the entire skeleton at once and then enjoy the meat. But maybe this is the Lebanese way of serving the fish? On the upside, when you order meat for a main course, you will be getting heaps of it - the portions are really generous. I, for example, ordered the Chicken Shish Taouk and it was nice. Nevertheless, I suggest you stick with the starters and maybe one chicken dish (which would feed at least two or three). Also, you will find a cover charge on your bill, which "covers" such things as bread and sides of vegetables. Speaking of which, you will find that they place a bowl of fresh vegetables on your table: lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, mini cucumbers, bell pepper & radishes. To be honest, we didn't quite know what to do with them and so we left them mostly untouched. When I slipped away to the bathroom later on, I saw how this salad bowl is supposed to be used: you chop up the veggies and prepare a salad. Doh! The Lebanese beer tastes nice - so I can recommend that as well.

My multi course dinner had all good quality food and was above average and very enjoyable, especially the fish. Certainly plenty to eat! The final fruit dish was also just right, but I was rather full by then! I'll have to revisit to get more familiar with authentic Lebanese food.

A friend suggested we try out this new cafe by her office and thought it was the perfect day to try it. The shirt rib lunch special is popular so we gave that a try and it was delicious. I ordered the duck special and didn't really need a knife because it fell off the bone quite easily. I tried my friends seam bream and it was fresh and really good. All of the dishes were presented really well and thought it was such good value for money for the quality of food we were getting. The atmosphere is nice and casual so you can grab a salad or sandwich for a quick bite if you don't want to go for a proper sit down lunch. I'll have to come back and try the salads. Lastly, we had coffee and the sweet potato muffin which was amazing. There aren't many places these days that do proper homemade goods and not the kind that is defrosted! Service was lovely throughout. When I started reviewing on Yelp years ago, I wanted to share the love of small businesses like this because we are all used to chain restaurants and coffee shops but when you find a hidden gem like this - I'm just selfish as I want to make sure I can come back again and again.

Honestly, feeling a strong sense to give a one star review. Never thought I would be asked to leave…read morethe table "because the next party has arrived"... and at a Greek establishment? With wine still in our glasses, and coffee still hot?! Sorry, have to give a HUGE thumbs down on service. And offer my disbelief and dissatisfaction at whoever is managing this restaurant and borrowing from Greek culture, whilst missing out on the key component of Greek dining. Either you're a sell out. Or you're an outsider and you're exploiting Greek culture and cuisine. One the website we get: "MAZI, which means 'together' in Greek", but it should be followed with, "... but don't take too long, we will ask you to leave." Having said all of that, and trying not to affect the rest of the review, food was not great. Mushroom Chicken was the best dish (was the priciest line item - second to their service charge - but the only dish that I was impressed with). Tiger Prawn risotto was very bad (both the prawn, and the risotto). Grilled Octopus was average (size, prep and quality of octopus left a lot to be desired). The Calamari Citrus was also less than average. Lot's of the seafood sadly missed the mark - Tuna Crudo was the most satisfactory of all the seafood items. I will say that the cocktails were prepared well. Including a welcome drink. And the juices were fresh - albeit expensive. In fact, everything was overpriced - but it is London, I get it. Still wish the food tasted better. The atmosphere was loud and energetic. The cherry on top was the service charge (highest line item on the bill). Cheers to ownership and management for appropriating Greek culture and putting a heavy London spin on the dining experience. My family would have had some choice words for you, thankfully they were not present to be insulted. Anyone wanting Greek food, I would recommend to look elsewhere. The culture and cuisine has A LOT to offer, unfortunately Mazi disappointed for us.

Every single dish we had was superb, from the jars of tzatziki and tiropita to the crispy calamari and seabass tartare to start. The fresh bread, which was lightly charred, really paired well with the tzatziki and tiropita which were lightly whipped and so flavorful. The seabass came with a cucumber and jalapeno broth which had just the right amount of spice to elevate the fish. For main we split the lamb and grilled octopus which were both perfectly prepared. The lamb, which appeared to be sous vide, was cooked to an exquisite medium rare and the octopus had a great char both was still tender. The service and setting were both great and we highly recommend this establishment.

The owner is really, really into his restaurant and excitedly told us all about all the different specials and options.
