I was craving some crab and I am so glad I found this place. I got my items for delivery and ended up getting their Seafood Combo #5 and conch fritters. The Seafood Combo #5 included snow crab, blue crab, and shrimp. Everything was very garlicky but in a good way. The seafood all tasted fresh and were flavored well. It was delicious and was very filling. This dish also included coleslaw and hush puppies. They were good. As for the conch fritters, it included fries and a soda (which they unfortunately forgot). The conch fritters wasn't memorable and the fries were a little soggy. Overall I enjoyed this place except them forgetting my drink. The combo was $35 and the conch fritters was $11 so the overall meal was about $50. I thought pricing was pretty good. I recommend if you are looking for an affordable seafood spot. read more

This was my first time trying this restaurant since they moved. It was sad to see them move but it seems like it was for the best. This is a new location but the food is still good. Came here for an early dinner. I've heard about Leola's but I'd never been, even when they were at their other location. I had the whole mullet dinner with cheese grits, and fried okra. Mullet is definitely not my fish of choice, but It came with a whole fish split down the middle. The fish was amazing. The breading was crisped and seasoned to perfection, not too salty. The okra was good, however, the cheese grits definitely need some work. I am a grit snob and all I could do was throw them away. Establishment: Do not remember mask required sign at door however staff were wearing masks and a clear plastic divider was set at the cashier counter. There was plenty of seating and it smelled yummy from all the seafood being prepped. Service: The lady at the cash register was super nice, very helpful in asking if I wanted additional items and helping me select what I wanted. I unfortunetly did not catch her name but she made great conversation and prepped my order carefully to prevent any spill. Ordering: I ordered online and it took me about 15-25 to get to the resturant but once I arrived the order was ready. They let you take a quick look lifting the top open so you can make sure it's good to go. Taste/Price: When I tell you this was the best crab broil combo in town so far boy it was delicious! It adds up in price as you add sides but taste and quality are very worth it. I got two crab clusters, 4 boiled eggs, 1 sausage, shrimp, and two corn for $32 (with tip and after tax). Been wanting to eat some quality crab for quite awhile, then my friends came to visit, so we decided it was the right time. First off, I just have to say that the portions are huge. We got the fried crab and the garlic crab, and they could barely close the containers. This is good because crab isn't really a cheap item to come across, so knowing that you get what you pay for helps. The service was really good. I actually had ordered online through GrubHub, and it turns out that they don't like when people do that because it didn't actually reach them. So when we showed up, they hadn't received our order at all. Thankfully they said they would deal with it and made our food anyways. The food is pretty good. The garlic crab has a good spice mixture and the fried crab breading tastes great. Of course eating crab is a messy ordeal, so make sure to have tons of napkins! The breading on the fried crab made me wish I could just chew through the shell honestly. The small restaurant is located right in the corner of a small building complex, they have limited indoor and outdoor seating, and play some good jams while you're there. Definitely would recommend giving this place a look if you're feeling some good southern seafood! read more

Exploring Tallahassee for places to have seafood I found this spot. Which is on the south side. There's nothing fancy about it but the food is wonderfully seasoned. Upon walking in I was greeted with a friendly hello and how may I help you. The cashier was knowledgeable about items they had and what was sold out. The only complaint and I won't call it that but comment is that the cheese in the cheese grits needs to be amped up. It is a little to subtle for me a true cheese grits lover. The fish remained crunchy on my 10 minute ride to my hotel. The butter seasoned they pour on the crabs and potatoes was awesome. I think the use of fresh chopped garlic would provide more flavor than the powdered stuff. Overall I enjoyed the food. read more

In addition to being flavorful and perfectly cooked, they deveined all of the shrimp!!! What a difference that made for the flavor. Use to have great crabs now the crabs are very small and over seasoned would not recommend this place for blue crabs you will be disappointed. The young lady working at the counter was very unprofessional and stayed on the phone talking loud about her friend coming to get a dinner she ignored me and act like I wasn't sitting there waiting to order. The fries were thick cut and definitely helped to mop up the sauce that remained after working through the shrimp. I noticed fried okra on the menu, though, and I'll have to try those out next time. I have had leola's twice. Once from their food truck at Gaines Street Fest and another at their store. It was incredible both times. I had their boiled seasoned crabs both times, as well as their boiled potato but different extras each time. On the food truck I got the combo that also included some boiled shrimp. They were good, albeit a bit overcooked. I am overlooking it because the flavor was phenomenal and they were fresh. The next time I ate in. My combo included two sides. I decided on fried okra. I am SO GLAD I did. It was the BEST fried okra I have ever had. Perfectly crispy. You could tell the grease was clean. delicious seasoning in the batter and then seasoned outside of the fryer by a hand who has the right touch. I think about them all the time. Just perfection. The crabs are delicious and boiled expertly. Their boil seasoning is delicious and consistent. They are buttery and seasoned perfectly. The place is a DIVE on the south side. However, I don't mind. I love their food and will become a regular. The service was slightly slow at the end of lunch but they were packed. For food as good and as fresh as I got, the extra few minutes was nothing. Next time, I am going to get some boiled eggs and maybe tried their fried fish as well. If they use the same batter as the okra, I know I am in for a treat! read more

I ordered about $50 worth of crab boil from this place yesterday and I've done so one other time and the first time was great this time it was horrible. The crab on the inside was dry, something I've never experienced before, the shrimp were mushy, another thing I've never experienced before and the corn was cooked to death. I feel like they just sold me a week old seafood boil because that's what it tasted like to me. My stomach really doesn't feel that great today and I'm hoping I didn't get some form of food poisoning from this spot. See, this is why I don't even eat meat at all or seafood every once in a while. We saw reviews for this restaurant and figured we would try it out. It was worth it! We went in and ordered to go. The portion sizes were big. We ordered garlic and fried shrimp, a crab tray, wings and garlic sausage and it was plenty. The customer service was good, the young lady taking our order was patient with us and gave suggestions as it was our first time. The garlic shrimp and garlic crab spice was really good we used the extra to dip the sides of potatoes and the corn was great!! The fried shrimp had a good taste and were a good size. The wings we ordered were bar b que as my father didn't want spice and he enjoyed them and could finish all 10 for lunch. The baked beans were really good with a sweet taste. Didn't get a change to take photos as we began eating when we arrived home with the food. Would definitely recommend giving Leolas a try. We will go back for sure. read more

Seriously understated crab shack, truly a hidden gem Wow I have never been so appalled at how much flavor they can add on seafood given that most seafood taste alike but this was something else I personally believe everything tasted amazing which is something restaurants don't get right. At most seafood places, they sometimes will give you good appetizers but main dishes aren't as tasty. However here at Leolas Crab Shack, the sides, fries, the shrimp and the crab were all super flavorful and well distinguished from other places The prices are well priced and I feel like this is a luxury of a food to taste given how much flavor they give you Everything was honestly SUPERB from my first experience.
