LEON can often be seen as more of a healthier fast food option, which is something the brand seems to pride itself on, this particular location is located inside London Euston, on the balcony level, next to Starbucks, making it a natural choice if you want something quick before or after getting on a train, as was the case for me, arriving into London from Manchester. This location is fairly attractive, with a decent amount of seating inside the restaurant, and more seating on the Euston balcony for when they get busy. The staff seem friendly enough, again above average compared to outlets nearby. There was no advertising for the LEON loyalty scheme, and all orders seem to be processed at the checkout, after placing my order, my food was ready in seconds, and by the time I paid, I began to step back to wait for my food, only for the bag to be placed ahead of me straight away. I was originally excited to find my food ready straight away, but the food had likely been sitting there for a while, it was lukewarm but not hot, my nuggets were good quality, and it's great to see GFC (gluten-free chicken) nuggets back on the menu, made with chicken thighs, but the waffle fries tasted worse than the frozen ones LEON sell at Sainsbury's to make up at home. Prices are a little expensive, but discounts are available for students/NHS, and you do tend to pay more in London / train stations anyway so probably as reasonable as you're going to get in Euston. 3* - One of the best options to get something quickly if you're using the train station, it isn't great, but will certainly put you on and satisfy that demand until you have more time. read more

Not too many good options at Euston Station for breakfast. Figured this spot was as good as any without much of a line on a Sunday morning. Basic café with coffee, tea, sandwich, and pastry options for the morning crowd. Settled on the Large Latté (£2.70) and a Salmon & Egg Sandwich (£3.75). Got my sandwich pretty fast but they forgot my coffee order, so that took an additional 8 minutes. Overall the meal reminds me of something you'd get at a regular fast good chain. Okay bread with an unseasoned egg, though salty filet of salmon fish inside. Decent food yet the coffee wasn't strong at all (ended up sleeping on the train). For the price, it's not all that bad. Probably better to stick with a pastry and maybe a double shot espresso. read more

I arrived at Euston flustered and wondering how on earth people do the early morning commute every day. My train wasn't for another 45 minutes so I decided to give Leon a try. Best decision I could have made. For the uninitiated, Leon do great food, but the breakfasts are a bit egg-centric. So as a guy who has been known to 'chunder everywhere' like a gap yaaaa student from eating eggs, I felt a bit underwhelmed. Sometimes you are just craving a sausage and bacon sandwich with avocado and haloumi... Anyway. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and when I asked for recommendations, it was a toss up between some berry-muesli-thing, and a porridge pot with banana, honey and CHOCOLATE - appropriately titled: Porridge Of The Gods. I was recommended the latter. We had a good chat about how young I looked, (thanks Clinique) and she very kindly got a bit carried away with the stamper, meaning I get a free drink or treat on my next visit. I'm not sure if that is a typical day at Leon, but it completely turned my morning around, and I'll 100% go back next time I'm at Euston! read more

If you go within the last hour of them being open don't expect much. I'm sure it's a great place during the other hours, however I wasn't so lucky. Every other item I tried to order they were "out of" as in they weren't going to make more for you. They were just in a rush to take money and get you out of the door. The chips were borderline crisps and you have to go back and double check your order. Luckily I asked about mine because they gave me the wrong order. I get mistakes happen, but when you add up the entire experience plus giving out the wrong order and when I got the right order it was incomplete. I LOVE Leon. I'm just starting with that. *sigh* Stopped in here quickly before my train home to Glasgow. Asked the server which of the salads were vegan to which she just repeated "yes, vegan" over and over. I eventually asked if the superfood salad was vegan (no eggs, no cheese I pointed out) and she assured me "yes, vegan". I ordered this to sit in with an orange juice. Sadly when I got this back to my table it has goats cheese on it. I took it back with my receipt and got stuck in a loop of "This isn't vegan, it has cheese. Yes, vegan!". After several rounds of this I asked if I could just order something else. I ended up getting the quinoa and green bean salad and the server gave me £2 out of the till. I don't even know if this was the correct difference or not! Also I noticed on my receipt that she hadn't even charged me for my orange juice. The salad was ok in the end but the whole affair left me with a bad taste in my mouth. This Leon is brand new and I have to say a very welcome addition to Euston station. Completed as part of the refurb of the mezzanine it has a good range of seating and more importantly power outlets for charging phones and laptops. Leon offers a quirky range of street food items and a very good selection of coffee and soft drinks. Most importantly for those travelling back from work after a long day it has San Miguel and wine which should make the journey home better. A very needed and well received addition to the station. read more

It's not an exaggeration to say that I'm pretty desperate for Manchester to get a Leon. Although we're getting better at healthier 'fast food', there still seems to be a gap for a quality offering - I'm not saying I want us to be overrun with chains, but Leon know what they're doing. After a busy day in London, we grabbed dinner from Leon before getting the train at Euston. There were a couple of queues forming when we first arrived but service was speedy and we found ourselves at the counter within a couple of minutes. Cue a slightly rushed decision! I didn't really get a moment to look at the full menu but, knowing I wanted something healthy but filling, decided to play it safe with the large chicken hot box with chilli sauce. As soon as I paid my dish was ready, and I grabbed some cutlery from the counter on the way out. Due to a busy first off-peak train, we ended up eating on the platform, but that's commuting for you! The portion size was larger than expected, with plenty of brown rice, and a generous portion of chicken. It was slightly dry as I'd left it for about 15 minutes after ordering, but the chilli sauce helped regain some of that moisture. The side slaw was also really good; not too creamy and enough to combine with the chicken & rice, rather than being a redundant element to the meal. At around the £6 mark, it's not the cheapest option, but the 'lunch' portions are less and can easily compete with the likes of Pret and EAT for quality vs. price. A lovely dish from Leon made a short wait for the next train less stressful and I felt like I'd had a proper dinner rather than a rushed sandwich from Boots. It's so refreshing to be able to eat reasonably priced, healthy food on the go! I did get served a sweet potato and falafel box with no sweet potato in, but what I got tasted great! By the time I'd paid the food was already on the counter and the staff were great - would definitely recommend! read more
