We had a great dinner at Angelo's Seafood Restaurant while vacationing in the Panacea/St. Teresa area. The location is fantastic... right on the bay with beautiful water views. There's something special about sitting outside, feeling the salt air and breeze, and watching the water while enjoying fresh seafood. In an area where dining options can be a little limited, Angelo's feels like a destination. Our server was wonderful - friendly, attentive, and always checking in without being intrusive. For drinks, I ordered the Panacea Painkiller, and it was excellent. I'm a huge fan of painkillers and this was one of the better ones I've had. The kids all got virgin piña coladas and daiquiris and absolutely loved them. We started with popcorn shrimp which disappeared quickly. The kids all ordered the crab claws from the kids menu. We didn't realize they would come fried, and while that's probably exactly how most people prefer them, our family doesn't eat a lot of fried food, so I personally would have enjoyed them more broiled or steamed. That said, they were very tasty, and the kids loved them - especially one child who acted like it was the greatest thing he'd ever eaten. For my entrée, I ordered the whole char-broiled red snapper and it was absolutely delicious. I'm a sucker for a whole fish and they nailed it. The charred flavor was fantastic, and the lemon butter sauce that came with it was incredible. I'm also glad it wasn't fried, which let the fish really shine. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi and loved it as well. By the end of the meal, we were all completely (overly) stuffed. Overall, the combination of great food, friendly service, and the beautiful waterfront setting made for a memorable dinner. We definitely plan to come back to this area for future vacations, and we'd happily return to Angelo's. Next time, we may ask if the crab claws can be prepared broiled or steamed for the kids, but that's just personal preference. Great seafood, great views, great service. Happy customers. read more

I love Angelo's Seafood Restaurant. So for me, any trip to north Florida will include dinner at Angelo's. Love sitting outside. Enjoying a breeze and just relaxing with the family. Their seafood is freshly caught. So many daily choices. Start with a salad. Make it a trim Greek style. Salad served over potatoes with tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, purple onions, feta cheese, anchovies, Parmesan cheese and more. Yum!! Then get a freshly caught fish sandwich or a fish entree. The grouper sandwiches are delicious. They come with thick potato wedges. We also got a snapper and a grouper both cooked Greek Style. Lightly panfried topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and feta cheese. Served with hush puppies and a side of cheese grits. Perfection! So nice to sit and enjoy a delicious meal at the coast while watching the sunset. The simple joy of spending time with family. There has been a restaurant at this location since before I was born. I think the original was built in the '40s. I was told that the restaurant was built over the water so it could take advantage of Franklin County being wet and sell alcohol. Stand in the parking lot in Wakulla County and you better not have any booze on you. Walk into the restaurant out over the water and you could quench your thirst. Is it any wonder that it was a popular drive even from Tallahassee to dine. It's still a wonderful drive for delicious food on the water. Angelo's website tells me it was George's Grill and Bar at the start. It was Faiver's Restaurant when I came here right into the '70s at least. It became Angelo's in 1985 after extensive renovations. All of these versions have been owned by the same family. In 2005 Hurricane Denis damaged the old building. I remember seeing pictures of the missing floor throughout the restaurant. The damage was bad enough that the building had to be torn down. Amazingly, the family was able to rebuild while meeting new building codes for coastal buildings. It's much higher off the water now on a solid concrete foundation. It does mean it's a bit of a climb to the doors but there's an elevator for those of us that find that challenging. Once you get up there you will be rewarded with indoor and outdoor waterfront seating on Ochlockonee Bay. It's one of very few waterfront dining options available near Tallahassee these days. We have dined there a couple of times recently and it's always good food and good service. This last visit I discovered an off menu option for Costa Rican Amberjack. The waitress did me a tremendous favor when she mentioned it when I asked about the Charbroiled Amberjack that is on the menu. Besides the absolutely amazing presentation for the dish (check out my photo), it is equally delicious. One of a few destination dishes that so impressed me that I would drive specifically to get them. Like the Chipotle Pork Chops at Habana Boardwalk, the Spaghetti Bolognese at Mimmo's in Destin, the Ribs at Charlie Verdugo's Rendevous in Memphis and the Firecracker Pork Fusilli at Fuzio Universal Bistro in Modesto. The fish was perfectly grilled and the sauces and rice and black beans were a tasty addition. The wife enjoyed the Popcorn Shrimp appetizer and I gave her my cheese grits side. The shrimp are good sized popcorn shrimp and they are lightly floured rather than buried in batter. We have tried most of their fried seafood options and all were good. I would even recommend the Buffalo Backs appetizer using grouper and snapper backbones although I had it when it was an entree special. You will not find a better dining option on the water in our area. read more

