The best combo of traits I've come across at an eye clinic/storefront combo. This made me feel very comfortable proceeding with an eyeglass purchase. The staff who helped me choose eyeglasses were also extremely helpful and courteous. I can't stress enough how important this is as I'm well aware eyeglasses are a high margin, high reward industry I've always been reluctant to purchase eye-ware at the same storefront. I ended up with two sets of eye-ware that I put to immediate use with a cross canada drive from Ontario to BC. The prescription sunglasses they helped me choose were a perfect fit and a perfect lens. My reading/working glasses were also a great fit and I'm growing very attached to the fit and lens choice.

Horrible experience at Eyes by Design. I trusted Jennifer's professional advice upon purchasing my…read moreglasses. She suggested me to take a picture and see which frame looks best, which was unprofessional and shows her lack of expertise. She did not explained the pros and cons of the frames and make recommendations based on my prescription. Without knowing I was provided with bad advice, I paid $850 for the Gucci glasses and ended up getting a pair of $800 Kate Spade glasses that causes pain to my nose bridge and behind my ears, leaving deep red marks. Submitted a Google review with full honesty that their staff Jennifer suggested me to purchase the Gucci frames. Jennifer then lied about this situation by replying back saying I chose to purchase the frames despite her recommendations. This experience shows that Jennifer does not take accountability for her mistake and put blame on their customers for what happened.

I had purchased a couple (pricey) sunglasses online; when I received them, the arms were too wide. I googled eyeglass repair shops and this place was among the first couple establishments suggested. As challenging as it was to make adjustments due to the style of the glasses, he was able to figure out a solution. I was so ecstatic!!! Not only did he amend the alignment of the temple arms so I could now wear my glasses, he did so expecting NO COMPENSATION! I was so eternally grateful, I persisted to INSIST he accept my offer of payment. Afterward, he gave me a lovely token (glasses care products). I'm am in AWE of his kindness and professionalism! Firstly, I can appreciate them being able to accommodate students and will give a discount for their eye exams in order to help us out. Secondly, they are 100 percent up front with everything and why they do what they do. Secondly, they have this machine that takes a picture of the inside of your eye which I've never seen before. Dr. Tang showed me the inside and which parts did what and it was soooooo interesting to me. Not everyone decides to have that level of transparency and make an effort into making a rapport with their clients. Stella was really great in recommending some lenses for myself that will help me in being able to combat the blue light that gets emitted from screens since I am constantly on the computer due to my school and my job. She was really interested in explaining everything to me. I love the fact that I can get all my documents emailed to me. My prescription, invoice and everything I need for insurance purposes will always be on my phone and computer when I need it. I'll see them in a few weeks to get my glasses since I'm waiting for some other insurance to kick in. But I wouldn't recommend anyone else for an eye exam, they're seriously amazing.

Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. Thank you Dr. Tang for making sure my eyes are healthy and for giving me advise on how to maintain/improve my current eye health and vision with your expertise. Highly recommend Dr. Allyson Tang as your family optometrist!

Wow, I hopped on to write a review of my experience and noticed that I had already left a review…read moreback in 2012!! Honestly, I don't even remember that experience nor do I remember that guy. Time for an update! I've worked in this office complex for over 10 years and have walked by this place too many times to count. I had come with a coworker who was looking to get new glasses and I started to try on frames as well. The lady who helped us was patient and friendly. My friend found a pair she loved and I, well, I looked stupid in everything. *sigh* Since we work in the building, we receive a discount on frames so that's a plus! My coworker ended up getting a beautiful pair of Gucci frames that look stunning on her. After getting an updated prescription from my optometrist, I started to 'seriously' look for frames which might look good on me. I went to many stores near my home and I actually found a pair of Ray Bans that didn't look horrible on me! I went back to La Look and asked if they were able to get them as well. Not only could they get them, their prices were more competitive... even before the discount! They didn't have the actual frames in the store so they offered to order them in for me to look at. They received them within a week and they were perfect. I proceeded with the order and the glasses were ready within a few days! I am so happy with my new glasses (who saw THAT coming? ...no pun intended). All the ladies I've dealt with at the store have been really great, especially the owner (who I believe, only comes out of 'retirement' to relieve the others during vacations). They're conveniently located on the subway line at Finch Station so if you're in the area, definitely check them out. If you work in one of the two office towers, then this place is a must!

Half way thru the conversation with him I knew I should come back and see Gulia instead. However she is not there every day. She has a fixed schedule during the week that you should check. At the beginning when the store was opened 5-6 years ago, Gulia seems not having much experience as she was new to running an optics business. To offset that she has been warm and welcome. It is from her that I found my best fit brand of contact lenses. We should promote her style of customer service, as from my experience majority of sales people nowaday seem not caring much but pushing for more money, many not caring to even pull up a smile when we enter their store. Another downside of her store is her doctor, if it is still the same tall middle-aged female doctor who examed my Mum's eyes 3 years ago. She was sad, cold, irruptive and impolite. And it seems Guila was not very receptive to my feedback on this doctor's behavior. Hope Gulia see these comments from her customers and offer some training to her staff or hire someone else.