Don't let the bad reviews scare you, this is a very nice place to eat! Unique dishes that you can't find anywhere else around here. I got the crab meat au gratin which was super unique. Also had the nutty Colada which was basically a Pina colada with amaretto, and then had my very first coconut creme pie. The only thing is that our food took a while but if you don't mind the wait, it's a great view and meal. read more

Fairly good. Many food items I would give a 4-5 stars but the service was a 2, including the hostesses. The two hostesses working on Father's Day yesterday (2026), were checking people in but not managing anything or 'trying to be helpful'. We had been on a waitlist a while. Our server was not helpful or service oriented. It took 1.50 hours (after drinks & appetizers) to get our main entrees. We had 5 people. A visiting family member wanted to try Angelos for his first time. We called ahead and were asked to join the yelp waitlist. We were pleased to see that the wait time was basically our drive time. We checked in upon arrival, around 6:30, spelled our name, as requested and they confirmed our party number. We stood directly in front of the hostess stand for over an hour. After noticing people walking directly in and being seated, I inquired about our waitlist status. We were told we were not checked in. If any of the three hostesses on duty were competent, they would have inquired as to why a group of 6 guests, including a toddler and an infant, had been standing in front of the hostess stand for over an hour. After being seated, it took quite a while to get waited on and drinks served. Our server seemed competent, I don't think it was her fault. After placing our order, it took over an hour to get our food. I got the crab stuffed shrimp. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. The rice side was a prepackaged yellow rice mix. The green beans were over salted and over cooked. We were there over three hours, from 6:30 to 9:30, with a toddler and an infant. This was an extremely expensive nightmare. I don't plan to return. There are too many better options nearby. The stars are for the view. read more

Super overpriced for how bland the food was. I paid $26 for a chicken alfredo that was the most bland pasta I've ever had. My friends got burgers which were pretty average tasting, and for $15 they were no good. Also we asked for medium rare and it came out very much well done. The fries were the only good thing there. The restaurant sits by a body of water so you're really just paying for the location. Service was also a little slow, it was also dead inside on Memorial day. read more

We were staying at Holiday Campground and decided to walk over to Angelos for dinner. We were seated right away but they were a bit busy for a Wednesday night. We started with Fried Green Tomatoes with Deviled Crab and they were huge and very yummy. He ordered Shrimp Scampi with angel hair pasta. I had the fried shrimp and flounder. It was so good. What a wonderful old Florida seafood dining experience this was! This scenic restaurant reminds me of my childhood and should be on your list to visit if you are in the Panacea, Florida area. I saw many FSU students, so even if you are looking for a nice seafood dinner in Tallahassee, the drive is worth it. We started with the smoked fish dip and it was amazing. We like to fancy ourselves as fish dip connoisseurs and this ranks up there with some of my favorites. It is super fine textured and comes with pickled onions, cucumbers and crackers. I added some hot sauce but it didn't need it. For my main dish I got the Florida lobster with deviled crab and it was fabulous. It came with three large pieces and was very filling with the salad and side. We got pie because it is made from scratch and it did not disappoint! The key lime and peanut butter were amazing. Our server May was so nice and friendly. She had some regulars at a table next to us and was kind and chatty with them. She did not know us and took our joking and jovial manner very well and we appreciated it. The drinks were filled very quickly, which I was thankful for because I was hot and dehydrated and I was keeping her busy just with that task. Manage your expectations and you will have a good time. Your in the countryside now! We joined the early birds on hump day at 4.30pm and got a great seat outside on the water. The breeze and view were lovely. Paul our server was enthusiastic, professional and knowledgeable giving a mixture of personal opinion and fact on Amberjack V Scamp. We went with the blackened scamp and it was cooked perfectly. Seafood gumbo started us off but a little salty for our taste. Perfect martinis washed it down. The restaurant is huge and plenty of room inside and al fresco. From the moment you walk in its a grand welcome. We did feel a little overpriced for the area so do check out the menu before you get there to avoid surprises. This is old school charm in a great setting. do not judge from the road, the views looking outwards are much better. Again, the professionalism of the severs is second to none. read more

I actually love Angelo's but the way I was handled tonight was unacceptable. I was seated outside as requested after sitting very patiently for 20 mins without water or just a hello a server came. She asked is there a drink I wanted her to start me with. I stated "may I have a drink menu" and a water. As well I put in an appetizer of the gator bites. Another 10 mins go by I'm still without water and a drink menu. At this point I feel this is wrong and not good service. I get up and I just decide to leave because clearly she really did not want to help me this evening. As I'm walking in the door, she's like oh I'm coming I said ma'am at this point it's OK. I don't like the way that I'm being treated and I don't really know what the problem is and I said I don't even have a water I've been sitting outside for 30 minutes and she proceeds to tell me she's been handling a three topper. I let her know I understand that, but I'm paying just like everyone else in here, so I deserve the same customer service. I went to the front where they check in and I asked for a manager. The young lady looked at me and said a manager? So clearly, she had no intention of getting the manager or was confused. She did apologize and asked if she could get me a water or to go I said no it's OK. I don't want anything from you guys. I just wanted to be served! How I was handled it was not right. It literally almost bought me to tears the way I was treated tonight. I won't be returning and I will continue to tell my experience. read more

Overall a really good experience! We started with drinks (Panacea Painkiller and White Sangria) and chargrilled grouper throats which were excellent and HUGE! We're used to getting 6-8 smaller throats in an order; this time we got only 2 but they were massive with lots of meat on them. For entrees, we tried a combo sampler with shrimp, scallops, and deviled crab. I wish we would've passed on the crab because it was mostly stuffing/breading inside. Others at the table got the chargrilled grouper and shrimp and said everything was excellent. Rave reviews for the gumbo and the black beans and rice, although the sides were served mostly cold. Hush puppies seem to be a flour mix instead of a cornmeal mix. All in all, we left way too full and the bill was around $175 for 4 of us. read more

Simply the best seafood within a 100 miles . Ambiance is fine although somewhat crowded as they stay very busy because it's so good. Go early or prepare to wait a while. The food is to die for. Doesn't matter what you order, snapper, grouper, amberjack, scamp are all fresh and tasty. We have always had excellent service at Angelo's, professional and efficient. If you ever make it to the panhandle outside Tallahassee, take a short drive to Panacea to Angelo's. Luckily, we decided to get there early for a outside bay view and sunset . Within an hour after arrival they were packed without one empty seat. If you are a carnivore or fish lover you will love this place. My family enjoys steaks and seafood so they went for both. I absolutely love the family style Greek salad that served 6 to 8.That was complimented by amazing sides like cheese grits and lightly fried hush puppies. Angelo's gives very hearty portions so go there with a hungry appetite. Even though I gave up meat and seafood 7 years ago, there were plenty of other options to satisfy even the pickiest of appetites. They even offer a few interesting choices in wines to compliment your meal . A huge shout out to Jade for the exemplary service given to our table. She brought our selections back quickly after ordering and even offered a few choices we might not have had if not for her suggestions . If you could add a spectacular view with unbelievably fresh seafood you would have Angelos Seafood. This place did not disappoint. Their signature seafood choices such as charbroiled grouper with amazing sides such as fresh Greek salad and cheese grits were enough to satisfy your appetite. Jade our incredible server made our dining experience memorable as it was for a beautiful birthday outing and even offered wine choices to compliment our meal. We had extra servings of the best hush puppies we had ever had . The temperature of our food came out perfect which can make or break your meal. The attention to details , accuracy of the meal and checking on enough to make sure we were happy with our meal made our evening. The next time we visit Tallahassee we will definitely make the short drive to Angelos Seafood in Panacea. read more
